If I could give Manzano Munitions 10 stars, I absolutely would. I wanted to build a custom Sig Sauer P365 and from start to finish these guys made the entire experience outstanding. I had been to the shop before and was already impressed. The team are true gun enthusiasts, and they carry rifles and firearms I had only ever seen in magazines or YouTube videos. Not only do they have the knowledge and passion, but they've invested in bringing in top notch firearms, and the shop itself looks amazing. For my build I was very particular about what I wanted, and they were able to get everything I needed. Since I ordered over Labor Day weekend, I even scored a nice holiday discount. Just a few days later I got a call letting me know that everything had arrived. While they couldn't source the exact standard P365 (they had other variants available), they were totally fine with me buying it elsewhere. I told them if they had it in stock I would have gladly purchased it from them. I always prefer supporting a local shop over a big box retailer. Once everything was ready, I headed down to drop off my P365 for the build. I had been working with Alex throughout the process and he was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic. He mentioned it might take 3 to 4 days but he knew I was excited and would do his best to get it done sooner. Talk about underpromise and overdeliver. At 2:50 that very same afternoon Alex personally called me to say my build was ready. When I picked it up the custom P365 looked absolutely incredible. They did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier with my new piece. Huge thanks to Alex and the entire Manzano Munitions team. You guys went above and beyond. This is hands down the best shop around and I'll be coming back again and again.

Knowledgeable staff. Highly sought after inventory. And competitive prices. This is where you can get educated on your purchase and also customize to your fit to your liking. Guns are not a one size fits all type of thing. Good prices on amo. No Draco's on display.

I wanted to purchase my first firearm for self protection. At first, I felt out of place with the all male staff, but soon realized these men are experts and they are respectful and extremely knowledgeable about the fine art of matching clients with the right firearm for individual needs. I worked with Jake through the entire process, and as we got near final details about Trijicon optics adjustments, Kyle Manzano entered the store and added final touches. I took my introduction to gun basics with Mr. Manzano. His expertise and finely tuned method of instruction instilled the confidence I had hoped for after one session at the range. I highly recommend Manzano Munitions, and Kyle Manzano for instruction whether you are a newbie to firearms, like me- or a seasoned professional. He executes Manzano Tactical courses with ease and proficiency.

This is going to be a long review, but I hope it can give any prospective customers a thorough understanding of what to expect when giving Manzano Munitions their business. TLDR, this business has, without a doubt, provided the most professional and pleasant experience on all levels of interaction with the sport/hobby (e.g. purchasing a firearm, asking questions about gear, and training). The only con is that they are becoming very popular and successful, which makes the in-store line longer than it used to be and it's harder to chop it up with these individuals without impeding their business. If you are a first-time buyer, I highly recommend you do some research or come in with a baseline understanding on the process of purchasing and owning a firearm. Purchasing a firearm is a unique process, and if you are familiar with California law, the nuances and restrictions of this state can make the experience frustrating and confusing. Fortunately, the staff at Manzano are extremely knowledgeable and approachable if you have questions. If you've gone to other shops, I (unfortunately) wouldn't be surprised if you've come across a negative experience or felt belittled when asking a valid question. It's refreshing to say the staff has a genuine interest in the customers' understanding of the process and the recommendations they provide truly cater to your needs. Specifically, they won't simply recommend buying the highest price firearm, but they will provide objective datapoints to inform your decision while also supplementing their feedback with personal experience as each staff member is proficient in the sport (I would recommend asking what the requirements are to be employed - "proficient" is a heavy understatement). Finally, their pricing is competitive, and it has been very convenient to have a local shop with a phenomenal inventory to supplement needs such as buying ammo or getting niche items that would normally be unavailable to the average consumer. If you are interested in training or furthering your knowledge/experience (whether it be for law enforcement or sport), this is where I give my real review as my experience with Manzano Munitions has been incomparable and absolutely amazing. After purchasing my first firearm years ago (at a different shop), I was always told to take classes, get training, etc. To be honest, I thought it was just a way to get money out of the customer as I felt I was decent at the sport (I would go the range at least once a week) and I couldn't shake the feeling most instructors were leveraging their experience in law enforcement/military to justify the price. I am very happy to be wrong (specifically about Manzano Munitions) and now I am hoping they create more classes as I've taken every class they have to offer. I have been in the sport for roughly 6 years but within months of being a member and taking their classes, I have gone from fumbling magazines to chasing Grand Master hit factors in the pistol matches they host (ok I'm not GM level by any means but I beat Kyle once - sorry, but a win is a win [please don't ask me about the other stages]). I would have never thought I would feel this confident in my proficiency at the sport, in both safety and performance aspects, and it is insane to think my training changed from solely focusing on getting the tightest groups at ranges to exploring holster work, conceal carry, competing in USPSA pistol matches and 2 gun matches, understanding low light scenarios, nailing targets 1000 yards away, and overall just feeling like a real life John Wick. As a disclaimer, I've been a member for 2 years. While juggling work/life, my cumulative time for training has only been a few months but the years of time/dedication I put in prior to encountering Manzano Munitions are frankly inferior to the knowledge/training provided by Kyle and his team. In summary, if you are new to the sport/hobby, Manzano Munitions is the clear winner in my head for feeling comfortable when asking questions and understanding the confusing and dynamic nature of firearms in California. If you are curious or want to know what it's like to take your current proficiency to the next level, I have no doubt that you will receive top tier information and training if you decide to become a member or take classes. After seeing the offerings from other instructors, I genuinely don't have any regrets as the environment/atmosphere is very approachable for all levels of experience and you get a lot of value for what you pay. Kyle, Jake, and team, you guys are doing an amazing job, and I hope you understand how much your work is appreciated. It has been an absolute pleasure to be a customer of Manzano Munitions and being a member/part of this community has been a standout experience in the recent years of my life. These gentlemen are professional in all aspects of business, and the employees are all respectable individuals who carry themselves well. 5/5

Brian was unprofessional, rude, and had a habit of belittling students. He made the learning environment uncomfortable by embarrassing people rather than constructively correcting them. While I understand that it's not an instructor's job to be friendly or to "hold our hands," there's a difference between being direct and being outright disrespectful--and Brian crossed that line. In terms of content, the class was heavily skewed toward theoretical discussions, such as legal frameworks for self-defense and broad topics on conflict and society. While some of this information was interesting and well-explained, it dominated the day, leaving little time for actual hands-on firearm training. The balance between theory and practical instruction was way off. Additionally, while Brian welcomed questions, he often responded by making students feel stupid instead of providing clear, direct answers. This approach, combined with his condescending attitude, discouraged people from asking questions at all. A firearms class should foster confidence and competence--not intimidation. I gave it 1 extra star because instructor Spencer was amazing. Overall, I did not gain much practical, in-depth knowledge about firearms or safety. If you're looking for a class that prioritizes hands-on training and a professional learning environment, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

He prides himself in using a "Socratic method" of teaching by responding to students' questions with another question. Even if he considers himself some sort of philosopher I would personally appreciated it if a simple question from a student such as "how does this work?" could be addressed more directly instead of being answered with "how do YOU think it works?" Simply said, it would have been a more efficient and pleasant experience for everyone if he could just put his narcissism and fragile ego aside. All in all, I have some gratitude towards Monarch because I did learn something over the course of my time there. However, since then I've moved away and sought training elsewhere I've realized that there are many training centers and instructors out there that are much much better, both in teaching methodologies and credentials, especially you're willing to leave California.

When I was scheduling, it said that there was like 25 spots open so I jumped in on it. When you actually get there though on a Saturday, there's actually a decent amount of students. There will be a line to get checked in. There is a lot of parking and a 7-Eleven across the street if you get hungry during one of the couple of breaks that they give you during the class. Everything was extremely efficient from my point of view. They were able to condense 8 hours of material into around four to five. I mean, level 1 is extremely common sense as some say, but I did learn some things about the do's and don'ts about being a security guard. Not a lot of people had questions so it went by pretty quick. The test itself is pretty easy so as long as you're taking notes on important things and pay attention to the practice questions. I'm looking forward to my level two and three guard card classes and will update my review accordingly

Finally had the chance to come here and I'm so happy I did…read more Once you drive over the hill entering the parking lot, you see a massive parking lot. On the right side is a huge trap shooting area and at the back of the parking lot is where you check in for the pistol and rifle range. You sign in, read review the rules and pay the fee ($25 per person). From there you'll be assigned a bay depending on what you're shooting. Once you enter the range, you go to your bay and set up. Note that you must have eye protection and ear protection on at all times when you're inside the shooting area. If you shoot rifle, they have stands depending if you're lefty or righty. You can shoot seated or laying down, supported or unsupported. I don't think they allow you to shoot rifle standing up for safety purposes. For pistol, they have steel targets or free paper targets anywhere between 25 to 100 yards. The steel targets at 25 yards is a little far for first time shooters. The steel target is about the size of an average size backpack. So at 25 yards it might seem hard to hit for first time shooters. So I recommend getting a big paper target so you have a better chance to hit the target. The far targets are 100 yards. More meant for rifle, but if you're good with a pistol it's a fun challenge. You can shoot the steel gong, or set up paper targets. The range attendants are very strict about the rules but this is common and expected because safety so important when dealing with firearms. I advise first timer shooters to read and know the rules before entering the facility. There are bathrooms to the back left of the parking lot next to the huge cool shotgun shell structure. What a fun first time here. I'm definitely coming back. Maybe even pursue a membership one of these days.

Although the name says Sunnyvale but it's closer to the Cupertino mountains. Although the map shows a long windy road heading there from 280, it's not bad not long at all. The range unfortunately is only open to the public on Tuesday or Saturday. The parking lot is huge and the restroom is on the other side of the parking lot from the main buildings. The checkin is at a small window next to the pistol/rifle range; you don't actually go into the office. After you pay you enter a steel gate where the stands are indoors but the targets are outdoors. The only problem is that there is a limited number of bays so I can see that it could get super busy and you might have to wait. The people there are friendly and no fuss. I don't think this is a good place for absolute beginner because the distance to the closest target is about 20? yards which might be too far for most beginner shooters. What I absolutely love about this range is the availability of steel targets at 25 and 100 yards. This is rare for most ranges at the Bay Area. Also they are not fussy about "rapid" fire. Also they provide paper targets and paint spray for the steel targets for free. The cost of the range is only $25 which is really cheap compared to most other ranges with the exception of Metcalf. I think I will come to this range every Tuesday from now on. There is also a shotgun range. Overall, this is absolutely my favorite range in the Bay Area for myself.
