This review is about the sales staff and lack of communications at Camping World Vacaville. Have driven 150 miles r/t to pick up our used RV three times and it's still not ready. They have a serious internal communication problem. Purchased 5/5/26. Appt was set for 5/9 9am to pick it up. Arrived to find they were still waiting for parts. Set another appt for 5/18. On 5/17 we asked our salesman if it was ready but were told they wouldn't be able to check until service dept opened the same time we were scheduled to pick it up, but he believed it would be ready. He texted us as we arrived that it was not ready. Made another appt for 5/26. Salesman told us 5/25 he had personally verified it was ready to go. On walkthrough we came up with 10 items still not finished (from the windshield not being replaced to the rig not having enough diesel for us to verify the generator was working). We had paid for the extra detailing and the rig was still dirty. So we've driven 450 miles, spent 8 hours on the road, $170+ on gas, and 7+ hours at Camping World and still don't have the RV we paid for. Oh, and the warrantee & Good Sam membership is ticking down because all that starts on the day you make the purchase. If they manage to make this right I will update this review. UPDATE: We were able to pick up the RV on the 4th try. The new mattress (standard on all RVs purchased from CW) was the wrong one. Salesman told us we needed to jerry-rig it ourselves to make it fit. We pushed back and were directed to the service desk. They instantly saw the problem and ordered the correct mattress (still waiting on it). The general manager offered us $200 max in compensation for the issues picking up the RV. 45 min later he said upper management said to make that $700. That feels like a good amount for the money & time we wasted so we accepted. Last issue: The flat tow package we had agreed on (to be installed on our car) was switched to a tow dolly without talking to us. It's huge, doesn't store vertically, and doesn't fit in our garage. We were shell-shocked and stupidly left with the item, so I doubt there is any chance they'll ever fix it. read more

Im still a beginner I'm camping an rv adventures but I drove across the country with one and I realized there's many accessories an goodies that I need. So I found this place as my nearest RV /store. Store that I'm never coming back again. I went there after work with my work boots and my black pants that it had some dust here and there. So as soon as i start walking through the shelves I've noticed a white blonde lady I assumed she's the manager side eyeing me, not once but 3 times each time closer, so I asked if there's any problem she said no she's just "watching her employees" after that she didn't came closer to me, instead she sent another employee. If there were an option for negative stars, I'd max it out. Absolutely horrible experience. I wouldn't wish dealing with this on anyone. Here's what happened: I found an RV listed at $32,000. It was late, so I decided to sleep on it and talk to my family before moving forward. The next morning I reached out ready to move forward, assuming the price was still $32K. We spent the entire day going back and forth negotiating. What I didn't know -- and what they never clearly told me -- was that they had already changed the price to $34,500 on their end. So the whole time I was negotiating, I was doing it based on $32K, while they were working off a completely different number internally. Only later did it become clear that the price had been increased, with explanations like "mistake" or "corporate adjustment." I asked if they would honor the original $32K price -- they refused. No accountability, no effort to make it right. So after wasting an entire day negotiating under completely different assumptions, I was basically told: pay $34.5K or walk. We recently had an amazing experience here. The time came to sell our RV. It was fun while it lasted but ultimately the expense wasn't the right fit for us. Moreover we just didn't use this mode for a good portion of our travels. We made some calls to sell it on consignment. Ultimately we found camping world presented a fair option. We arranged a price over the phone that was subject to onsite inspection. Seemed reasonable enough. We knew our rig was in top condition. Upon arrival we met up with our consignment representative . She was amazing! Kind , friendly and so helpful. After a lengthy inspection we sat down to hash out details. This is where things got from poor at Roseville location to supreme here in Vacaville. Thank you so much Sherri! We picked it up the right and took it to camping world in Vacaville. Upon arrival it was the most pleasant experience. They took a look at our RV and were extremely happy to be able to consign it. The inspection went well. They told us it would be on the lot the next day at the higher price. I'm disappointed 9 out of 10 visits here. Latest experience, went there Saturday afternoon. Purchased a propane fitting. Salesman was great. Told him we were buying it to replace ours because we couldn't find it. He says no problem if you need to return it. Nice guy. We go home, on Sunday morning, find our fitting. The new one stayed in its packaging, unused by us, the entire time. I try to return it on Monday and they won't take it back. They say it's used. It was in the exact same condition as it was when we bought it. If it was used, they sold it that way but now I'm stuck with a $65 fitting. Marcus does not exist. It's a sham to keep me hanging onto the hopes that Camping World would do me good. Once I finally got my camper back over six months later I have vowed never to return. There's nothing they can do for me unless they want to give me back the six months of warranty that was eaten up while it was sitting exposed and unfixed on their lot PS my battery was completely drained and we went to pick it up. They didn't even check to see if it was charged. So we had to sit there and try to charge it. And of course we ended up getting a new battery at our expense. read more

I was turned away by management stating that the product was used which it has never been. I felt like I was trying to pull teeth, by just trying to get what is owed to me by their guarantee. Service here is a joke, and sales does not back what they promise. We bought a used RV from this dealership. When we arrived to pick it up, several LED lights that were present during our walkthrough were suddenly missing. The mechanic initially told us, "they were never there." My wife had photos of the RV taken on their lot showing the lights clearly installed. Only after we showed the photos did he suddenly remember and say, "Oh yeah, they broke." That alone destroyed trust--but it didn't stop there. A filter wrench was taken from our RV's storage compartment and never returned. Based on other reviews, this appears to be a pattern: items disappear, and customers are treated like they're imagining things when they bring it up. Sales told us they would "take care of it." That was two months ago, and nothing has been done. To make matters worse, they serviced the generator oil. The generator only had 0.2 hours, and the new oil filter they installed leaked immediately, which is unacceptable and could have caused serious damage. This place will take things from your RV, deny it until confronted with proof, perform careless work, and then ignore you. If you value your property and your money, do not trust this dealership. So I went to this location , I had spoke to JT . While I wasn't happy with the trailer upon looking in person I am glad that I walked through.The Coleman 13s was what I liked with rear door and layout . But I've seen bigger bathroom in a tiny commercial plane and that was the deal breaker. Anyway JT was friendly, took time on his day off to show me anything I wanted to see on their lot and was patient and helpful. I ended up buying at another competitor (which is why shopping is the best thing ) but because of JT I give this a 3.5 star . I spent 100k with camping world of Vacaville in 2025. I had a new unit go in for a warranty claim and the dealer flagged it for some BS with no evidence. Instead of the dealer talking with me to find out more about the info situation they have sat on my repair for the last 7 months. Mind you this is a Brand new 2026 Jayco Towable 40k unit. I am super disappointed and will never buy from camping world again. Take your business elsewhere. Their service department is horrible. Purchased a new Keystone Cougar 5th wheel about 6 weeks ago, all went well BUT they are supposed to replace the ladder and some cosmetic work in the kitchen. They had to order parts. I have called four times, each time I'm told they will call me back. I have not received one call, No updates, I will never take my trailer there for service, unless I have to because of the warranty. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I am afraid how long they're going to have my trailer once it does go in should not take any longer than one or two days at the most. The sale was great....but I new what I wanted and it sold itself. After that it's been all downhill. I found a used Rockwood that I'd been looking for and couldn't let it slip by. We drove down from Auburn and proceeded to make the deal which included the sale of cheesiest starter kit that I had to immediately upgrade because it was so bad, we we were also upsold on a protective coating with the understanding that we could could have this applied at the Roseville Camping World. It's now been 6 months of going back and forth and with Roseville and Vacaville trying to get this scheduled. No one ever calls back, I've emailed the salesman as his is the only email I have with no reply at all. The latest was the operations manager said she didn't see that we were owed a coating. FIrst, they contacted me about buying my trailer, offered fair value. went in and waited while they 'inspected' the trailer and came back with all kinds of non existent problems, including needing to replace the roof/membrane of the trailer and offered me less than half what it was owed. I took it to a reputable outfit (Dick's trailer American Canyon) and NO problems at all were found. THis is extreme dishonesty to me. Multiple calls have not been returned. Later I found cracks in tires and left message to discuss possible replacement, no response! Initial purchase transaction and dealing with sales folks and finance went fine, but after that, no regard for Customer. After identifying a fresh water leak, paint issues, and other minor items, it took months to even get an appointment for service. We finally dropped off our trailer a few weeks ago, with the expectation of a follow-up call detailing their findings - a call that has never come. Despite three previous attempts to reach them, we have received zero return phone calls. In a further attempt to get some communication, I called again this morning and left yet another message, which, unsurprisingly, has gone unanswered. I was eventually transferred to the service department manager, Joeseph G., and left him a message to call me back. The saga continues, and we'll see if Mr. G. breaks the pattern of silence. The last we heard, our trailer is simply sitting in a queue, awaiting service due to their reported understaffing. The complete lack of communication, the failure to follow through on their promises, and the unacceptably long wait times are infuriating. It's no wonder that Camping World in Vacaville has garnered such awful reviews. Our experience has been a stark lesson in the importance of thorough due diligence and a testament to the poor service and lack of transparency we've encountered. Sales guy nice kid. Bought brand new 2025 trailer and thermostat had been removed maybe to replace for another trailer. Piicked up trailer and old outdated thermostat was installed. CANNOT get them to replace a thermostat that is not installed on the wall of my new 2025 trailer. TERRIBLE customer service. Buy a new trailer and spend money and cannot get anyone to rectify the problem. Go somewhere else. read more

I bought a Rv there from Robert "RW" Smith . Great sales man but when it came to fixing to problems with the R.V. He dropped the ball.. I had a rattling door and a back up camera that was broken during the test drive and didn't get fixed when I picked it up. Called Robert and he said he would get back to me , 9 days later nothing. Called and talked to a manager and he said he would get back to me , another week goes by. Nothing , called and emailed 3 more times , ghost! I spent $68,000 on the motor home and they haven't fixed my issue. I bought a warranty so I'm gonna use that now at the roseville location . No follow through. read more

On April 18, 2025, I took my 2021 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite 254RLXL travel trailer to Camping World in Vacaville, CA for repairs to the floor for water coming through the bottom of the kitchen door from an unknown source. I signed a Camping World RV Sales "Service Provider" form which stated, "Customer states there was a leak coming from under the door by the kitchen, floor damage. CUSTOMER IS NOT SURE SPECIFICLY (SPECIFICALLY) FROM". After not hearing from anyone at Camping World for 2 weeks, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, I sent an email to Camping World's service department asking if there was any word about the trailer yet. I got no reply. On May 8, 2025, I called Camping World and left messages for someone to call me back regarding my trailer. I did not get a call back. Again, on June 24, 2025, I made calls to Camping World and left numerous messages without a return call. On July 11, 2025, I traveled the 1 hour and a half one-way trip to Camping World and spoke with a service advisor in the service department who stated that Camping World is waiting for some figures for the materials they needed for the insurance company, AAA. They had a check for $3,715.65 dated February 5, 2025 from AAA already delivered to the location. During this visit, I was unable to see the unit to make sure it was covered properly so that it did not get any more damage. Again on July 25, 2025, I traveled to Camping World but was unable to speak with anyone who knew what was going on with my trailer and I was unable to see the trailer for one excuse or another. August 8, 2025, I called Camping World's service department and left a message but did not get a call back. Again, I traveled to Camping World on September 12, 2025, but was unable to speak with anyone regarding the trailer and could not see the trailer or know if it was covered. October 24, 2025, I again visited Camping World but was unable to find out what was going on with my trailer. November 6, 2025, I called Camping World and left a message but did not get a call back. November 7, 2025, I traveled to Camping World but again was given an excuse why I could not see my trailer. December 5, 2025, I called Camping World, left a message and did not get a call back. December 12, 2025, I traveled to Camping World again, unable to see the trailer or know if it was covered. January 9, 2026, I called the corporate office for Camping World and put in a complaint to them that I was unable to see my trailer every time I went to Camping World and that my trailer had been sitting at Camping World since April 18, 2025 and no work had been started on my trailer. During this call, the Service Manager at the Vacaville location was put on the line and made an appointment with me to see the trailer and go over the work that needed to be done. January 16, 2026, I arrived at the agreed upon appointment time and seen the trailer for the first time since dropping it off in April 2025. It was not how I remembered leaving it. The Service department started work on the trailer on January 29, 2026. They sent pictures of the damage to my insurance company who totaled the trailer at that time. I believe my trailer was totaled at the negligence of Camping World. They knew the trailer had a leak yet I was unable to see the trailer or even get anyone on the phone to talk with me to find out if the trailer was covered. Camping World said they did an internal investigation. They stated that it was my fault that the trailer was sitting in their yard for so long. They said they needed my insurance claim information, and that I did not give it to them. I have an email from AAA, who sent all my information and their information along with a check for $3,715.65 to Camping World, Vacaville, CA for repairs on February 5, 2025, 2 months before my unit arrived for its appointment. They may have an internal processing issue if the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. As I stated before, I signed the Camping World RV Sales "Service Provider" form which asked for my signature and date. They had my address, phone number, and email address. Went to visit six months ago - looked at three separate units that they had on the lot. I had already done research prior - The units all had dead batteries and the jumper they had on hand also had dead batteries. This meant we couldn't get into the rest of the unit to take a look. Gentleman left and said he would be back with another jumper - didn't return, went to lunch instead. Anyway, they have called me fifty times since then, I blocked the number and "Andy" still calls and leaves me voicemails. If I could give zero stars, I would. I purchased my trailer from Camping World almost 4 months ago, and it has been non-operational since the day I drove it off the lot. The dealership knew about the slide issue at the time of purchase (I even have a signed and dated work order proving this), yet they still handed it over to me broken. To this day, it still has not been repaired. The customer service has been some of the worst I have ever experienced in my life. They refuse to return my calls, and on the occasions, I went in myself, management refused to speak with me directly. My dad had to go in multiple times on my behalf just to try to get answers. Even then, he was ignored and treated poorly -- once left waiting while another customer was helped instead. When my husband went in, the manager refused to speak to him face-to-face and made an associate act as a go-between. Completely unprofessional. The dealership has had the parts to fix my trailer since September 19th, yet as of today September 30th, no work has been done or been scheduled to be done. In the meantime, I've paid over $2,000 out of pocket in loan payments and insurance for a trailer I can't use, plus additional expenses when I had to camp in a tent instead of using the trailer I purchased. To make matters worse, their one attempt at a repair left it in even worse condition, with damage to the siding and interior cabinetry. I have now had to involve an attorney because this situation is beyond unacceptable. At this point, either my trailer needs to be fully restored to the condition it was in when purchased, or they need to take it back and issue me a full refund. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. I will never buy from Camping World again, and I'm sharing my experience, so others don't go through what I've gone through. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a major purchase. On February 18, 2024, my mom and I bought a 2023 Dutchmen Atlas 3312RL from Camping World in Roseville, and it's been a nightmare ever since. For a trailer that cost over $60,000, I expected quality and support. Instead, I got a unit that's falling apart and two Camping World locations that couldn't care less. The trailer has already been in the shop twice--once for over six weeks--for issues that should never exist in a brand-new RV. We've dealt with: Severe leaks from the shower and toilet A bathroom door that won't open or close Peeling vinyl and bubbling wallpaper Loose wood trim and a broken cupboard A CO2 sensor that's never worked A propane connection I've had to replace twice A power plug port pulling away from the trailer I even asked them to check for water damage when they replaced the shower tracks, and I'm pretty sure they ignored that too. The lack of communication and accountability from Camping World has been infuriating. I feel like I was sold a lemon or misled about the condition of the trailer. A 24,000 dollar trailer would end up costing 32,000 with a bunch of dealer add ons that I wouldn't need. By Monday thought out the deal real hard and I didn't want to lose so much on my rv trade so didn't go thru with the deal.
