If you like name-brand outdoor clothing but not name-brand outdoor clothing prices, Marin Outdoor…read moreTrading Company should be on your radar. With a mix of consignment clothing and manufacturer samples, MOTC is a small, local shop with an enticing mix of offerings. Even though the consignment clothing would never count as cheap, every piece appears to be in great shape with no evidence of wear. The sample pieces, still sporting manufacturer tags, also sport a huge discount off their recommended sales price. I picked up a pre-worn, stylish fleece from The North Face for $30 and felt that price was reasonable and returned home to tell my son he should check the place out for the sort of outdoor men's pants he likes. The array of offerings is not dissimilar from what one finds at REI, but on a much smaller scale. There's other outdoor stuff here too - including a proprietor with whom one can engage in for everything fishing related. Despite its size, the store features clothes for all ages and genders as well as outdoor equipment. Whether you've outgrown something or just want something new or gently worn, if you're seeking outdoor clothing and like those name brands, MOTC should be on your radar.

I had a very frustrating experience with Sportsman's Warehouse in Rohnert Park…read more I placed an online order that showed an estimated delivery date of June 11, 2026. The next day, I checked the website and saw the exact item was available in store. I called the Rohnert Park location and asked if they could simply switch my online order to the inventory they had in store so I could start my 10 day waiting period sooner without having to cancel and reorder. I was told that would not be a problem and that I could come into the store and begin the paperwork. After driving to the store and waiting about 45 minutes, I was told something completely different. They said I would have to cancel my online order and place a brand new order for the one they had in stock. That was not what I was told on the phone. I declined because my original online order included a $120 Sezzle promotion that reduced my total cost. Canceling and reordering would have meant losing that discount. I left the store disappointed and decided I would just wait for my original order to arrive. What really made this situation unacceptable was what happened afterward. The same day, someone from the store contacted customer service regarding my order. Then today, I received confirmation that my online order had been canceled even though I never authorized anyone to cancel it. WTF? Why would anyone cancel a customer's order without their permission, especially when they did not even process the in store purchase I originally came in for? I specifically chose to keep my online order because I did not want to lose the $120 promotion. I wasted time driving to the store, waited nearly an hour, was given conflicting information, and now my order has been canceled without my consent. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and reflects a serious lack of communication and customer service.

Bodega Tackle is hands down one of the best tackle shops on the Northern California coast…read more From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is run by people who actually fish--not just sell gear. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting started. They don't upsell or talk down to you; they ask the right questions and point you toward what actually works for current conditions. The selection is solid and thoughtfully curated--quality rods, reels, terminal tackle, bait, and everything you need for crab, surf, jetty, or boat fishing. What really sets them apart is the local insight. Tide advice, bite reports, rig recommendations--this is the kind of information you can't get online, and they give it freely. If you're fishing anywhere near Bodega Bay, stopping here isn't optional--it's part of the trip. Support local, support people who know the water, and give yourself the best chance at a great day on the coast.
