Bodega Tackle is hands down one of the best tackle shops on the Northern California coast…read more From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is run by people who actually fish--not just sell gear. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting started. They don't upsell or talk down to you; they ask the right questions and point you toward what actually works for current conditions. The selection is solid and thoughtfully curated--quality rods, reels, terminal tackle, bait, and everything you need for crab, surf, jetty, or boat fishing. What really sets them apart is the local insight. Tide advice, bite reports, rig recommendations--this is the kind of information you can't get online, and they give it freely. If you're fishing anywhere near Bodega Bay, stopping here isn't optional--it's part of the trip. Support local, support people who know the water, and give yourself the best chance at a great day on the coast.

I wanted to get hooked up with the proper crabbing snare equipment and advice, as well as what to use for rockfish and other species in Bodega Bay. The staff was very helpful. The owner chuckled when he saw the pole I brought needing spooling. It was more for lake fishing. This was not my rod so I knew it was going to be difficult to do anything with. They had a sale on Competitor Spinning Combos so I snatched one up as well as the snares for all of my poles. Luckily I was told my crocodiles work well here as well. I'm heading out tomorrow. Wish me luck!

After multiple in-person visits to the store, multiple calls, dealing with multiple salespeople, even being told at one point they weren't aware my gun was in their possession at all, then they "found it", then "it will be done next week", it's now the week after "next week" and the agreed upon work is still not complete. 6 months after dropping it off, I had to throw in the towel. I went in person, again, today, and told them just give me the gun back. Months of haggling and dealing with evasion, stalling, and being given the run around is enough to make any potential customer stop listening to words and start observing patterns and behaviors. This is a good ol' boy establishment where if you don't know the staff on a first name basis, you're ignored while they chit-chat with their friends. If your last name isn't McNear, Zibura, McDonnell (or whatever it has to be), you're dead last on the shop's priorities. Rarely do I take the time to write lengthy negative reviews. I will never return to this establishment for any reason. The fact that the business owner has never once taken the time to respond to a single negative Yelp review in an attempt to mend relationships with clients speaks volumes and is a crystal clear and accurate reflection of the current customer experience at this business.

Kyle and the guys there aren't your typical pushy, salesy people. They're genuine gun guys who actually shoot and live the lifestyle. They'll give you options, share their honest opinions and experience, and then let YOU decide what's best for you. No pressure, no BS. I've personally bought 3 high-end 2011s from them and thousands of rounds of ammo, and every transaction has been smooth from start to finish. The shop itself is also one of the most welcoming and cozy gun shops I've been to. But what really sets Manzano apart is what they've done for the shooting community. They host and organize members matches where you can get stage experience, sharpen your skills, and eventually take what you've learned into a real USPSA match--which they also run out of Coyote Valley Sporting Clays. That's what I mean when I say community builders. They're not just selling guns--they're helping build a stronger shooting community. NorCal and especially the South Bay shooting community is a better place because of what these guys have built. I'm genuinely grateful to be part of it. May God continue to bless Manzano Munitions, the people behind it, and the community they've built. Shoutout to all the guys over there--Johnny, Mike, the two Alex's, Chris, and Jake. A+ customer service, every time. You guys are the real deal.

They take the time to answer questions, give honest advice, and make sure you leave confident in your purchase. No pressure, no ego, just solid people who care about their customers and the shooting community. Rare to find a shop with this level of professionalism and authenticity these days.
