I have been a valid KUIU customer for years but I have to admit their customer service and operations is complete garbage. I ordered $250 dollars worth of gear for my hunting trip (Thanksgiving 2019) and it has yet to even SHIP!!! I ordered my gear 11.18.2019 and it's been 5 days and my gear has not yet shipped when the fine print reads: will ship within 2-3 days. I have called and asked what's the delay and twice they said it will be on the truck today. They will not let me change my shipping to over night or let me come to the store to pick my stuff up. My base layer and game bag (which is desperately needed for my trip) will not get here in time. This is not the first time this is happened with Kuiu. First Lite Hunting Apparel will now be my new home. I have lost all respect for Kuiu. read more

The employees here were very helpful. I am from San Diego and stopped by just to be able to try everything on and write down my sizes so I didn't have to worry about returning items when I buy online. I spent a long time in the store and they answered every question and were very knowledgeable about the products. If you have never been it's worth the trip. My husband and I came in here to get him some new hunting clothes. The store is clean neat and well stocked. But there were some things that need addressed. 1) customer service: the young staff were very "serious" with minimal personality and frankly, kind of snotty. An older man came in and said "I need an entire outfit please" and she was obviously uninterested in the sale and responded with "well, do you have a LIST?" Um ok. There goes that sale. 2) no prices on anything. They market themselves to be about the hunter and the passion of the outdoorsman (or woman) but no prices on anything. We all have bills and not all of us are made of money. So you're either stuck asking for a price on everything (which clearly could get annoying) or having to be embarrassed with sticker shock when something rings up. KUIU, Please Put prices on the items ok? To be fair, my husband loves the items and they appear to be of good quality. Time will tell, but we won't be back into the store. read more

I've used the competing " alaska town named gear" for years. It simply does not hold up and in spite of their life time warantee they won't stand behind it. Kuiu is well made fits great and has proven to be very durable. Kuiu gear is absolutely the best hunting gear I have ever used. I recently invested In Yukon rain gear 2 weeks after it went on sale. Kuiu issued me a credit with out any complaints or resistance. Who does that? I'm now a raving fan. read more

Called to confirm an order today and the customer service told me the account went to a different email that was not mine. Tried to tell me to make sure next time I use the correct account when I only have one and have never gave another. At the completion of the call I told him thank you and he just hung up on me. Acted as if I was a bother to him when I asked about crediting my account for points. Customer service this time was awful. Beware if you are from Canada and purchasing anything that you are unsure if it will fit or not. I just got reimbursed for two items after two months of messing around. And my refund is only for the cost of the items not any taxes or fees. Biggest and most painful process to get to this point. Can't say enough good things from my visit to the outlet. Cody was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the product and didn't try to oversell us. Same goes for Tiffany and she went above and beyond for us as we were traveling through. Michael is as also phenomenal. I've been buying KUIU products for a few years now without any issue. I recently had a fault in a product I had purchased. Worst customer service I have seen in a long time. I was in there to purchase two packs and seven articles of clothing. I received help but it took about ten minutes. Then the salesman began explaining the packs but he couldn't answer half my questions. He said he was going to get a weighted pack so I could try it and never returned. He began talking to another customer trying to hook himself up with a hunting spot. A young girl at the counter was the nicest thing and tried to help but she also had to ring customers up because the leprechaun looking fool was still talking but now about his hunting trip. After 40 minutes I gave up and left. The owner was out front talking with customers so hopefully when he is done he will see that his sales person is one huge waist. read more

I absolutely love kuiu products. The attack pants are hands down the best pair of pants I own. I wear my guide vest very frequently both hunting and just around town, and it's amazing. Me and my buddies got done duck hunting one day, and kuiu was on the way back from the blind so we figured we'd make a stop. I'd read a lot of the yelp reviews about the store, and noticed that a lot of them were pretty negative, but me being me and trying to see the good in most people; I had to find out for myself. When I walked in to the store there was a few people shopping and a few people working. In my experience going to outdoor shops in both California and Montana, it's often been after hunting or fishing trips, which judging by what I would be wearing, was very obvious. We still had remnants of face paint and mud on us from the days hunt. Usually the store employees would ask how the hunts or the fishing trips were, make small talk or at least say Welcome. Not the case at kuiu. We shopped around, bought some stuff and were frankly left with a bad taste from the employees. For a company that prides themselves on being the best of the best, they really need to upgrade their employee-customer relations. Sorry for the bashing, but am I wrong? read more

Terrible customer service. I ordered $460 worth of backpack and never received it. They said it was my responsibility to track it down through UPS. WTH? 3.5 weeks later, no package. KUIU took this whole time to issue a refund and only did that after I threatened to report fraud to my card company. read more

I needed a good pair of gloves for waterfowl Hunting. After reading reviews and researching the other gloves on the market I decide on purchasing two pairs of Yukon Pro Kuiu gloves. Both pairs failed on the first trip. One pair had a failure on the seam between the thumb and palm. The second also leaked. I contacted Kuiu and was told the gloves were not intended to be completely waterproof. Huh? I'd avoid these guys like the plague. If you want truly good equipment go somewhere else. read more

Kuiu makes some decent gear. I had a insulated snap shirt begin to pill under my waders after 2 days of use. Tim Ruiz approved my warranty issue after I sent photos. I sent that in on February 11, they received it Feb 14 and I haven't received an email or anything. Tried to write an email to Tim and it was not delivered because his mailbox is full. Their customer service is horrendous and enough of a reason I'll deal with the other companies that have been around awhile. Here's a suggestion Kuiu, just ship the return product immediately and if you don't receive the customer item by set date, bill them for a second one. Also, just got off the phone with Kuiu and they shipped it, but never sent out an email or anything. They informed me it takes them 7 days to turn around the warranty product, not 1-3 days. As a female, hunting clothes are hard to find, but I have had some success with Kuiu. The down jacket is great, used it on a Wyoming pack trip and was never cold. I love the socks, and actually found a pack that worked for my body size. The staff is helpful and welcoming. My husband changed over to Kuiu and is now fully outfitted, which makes me jealous because they do not currently offer women sizes. Hopefully soon! read more

I did not go to the store. I ordered a Peloton 240 Full Zip Hoodie online. It must been on of the best fleece jacket I own. I have top ends Marmot, Mountain Hardware, Arc'teryx and other military issued items . None have come close to material and workmanship. It is the warmest fleece jacket and very functional. It is worth the price I pay for. I will rotate out my other outdoor clothes with Kuiu, in the future. Is it the service you want or the superior quality of their products? read more

I bought a $250 pair of kuiu nx rain pants. They were listed as durable but the first time I wore them through brush going by light briar bushes the briars ripped holes in them. They refused to return them or exchange them claiming it was wear and tear and said I should get some patches. I could have bought a $30 pair of pants that were more durable than these. read more

Poor product and poor customer service. I ordered 2 'Icon Pro Hip belt Pouches'. What I received was so small my cell phone didn't even fit in the pouch. I sent an email to Kuiu Customer service and got a reply stating that they were sorry I was not satisfied with my purchase. They stated that they now have new pouches that are larger and that I could find them on their website. I replied asking them to send me 2 pouches as a replacement for the unusable pouches I received. Kuiu customer services replied back and said they could not send me a replacement but I could order the new ones. Sure, this was not a huge purchase and I am not a professional hunter but this kind of customer service doesn't even deserve one star. read more

My husband loves their products for everything and has almost everything they carry! The kids and I went into store to shop for Christmas gifts from the kids for daddy so they each had a small but reasonable budget. The young gentleman who helped us was amazing and spend a good amount of time and effort going back and forth to find the right size and design that the kids wanted for their daddy! 3 kids in that small store is normally crazy but the week before Christmas was even more crazy and he was so patient and helpful! Walked into the store after finishing up a duck hunt with a friend today around 11am. My friend and i were cold after a hunt in the wrong clothes and looking to pick up some new gear. The store was empty and 3 employees were working the showroom. We were not greeted, and the staff completely ignored us as we wondered the showroom for about 10 minutes. First of all, I love my Verde Attack pants. I wanted another pair but in major Brown. My mom decided to buy me a pair in the dark green color for my birthday. The green was so dark and almost changed to black in certain light. It matched nothing I owned so I decided to try and exchange them for brown(which I wanted originally). I waited till the 90 days were up for that color to come back into stock. It never did so I got a refund. I'm still looking for major brown attack pants and this was from November. They seem to have an issue with stock because they told me they would be in stock before the 90 day exchange was up. Since the pants were bought on a sale they did not extend the offer until that color came back in. In my opinion that's bad customer service to say, "you got these pants on sale but after 90 days you no longer can exchange them for the color you really wanted". The lady I spoke to was not friendly and borderline rude. Anyways, I love the make of the pants and my merino wool buff and gloves. I don't think this company has a whole lot of integrity or customer service though. read more

Ok, so I read the other reviews on Yelp and either things have changed or some of the people providing reviews are a little overly sensitive. I'll start from the top... I was looking for a full set of camo gear as I've always used hand me downs from my older brother. I got to see his Kuiu equipment (tent, jacket, pants, merino wool line, hats/gloves etc.) in action during a second season hunt in Colorado. His gear was tough, but light, he was able to regulate his temperature perfectly with minimal accessories, and I had a really hard time finding him in a rockslide while glassing even when I knew where he was. I went to the Kuiu store in Dixon to ask some questions and try on some of their gear. The lady that helped me was super nice and spent about an hour and a half going through each of their lines and what they were used for. I also got to meet the owner, Jason, who came over, introduced himself and was just super nice. I ended up purchasing quite a bit of equipment since in my opinion, getting that kind of personal attention is invaluable. Without a doubt I'll be back to get a few more pieces as I have special hunts that require them. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend them to friends/family. read more

Would have rated zero stars if I could. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever received. My wife purchased the puffy jacket and Yukon gaiters for me as a gift, which were both of exceptionally poor quality (jacket provided zero warmth and the gaiters fell apart after 6 hours of light pheasant hunting). I called customer service to initiate the return process, and was told that the jacket is one of their top selling items, and that I needed a better excuse to return it. When I finally wasted over an hour arguing with the customer service rep and her manager, I was told I could return both items (which I did, but never received the refund). After months of hounding the company and never receiving a refund, we were finally reimbursed by Visa when we were forced to report this company's malfeasance and file a claim. This company makes itself appear to be the top of the line but trying to order let alone receive anything from them is a joke. They can't keep anything in stock and are constantly putting things on back order. For example I ordered a hunting shirt in jan 2014 and after calling for a while and being told it was still back ordered, just last week over a year later, they tell me it is out of production.... What the hell?? Why don't they worry about keeping things in stock and fulfilling orders placed and payed for a yr ago instead of making new products..... Simply put, look elsewhere. read more

Great customer service. Came up from hawaii looking for a good quality waterproof jacket. I am 6'6 315lbs, not easy to find Outerwear in my size. However, the 3xl fit perfect. From the alpine pants, the glove system, to the wet weather gear, and especially my two packs; this gear is lighter and out performs everything else I have owned previously. I ordered the KUIU gear in late December 2015 and it has been all great. There are so bad reviews on here and my experience was quite the opposite. When I ordered the gear it shipped in a very reasonable amount of time and the product is phenomenal. Seam sealed and warm- the whole shebang. I was in -15 weather at 13k feet with a T and the Zip T and the down Teton Jacket and I was stupid warm but never overheated. I also did an exchange for different sizes and the customer service couldn't have been better. I talked to Cody and he was more than helpful with what I needed. So I ordered more stuff and it shipped that day. Whatever bad reviews or experiences people have had, id say KUIU fixed it because my experience was great. read more

I will never buy another product from Kuiu, and I would never recommend Kuiu to another person. I placed two order with Kuiu in Early Oct. One order I received and returned it the following day because it did not fit properly. Five days after USPS said my return was delivered to Kuiu, I was told it was going to take another 10-12 days to have my order refunded. Really? Almost three weeks? Second order I placed on Oct 7th, and the order shipped out on Oct 9th, but the tracking number was never updated past pre-shipment status. Over a week later I contacted Kuiu about the order and they said there was a shipping error with a bunch of orders that were lost in shipping. But they assured me that they would have my order shipped out next day and I would have it within two days. The following day I received a call from Kuiu saying they were out of stock on one item. I was so frustrated at this point that I asked them to cancel the order and refund my money. I was told the refund would be processed the next day. Five days later I was still not refunded. After calling and speaking with Kuiu, they said they were waiting on the order that was shipped out to be returned and it would take 5-7 business days for my refund after the lost shipment was returned to Kuiu. This is going on a month now where I have a lot of money spent on Kuiu gear, and I have no gear or money returned. I feel like I am being robbed. read more
