I frequent Big 5 Stores since they always have sales and useful items for camping and outdoor activities. The positive: the Rohnert Park location is large and usually well stocked but the managers there aren't that helpful. I wentmake a purchase and tried to get them to match their own sale price and they wouldn't. I prefer to shop at the Santa Rosa location on Cleveland, where they are more helpful. The folks at the RP location have a whole different vibe that I believe trickles down from the management. read more

Staff couldn't be bothered. We got a hello and a goodbye. In between that, the guy sat on his phone, less from 10 feet from us, too busy to be bothered to help us. We stood around, looked over several times, then walked out and bought elsewhere. Management needs to take note, business is not slow... the employees just don't care. read more

Went to the Rohnert Park Big 5 store a couple weeks ago, got there and realized that they closed at 8:30 pm. It was already 8:33 so I was out of luck. I was in the area tonight and felt I could get there before 8:30, only to get there and realize that again the doors were locked. This time it was only 8:10 pm. I tried to get the attention of one of the employees who looked at the door when I first attempted to open it, came out from behind the counter and then went to the back of the store. She returned to the front of the store with another employee and both continued with their tasks without even acknowledging that I was there. Unfortunately I did not think to get a picture of their posted hours of operation. Leaving in disgust I went to another store. I've been going to various Big 5 locations including this one for over 20 years and have usually had good customer experiences, even when I did not make a purchase. I hope this is not a new trend in customer service for this location. read more

He helps me find everything I needed and also provided great advice on other suggestions. Do not shop here is your a women. My girlfriend came here and was picking up a tent and air mattress for our camping trip, she had no idea what to get asked a big 5 rep for help, told him the size of the location and where it was at. He sold her a 110v air mattress, a tent way too big for the area. We ended up renting a cabin. Went to the store today and now that we opened the box they won't return it. Poor customer service, should be ashamed for selling a women protects that are not returnable if opened or not when you sold her the stuff. Calling corporate and will report. read more

I went here numerous times, usually just to pick up some small things I needed. The staff aren't super friendly or helpful but it depends on who is working, they aren't all bad. I wouldn't rely on them for advice on equipment, they didn't always know what I was talking about. If you know what you need and it's something basic you should be able to find it here and for a good price. If you need lots of options and assistance I would go elsewhere. read more

I went into the Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Rohnert Park to buy some shoes. There was one young guy working in the shoe department. The young sales man looked like he could use some new clothes , he didnt look like he really was working there. I did see him waiting on one man. I wandered around the small shoe department while he finished up with the guy he was waiting on. I had picked out 5 pair of shoes that I needed him to get from the back. Instead of helping me he went over and helped some other people who had just walked into the shoe department. I waited a few minutes for the sales guy to finish up with these people. I could see it was going to take awhile so I decided to leave.As I was leaving the store I seen Derek the store manager and told him what had happened.All he could say was"Sorry" I just looked at him for a second I asked him is that all you can say is "Sorry." As I was exiting the store he said" I can help you." I have been in this store before and was not happy with a lack of customer service. I only went into this Big 5 becouse it was right next to another store I had been shopping in. I have like the Big 5 in Santa Rosa, there customer service is much better, I always find what I am looking for and there is always someone there that is happy to help you. read more

For some reason unknown to me, the guns were the first thing that my dude noticed when we walked in. It's a sporting goods store, so naturally they carry supplies for all sorts of sports, like hunting. I guess it is sort of weird to have them so close to the entrance. Oh, well. Big 5 usually has really insane deals on things so we stopped to purchase and air pump and check out their selection of softball gloves. The air pump ended up being less than $10 and my lumberjack found a gorgeous glove that was on sale for half-off. It was a great glove and too good of a savings to pass up so he's good to go now for softball season. And since this is practically on the way to where we go camping, we've decided to make this our camping supply stop so we can just pick up what we need along the way. Hooray for convenience! This is perhaps one of the more cozier Big 5 establishments that I've been in, but it's very well-stocked and organized. read more

Good. Yes is definitely a smaller sports store, but they have all the basics you could need. Decent selection of balls soccer football baseball etc., even have some firearms available. And I have to say gentleman behind the counter was quite helpful when I have some questions about things in the case. However,When I came in I was looking for shoes.... The gentleman was very helpful in the shoot apartment, they deafly had a couple good options that fantastic prices, just didn't work out for me that day. But it's nice that there's a store still has someone there to help you with sizing and choosing shoes. Came in another time for weightlifting gloves, and they have a nice selection from four racetrack gloves to just very basic fingerless protection for the palms. read more

This is the best BIG 5 store in the area. They are very helpful here and for a smaller store have a great selection and the prices are great! I shop here regularly for ammo, guns, sporting goods, fishing stuff, etc. I always leave with a smile as I have gotten so many good deals through here. read more

I stopped by Big 5 in the hopes of picking up new ankle braces and volleyball shoes (I played competitively for years and I joined a league and figured new gear was in order). I was extremely disappointed with the selection available (apparently volleyball is not one of the 'big 5' sports). There were two pairs of shoes black or white and neither brand of ankle brace I was interested in (Aso or Active Ankle) were available. I would not recommend this store to volleyball players. read more

Unfortunately I would have given it a better rating if one employee that works in the firearms department was not so unfriendly towards questions and customers.
