I drove, 20 minutes, arriving at noon on a Wednesday. The sign clearly states open 7 days a week, from 9-6. It was closed and remained that way for 15 minutes. No "Out to Lunch", "Be Right Back" or any helpful information. Poor customer service and waste of my time. This is why people use Amazon Prime, for better prices, better selection, and fast service, with great return policies, and no attitude of the red baseball cap wearing kind! read more

We stopped in to buy bait for crabbing. It is a massively huge store. From the front it looked small. Nope, humongous. We got our frozen squid bait. I used the bathroom , which was very clean and well appointed. I also got a day fishing licenses. There are lots of employees, and everyone was very helpful. read more

They were closed when it says open till 6pm. Not fair. I love this place. I only wish they were open.

This place is fishing heaven! I was nearby for a work conference, and one of my buddies from work who had been here before suggested that we check it out, and I'm glad we did! First off, this place is huge! Imagine a building just a tiny bit smaller than Dick's Sporting Goods, but all fishing! It's crazy! Lol. I actually was so busy checking the place out that I forgot to take pics inside! Lol. As far as inventory, they have anything you could ever think of for fishing! Poles, reels, tackle, bags, clothes, everything! There are lots of brands I've never even seen before, and brands you would never find at Walmart or your average sporting goods store! I showed some restraint and only spent 50 bucks on this visit, but I'll definitely come back in the near future! I live 45 minutes-ish away depending on traffic, but this place will definitely be worth the drive. I signed up for a rewards account and look forward to racking up some points. Also, the customer service is great. Tight lines, folks! read more

Everything you need fishing related friendly staff. Very large selection of gear for all types of fishing.

Family owned , great selection, fair prices and attentive service , convenient location. Because it isn't full of hype and marketing schemes this huge fishing store is under the radar . read more

What can I say? This place is a warehouse full of nothing but fishing products. They have the best selection around, good service, and friendly people. If you need tackle, clothing, license, advice Etc for any fishing venue, you can find it here. I shop here every time I need anything fishing related. They have even given me tips on what lures are working for current fishing, what spots are hot, and best places to fish for what I'm going for. I also get my reels spooled up here every year to keep them fresh. read more

These guys are simply the best. Why would you go anywhere else? I've been coming here the last few years for all my local fishing needs; weights, hooks, line, rods etc for halibut, salmon, rockfish, etc. They always have what I'm looking for and the staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and without any attitude. Recently, I walked in to see if they could help me rig up a jig for bluefin tuna out of San Diego. Not only did they have the jigs, Mike, the manager, helped me pick out a pack of 4x strength 6/0 hooks and a pack of owner 250# split rings to upgrade the jigs for the monster sized tuna. Then, on the spot, he installed the beefy hook, moved the assist hooks, and rigged it with 3' of 200# mono. Amazing service and knowledge! This rig looks like a tuna magnet and it's rigged the right way. Always super impressed with OPS!! read more

not sure what is going on. this is a fun store! talking stories, getting advice, meeting new people, etc. but recent inventory has been abysmal. They have very little inventory. It sucks the enthusiasm right out of me when I can't find basic supplies to restock terminal gear. It looks and feels like a store going out of business. I hope all is well. read more

I wanted to give this store a 10-star review but Yelp stops at 5. The staff at this store is amazing. I just stopped by to ask for help making a specific knot and they were so helpful. They showed me step by step how to make this knot. Thank you so much, guys! read more

I don't mind driving all the way from SF to get my fishing gear at this store. Their customer service is the best, especially Anthony and Tristan. They answer every one of my questions. Every time I come here, I can get everything I need and they always recommend good and new fishing spots for me. Thanks a lot for the all the help guys! read more

Kind of surreal to think this giant Costco sized warehouse of fishing supplies is merely 15 minutes down the road from my home. People drive hours to shop here and I can literally come here on a whim. The thing I like best about this place is that it's beginner friendly - actually just friendly in general. This welcoming environment is what got me into fishing multiple species and now fly fishing. I've been shopping here for several years and have yet to have a bad experience. read more

So, I walk into the shop yesterday, wearing a mask of course. At the counter near the door are the shopkeeper and a customer, yakking away, probably about fishing. No mask on either one. Both of their masks are dropped down around their necks. I motion to my face, meaning they might consider pulling theirs on as well. The shopkeeper, misunderstanding my intent, says that it's up to me whether I wear one in the shop or not. When they paused their conversation, I politely requested that they put on masks. Both of them responded in unison, "We're wearing them." I left, and believe me, I will never set foot in that shop again. However, if you are a person who doesn't care about your neighbors, friends, family, or the people you come into contact with, or the people that those people come into contact with; and if you think you're not infringing on anyone's personal rights by infecting them with Covid through your negligence, then you might want to shop at the Outdoor Pro Shop. read more

This is a huge store. I don't fish but S does. He often plans day trips so we are in the area and he can stop in for more fishing stuff. They have everything he wants and everything he thinks he needs. I go along for the ride and for a nice lunch before he goes into the store. read more

By far!! The Best outdoor fishing store in the Bay Area. I drove over an hour to get there and was worth every minute. Amos was very helpful and patient answering questions. Went in to get some shore fishing gear and met a very knowledgeable salesperson who did an excellent job helping me pick the right rod and real combination and gave some well thought out suggestions on rigging for rock fish. His name is Jim and totally made my purchase because of his knowledge base and friendly attitude. Five star experience will definitely be going to so Jim and outdoor pro shop again. The store itself is well thought out and Jim was able to spoil my real with the proper strength braid and mono filament at the end. Due to the quality setup at the store Jim as able to let me leave with a loaded fishing real and I am about to go out north on that negative tide tomorrow to hunt down some keepers! Thank you Jim and Outdoor Pro Shop, keep hammering! read more

Super helpful people! Jim gave me a bunch of info about steelhead fishing and set me up with needed gear. Will be returning for sure.

Outdoor Pro Shop is the Mecca of all fishing supplies. The staff is super knowledgeable and eager to help. When I knew nothing about crabbing. They walked me through the process, picked out the best supplies and even told me the best spot to start fishing. BTW years later that spot is still my favorite Before a fly fishing trip to Canada they hooked me up. There knowledge was incredible, down to the specific region I was fishing in. On the trip I CRUSHED my buddies and caught 2x fish. Mostly because of the expertise of Outdoor Pro Shop If your a novice don't be shy... If your a Pro they'll make you better! read more

I ordered a rod online, I drove 45 mins to pick it up. While I was there I also had my reel spooled. The customer service was excellent. It was the best customer service I have ever received at any out door shop. This shop blows my local tackle shops out of the water when it comes to customer service, maybe it's because they have a lot of staff. Who ever owns this pro shop should be proud of his great sales team, i'm just amazed of how good the customer service was. I shall be back even though its far from my house. read more

Helpful staff and always have good tips and tricks to help you catch that big one! The selection is vast, however not without redundancy to a point. The selection in frozen bait is good. I've been fishing all my life and I've lived a lot of places and done business with a lot of pro shops. My experience today and when i called yesterday solidifies who I'll be doing business with in the future and the type of quality people people yearn to deal with when going to a pro shop. The guy I had the privilege of helping me out was Amous. I drove an hour to get this shimano talica 16ii reel I couldn't find anywhere. Amous was friendly, helpful and had customer service you can't find nowadays. It was honestly a breath of fresh air. Normally when you go into places that are a specialty shop people are cocky and extremely dismissive.. Amous was neither he was extremely helpful and personable and so were the rest of the staff. The in stock fishing gear was an anglers wet dream! They have fucking EVERYTHING! I have a local spot I go to but Amous and the guys working at this pro shop seriously won my business and loyalty today. I have no problem driving an hour+ to give these fellas my business. Thank you Amous and I'm sorry if I didn't spell your name right haha read more

I received the best customer service here. Everyone knew what they were talking about and enlightened me to some new fishing spots. JP was awesome, dude knows tackle and knows fish. Jim was super cool knew exactly what I needed, gave me several price options and was genuinely happy to help me out. I have been to the BIG BOX stores, even one of the biggest sports shops in the United States. Outdoor Pro Shop blows the competition away, pricing is great. What did it for me was the amazing customer service. Spend your money here, don't waste your time with the big box stores Pros: Customer service Pricing Knowledgeable staff Friendly atmosphere Cons: Stock(COVID)(not their fault) read more

I've been shopping the Outdoor Pro Shop back to when they were on the other side of the Freeway. This store has always been top notch as far as customer service goes. One example was when they have helped me deal with Rod Warranty issues for some IRods that had been given to me as gifts. You have knowledgeable staff who have expertise in fishing for different species of fish, and so they know what they are talking about. If they suggest something it because it is probably working, and I don't take these as hard sells. They want you to be successful in catching fish. Ken and Debbie Elie have always supported the local fishing clubs as well. Numerous donations of gift certificates, tackle, rods, and reels. During the last recession they even hosted an event where local fishing lure companies could come in, get a table, and make sales directly to customers. read more

I went to the store yesterday with a reel that I was having problems with. The manager - Mike - figured out the problem immediately- the braided line was slipping on the spool. He took off all the line, added some backing, and respooled the line. problem solved, no charge. What really impressed me though was a foul mouthed tattooed customer who was raising a fuss despite getting a free new replacement reel for an old one he sent in for repair. Mike listened to him calmly, solved his (unreasonable) concerns and never said a bad word about him. This store is the greatest. Everyone in the store is knowledgeable and willing to help you. read more

Worst experience I've ever had shopping. Unfriendly staff . Expensive prices. Hard sales tactics. I came in looking for particular item which they had in stock but the sales person named Steve tried to sell me everything else in the shop. Stuff that I didn't even want. I was able to get away from him so I could just look at items on my own without being bothered. He didn't realize I was kneeling down on the other side of the counter. I couldn't believe he was talking poo poo about me to other customers. I never felt so embarrassed in my life. Other employees have talked poopoo to me about friends of mine that shop there. I can't believe it. How unprofessional. I'll never go back and I'll tell all my friends about this. Please boycott the store and their online store monstertackle.com. They suck. read more

So I just stopped in to get some ideas for base layers, and check on the price of a mora knife. Found four items I would have purchased had I not been on my bicycle asked a few questions about impulse junk by the register and left. Then about ten minutes later some guy pops out of the bushes on the walking path behind PetSmart to ask if I was just there and what did I take, what did I come in for, what did I fish for, and if I didn't come knowing what I wanted not to come at all. That I needed to come back and tell the "tall"guy who said he saw me,that I didn't take anything. Well when I got back to the store the guy who said he "thought" he might have seen me take something was at lunch, and the manager wouldn't come out to talk to me.. So the guy who had to come and get me had to start apologizing because of the amount of theft and so on. !!!SORRY LOSS OF SALE!!!LOSS OF $$$!!! read more

Stopped by today because I am headed to Mexico and will be doing a type of fishing that I normally am not accustomed too. Jim served me and could not have been any better. He helped me select a great rod and reel, placed the perfect line on it and then proceeded to show me how to tie some great knots! It is well worth it to make the drive there to get this kind of service. Hats off to Jim for taking the time that he did with me, I will be back! read more

I looked on their website for 24 oz sinkers and the price was $4.49. When I went to the store the price was $5.99. I asked what was happening as I drove a long distance for the price and they said the online price is not the store price even though you are sent there when you search for the outdoor pro shop. What you have to do is order online and specify in store pickup to get the price in store. They said the lower price is a incentive to look at more items and buy more. They would not honor the online price. read more
