I bought a generator online with store pickup. No where on the webpage or checkout page was a notification that all generator sales are final. When I attempted to return the generator which was still unopened in it's original packaging, I was informed of the policy. Camping World staff pointed out thar the return policy was accessible via a link on the webpage, identified that generators were identified as unreturnable. The policy was strictly inforced regardless the fact that the packaging was never opened and the generator never used. Came to look at an RV from a 3 hr distance. We called to make sure that it was a diesel and was told it was. When we were walking out to the RV we were told it was a gas vehicle. They need to post on website correct info and also employees need to give correct information. read more

We were lined up to purchase a RV even though we hadn't secured down payment. Due to family emergency and lack of funds we had to call and cancel the deal. We were considering changing to a different less costly unit, but after their lack of empathy and persistent hard sell over this experience, we will not do business with CW in the future. Terrible Experience - Beware of Unnecessary Services This was my first time purchasing a trailer, and unfortunately, Camping World made it an experience I regret. I was sold unnecessary services that weren't clearly disclosed upfront. The initial quote I was shown didn't match what I ended up with. I agreed to a $3,000 down payment, but once we finalized the loan, I noticed a $7,000 warranty added in. I was told it was "included in my payment," which was misleading. To make matters worse, I found a $1,500 charge for a video call doctor service--completely unrelated to my purchase. When I called to have it removed, I was told it was "too late" and that I had already signed the documents. The response from the billing side (Eddy) was dismissive and condescending: "There's nothing we can do now, I'm sorry, buddy." Robert, the salesperson, was responsive and great to work with, but the way this was handled on the billing side has completely soured me. With the money I'm now forced to pay, I could have bought a much newer trailer outright, paid in full. It's frustrating, but we live and learn. I've accepted what happened, but I'm writing this to warn others: Read everything carefully, question every charge, and don't let this happen to you. If I had the option I'd cancel my purchase. We had an excellent experience at this Camping World Service center. While camping out emergency break away pin came out. We couldn't get it to lock back in place. We called while on the highway. Savannah from the service dept spoke with her manager (Todd). They said to bring out trailer in and they would do whatever the could to help us. When we arrived Todd came right out and showed us how to replace the pin. They were so friendly and kind and helpful. We highly recommend this service dept and we will support this business! We bought a brand new RV (Forest River Heritage Glen) a few months ago and it has been non stop issues for a brand new Rv. Every single pipe underneath has leaked. The shower leaked and flooded the underbelly of the Rv and master bedroom carpeted floor. The electrical has been absolutely ridiculous and has burned out fuse after fuse and now our 50 amp cord. The reason why we bought the Rv? So the kids' dad can be comfortable during his cancer treatment. I have called for WEEKS to get a hold of someone to help because of all my warranties. I called on Wednesday and the service desk told me to call the third party guy because they were booked out for months. (I was quoted September even though sewer water is literally leaking on electrical in the bottom of the Rv) The disappointment I have with this Rv and being such a big purchase breaks my heart...but not as much as the fact that my children's father can't return to it because of the leaking/electrical failures and going through cancer treatment. You should honestly be ashamed of yourselves. What about lemon laws? Faulty products? Come on now. And please don't give me the "here is an email to complain to response". Tl;dr: Warning, AVOID going to Camper World they're a high pressure sales organization.The objective is to get as much of your money as possible. My experience proved they are big on promises & fall short performing after the sale. We visited Camping World to look at trailer models, floor plans & pricing. Instead of letting customers walk their lot, they assign you a well trained, high pressure salesperson who shadows you the entire time, not leaving you alone for a moment, like time-share sales people. They're micromanaged and scrutinized with high monthly $ales goals. Miss quotas, they're "written up" & terminated. Assigned to Chris Bowers at their Vacaville, CA store. Slick sales guy asking probing questions & later used to leverage & pressure us into purchasing. We found a used trailer on their lot - 2019 Forrest River Vibe, pressured to make an offer -because this unit will sell quickly. Told of a mandatory $2500 preparation fee added to every purchase - new or used. Made an offer and they began to drag out the negations to wear us down. We agreed on a price & put a $3K deposit down & later told it was non-refundable. Scheduled a pick up. Although the trailer had anti-sway bar system, they insisted we buy a new one from them in order to install it on our truck. -To their credit, the trailer was ready on our pick up date with a new deep cycle battery & mattress. They washed the exterior & Armor All'd the tires. Their Service staff walked us through the trailer reviewing the various features. All in all a good experience. Before leaving, we were taken to their 'finance person' to complete the purchase. We p No financing. However he proceeded to sell us an EXPENSIVE extended warranty & roadside assistance policy. Warning us, "once you leave today, you will not be able to purchase this subsequently". (We later found that to be untrue & Good Sam warranties online for much less!) Chris, our salesperson, assured us he'd be there if we had any questions or needs. Drove home & parked it in our driveway. We planned our first camping trip (to the beautiful Pinnacles National Park). We discovered the toilet leaked when flushed. Not a huge issue, giving us a chance to take them up on their extended warranty. We called the warranty number. The first person we spoke with couldn't find us in their system & transferred us to someone who also couldn't help. Transferred again, put on hold and the call ended. Called back more transfers & finally spoke with someone who found us. She instructed us to call Camping World service. Stopped into Camping World's San Martin, CA store, just off the freeway along our way. This location isn't offering service "go to Vacaville" (115 miles/2 hours North & out of our way). Called Vacaville and told no one in Service available to take our call. I asked to speak with our sales person, Chris Bowers. He was 'busy with a customer' and would call us back. I left our number and asked to speak with the General Manager. There wasn't anyone available to take my call. I called back again and spoke with someone who said we come in and speak with a service tech at 4PM. Based on GPS info we would arrive in Vacaville at 2PM. I asked if we could simply leave the trailer to be looked at their convenience. NO, that's not an option, we'd first have to speak with a service tech (at 4PM). Drove home & parked it in our driveway. Remember, this was a very minor issue giving Camping World the opportunity to make good on their promises. They let us down. The next day, we received a call from an unknown number who left a voicemail. It was their service department asking how they could help. Chris Bowers never called. My issue is, they had no sense of urgency to assist us for a simple item when needed. There was a HUGE sense of urgency to close the deal & get $, with excues & delays after. I found a DIY solution online to replace the floor seal. $20 part & some labor. Please be aware of this location when buying an RV. UNORGANIZED and PUSHY. I found an RV in Reno and Vacaville location agreed to bring it to Vacaville. That was great. I thought. This transaction started at end of August and it would be easier to pick up for me the first week of September. The sales person pushed on me to purchase on 8/31/24 because he needed his numbers. That was irritating but I acquiesced. I told him I could be there by 2 pm. 8/31. I was running 30 minutes late so I let him know. Once I got there I was supposed to do an "rv safety inspection" which they attempted to charge me $2000. I talked them down to $1000. What a joke! I sat there in the office for over an hour waiting for said inspection. Excuses: it's the end of the month and everyone is trying to get their numbers. Also, when we did the inspection the technician had no clue what he was talking about. I understood more than he did. Not even worth $1000. I had to threaten to leave the site to get things moving faster. I also did not want to drive in the dark and sun started to set. I pulled out just as the sun was setting. Our first trip right after I purchased. 2 tire blow outs. So much for safety inspection. Let me mention rv warranty guy. He tried to sell me a warranty for over $4000 dollars. I said no several times. He was not happy. I found a warranty for half that by researching on line. Don't let them push you into that either. The icing on the cake was a bill I just received from them because DMV charged more. What a mess. I will pay that measly $17 but you will never get my business again. Robert showed us some, we picked one. I reminded him my budget was $35,000 and the trailer he showed us was $40,000. he said no worries, he could make it work. So he negotiated back and forth with me and his manager, finally saying they could go no lower than $36,900. Fine, let's do it. While waiting for paperwork I look online for photos and see my trailer on their website, with sales price of $36,900!!! I tell Robert this, furious that they lied when telling me the price was $40,000! He says they can't possibly check prices online on every trailer on their lot. NO, they should check prices of the ones they are selling! They also told me I had to have a prepayment penalty, I said that was a deal breaker, I was paying it off in two months. they said sorry, it's what it is. I told them to stop the sale, I would arrange for cash and come back. OH! WAIT! we can do it without a prepayment penalty, we just get paid better if there is. WOW! I said I don't need it for 30 days, they said they could hold it no problem and we would do walk through in a couple of weeks. then all of a sudden they said oh good news! you can do your walk thru tomorrow at 3:00! I said I'm in no rush, why not in two weeks? and I can't do it at 3:00, maybe 3:30 or 4:00? no! we close early, it must be 3:00. Not sure why we had to do it next day. I cancel my appointment and we get there at 3:00. Sat till 3:45, because they weren't ready and obviously I just bought it yesterday, how could they be ready that fast? OMG! They then asked for a cashiers check. What cashiers check? no one said a word! i obviously don't carry one in my pocket, can I wire you? yes, they said. No wire instructions. Monday I email for wire instructions, no response. Wednesday a different manager calls asking why I didn't wire. REALLY? she apologizes, and tells me she will be having training on the events that I have experienced. I then call THREE times, two days apart for each call, asking what day I need to pick up trailer. no return call. I then email the corporate office, and what a surprise, I get a call in half an hour. I told corporate all of this, she apologized and asked how they could make it right. After a bit to think about it I messaged her and said they offered a protective coating on the trailer for $2,000 that I declined. The sales process was good with the exception of us saying we did not want the exterior protected and then trying to charge us for it anyways. The service is by far the worst EVER. We bought our trailer about 2 years ago. The day we picked it up, there was a small crack in one of the fender skirts. They were supposed to order the part and replace. That was to take place when we had to bring the trailer back in to get a slide adjusted. They never ordered the part and then said they would order and install while the trailer was in for the slide repair. The day I pick up the trailer when everything is supposed to be done, the fender skirt is still not fixed. They say the tech must have fixed the wrong one. Note: there are only two so supposedly he replaced the one that wasn't broken. They also point out that the weather stripping around the slide looks like it may rip soon. At this point the trailer is only about 6 months old and has been used once. They say they will order and replace the weather stripping under warranty and order the fender skirt again. Fast forward a year....still nothing has been done, when I call, nobody calls back. I've emailed the lady that assists us in service and she says the fender was replaced already..... UGH. Emailing the Vacaville manager does not help as he doesn't reply either. Trailer is now out of warranty. Don't waste your time at this company. read more

Bought a new 2024 Springdale in Jul 2024. started to leak in November. Not a small leak either. the entire front above the bed and closets. both vents leaked as well. We have bought the 10 year warranty as well. we called the issues in starting in November. could not get a call back until December. they said the earliest they could get us in was March. started calling the corporate offices. After numerous phone calls and emails they moved the appointment up 2 week. They are not going to keep it and fix it though, they are going to just take pictures and send them in for warranty. Long story, bear with me... We purchased a new trailer in February 2020. Late that fall we had an issue with our slide-out binding. We contacted Camping World for warranty repair and we were told that the soonest appointment was nine months away. We were able to contact a "tech support" that was not from Camping World who talked me through troubleshooting and I was able to get the slide out to work, at that point everything seem to be fine. Fast forward nearly 2 years to a camp trip, and our slide out began to bind again. I contacted Camping World to schedule a warranty repair, and at that point I was told the soonest appointment available was four months away. Since I was unable to get in for repair in a timely manner I was forced to contact a mobile repair service and schedule repairs. I then read through yelp reviews and found replies from Camping World containing email addresses saying "please contact us about your repair issues". I took a shot and emailed... I heard nothing. The mobile repair service came out and diagnosed a bad cable and parts were ordered. Just prior to having the cable installed I was contacted by a "Fixed Ops. Director" from Camping World who told me the situation "did not sit well with him" and he wanted to get all the information from me so he could submit it for me, because I had purchased an extended warranty. Again, I heard nothing. After the part was installed, and the issue was corrected, I phoned and emailed several times in an attempt to contact the Fixed Ops. Director. Again, I heard nothing. At some point I was contacted by someone in the service department who requested all the information be sent to them as they were asked to attempt to handle this. Time went by and I heard nothing. After multiple attempts to contact either of those two individuals, the service department contacted me and said they did not have enough information to move forward. I immediately provided the additional requested information... again I heard nothing. After multiple attempts to again contact them, the service department informed me that they could not submit this issue for reimbursement as they did not do the work. I was told I needed to submit to the extended warranty people myself. I requested the contact information and was told it would be emailed to me that day, once again, I have heard nothing. I have made multiple phone calls and sent emails in an attempt to contact the persons who contacted me, no reply. To sum up this review... Camping World will absolutely sell you a trailer, and don't get me wrong, we love our trailer, but pray that nothing goes wrong with it. You cannot get in for warranty repair. Also, if you purchase an extended warranty, it appears it is wasted money. Moving forward, we will be having any repair work done anywhere but Camping World, and I will be pursuing getting my money back for the extended warranty as it is apparently completely useless. As for future purchases at Camping World, the jury is out and hopelessly deadlocked on whether or not that will ever happen. UPDATE: It seems it took all of maybe 15 minutes to get the standard "this is not the experience we want our customers to have" response. To be absolutely clear, I am absolutely done with years of attempting to contact Camping World and getting no response. The "Fixed Ops. My boyfriend and I went to camping world because we were interested in buying, but had a price range we were willing to stay within. They get their shipments on Tuesdays and after about a month i got everything i needed just in time for our out of state move with our travel trailer. Directly across from his office, the manager was listening to loud music that I thought was unprofessional. The finance manager was very unprofessional and stereo-typed me based on my appearance. Took days for them to reply to a simple question after I already made the full purchase. I overpaid them for my trailer and one month later I still have not received my refund that is owed to me. The PDI fee is ridiculously expensive. You are better off watching a YouTube video because the PDI tech lacks the knowledge and experience. My overall experience is this, you would think a big corporation such as Camping World would treat all customers as though their business means everything to them, but this is not the case with me. It appeared as though they did not want my business. They lack customer service, and they pride themselves as the biggest supply chain in the country. I voiced my concerns with Camping World Corporate and even they lacked the compassion to do what is right. All I got from their corporate office was thank you for your concern. Really! This I can say for certain, I'd rather have gone to a smaller RV dealer that prides itself on the value of customer service and treating all customers with respect and appreciation for their business. Arrived to see the exact trailer in front of the office. When I met with a salesman named "Ralph" (nice man) he states no Lacy worked there and that the trailer was not for sale as there was a waitlist of 50-60 people. First of all I wanted to say a big thank you to Camping World for taking us last minute, to address our fridge problem. Sarina was very helpful once we arrived onsite, she explained what we could look forward to and how long it could take. Once at our trailer, Sarina called one of the lead techs to briefly look over our issue. He determined it wasn't a fridge issue and found it was a wiring issue(we had a power tongue jack installed recently and wires got mismatched). So he quickly repaired it and had us up and running in 20 minutes. Because these guys are so awesome there was no charge for the work! We were very grateful for what they did for us. Camping World, Vacaville (CW) had my 2021 Thor Motor Coach Promaster 3500 for over three months, after I found myself patching a coolant hose on the side of the road on New Year's Day 2023 with only 7k miles. Regardless of all the bad things I have heard about Camping World, Vacaville - Service Center, and with little to no other choices, I scheduled my warrantied repairs. The main concern was the skid plate that was crushing the HVAC and coolant lines that were now patched by me. Camping World said that they needed to sublet these repairs to a third party (Tony at Midway) that they work with regularly. Approximately three months later they called to tell me the repairs were completed and that we would need to wait on the replacement battery, so I picked up the van while we waited for the battery and cables to arrive. I sent my kids in the RV from California to Arizona on a trip for Easter with the understanding everything safety related had been addressed. It took almost six months for CW to receive the replacement battery in that corroded from exposed elements. When I went back into CW a month later to get the battery replaced, we looked under the van to see that CW's third party (Tony from Midway) took a hack saw to the skid plate and never replaced the lines/hoses as CW had indicated were repaired and completed. The work looked like a kid in shop class was experimenting. When I asked the Service Manager how this could have happened, and if they confirm the work was done by their third-party (Tony at Midway), he replied "we don't question the work of our third-party vendors." Apparently, they do not question the work, or confirm that the work has been done before turning it back over to their customer! In all this time, I never heard from CW unless I initiated a response with countless phone calls. There were more electrical issues with the van when I picked it up from Camping World then when I left it. Please don't take your RV to Camping World, Vacaville. They do NOT care about you, or your safety! The horror stories about Camping World Service Center prior and post this incident are true. read more

Buyer beware. Had an agreement to purchase a 5th wheel from them. 5th wheel had a large scratch on the front that was very deep. I told them I would purchase as long as it was repaired correctly. Gave them a deposit with several conditions. That evening sales manager calls and asked if we would take the coach as is. I said no. They (salesman) agreed to replace the front cover ( not try to paint because it would not match on a year old paint job) and fix a few other things. In the mean time I made a deal out the door to include a fifth wheel hitch installed. I dropped my truck off for this work and did a walk around with the parts guy inspecting my truck . It is two months old and has 200 miles on it. It has never had anything in the bed and only been out of my driveway four times. Bought it just to pull the coach. Upon getting my truck I noticed a scratch about 18 inches long on the side of the bed like something was drug over it. I then opened the tail gate to see numerous scratches that look to be done by the hitch being drug in the bed. I told them about it and that we did a walk around with my truck in perfect condition and they said they did not do it. I also looked at the coach and they just tried to buff it or paint it and it does not match. So I canceled the deposit and our deal was off. Now I want to pay for the hitch and the GM is trying to way over charge me for the work. The retail ( I have the work order from them that the second in charge admitted were retail prices) was $2,856.00 which is consistent with a price I got from a different Camping World . He was trying to get $3,800.00 stating it was his cost. I have sent several e mail letting them know I will pay the retail price. No response. Worse I asked for my paperwork with my signature on it and the walk around which we both signed and he told his whole crew to not give me paperwork. Wow. What are you hiding? Please be careful of this guy. We were looking at other coaches yesterday and several sales people told us about him and the reason why they left. I just want to pay for what I got. read more
