Their selection is vast for California and their prices fair. I have bought several guns from them. So I recommend them for gun purchases. The range is nice and the process efficient. My cousin liked it and she thinks she was there before. I have brought friends there and the consensus is it is always fun. Range guns were solid as I rented a Walther to go along with my Sig M18 and CZ SP-01. The price is awesome as we were there for a bit and did not think much of what I paid as that is normal entry fee if you shoot. When I go to my property it is free and you can shoot what you want and how you want but this is a public range and not my land. So it is good. Overall I like Reed's a lot and would recommend the range and shop to anyone who loves shooting and wants to buy a rifle or handgun. This is a quality place for sure and you pay for what you get. We were hoping to get hands-on experience before making a purchase. One employee (white male) was rude, dismissive, and offered no real information or guidance. This stood in stark contrast to another employee (a brown male) who was already assisting customers and was genuinely helpful and welcoming. I mention this because, based on our experience and the pattern reflected in other reviews, it felt like we were treated differently. The employee seemed annoyed that we were new to the range and firearms world, which is confusing, considering everyone starts somewhere. Ultimately, we were told we couldn't rent, couldn't buy, and couldn't shoot. So we left. We went to a nearby gun store with excellent reviews and spent over $2,000 on firearms, ammo, safety gear, training courses, and secure storage, everything we originally intended to purchase here. If I were the owner or manager, I'd be very concerned. This employee is costing you money and damaging your reputation. Judging by the consistency of similar reviews, management is either aware of the issue or unwilling to address it. I checked back months later hoping to see improvement, unfortunately, the same complaints persist. That suggests this behavior is being tolerated or protected. I hope to see better reviews in the future. If that happens, I'd be open to giving this place another chance.

He did a great job putting everyone at ease and correcting people in a way that was productive but no one felt embarrassed or stupid. That is a great skill for any instructor to have. He also stayed longer to let me shoot with couple of his guns that I was not familiar with. Thank you so much. Dennis was the one coordinating the schedule when I signed up. They do cash trade-ins day-of-sale unlike most gun shops in the area that only do consignment. They take the time to properly appraise what you bring in, make sure it's legal for sale in California and make sure all the required paperwork is filled out properly. Their prices are generally fair market value from what I've seen considering it's a cash-day-of trade-in. You'll be waiting for maybe an hour at most here to get paid for selling your stuff instead of the weeks that you would with a consignment sale or what passes for a private-party transaction in CA. Could you potentially get more selling privately or putting your stuff on consignment and waiting for it to move instead? Maybe, but their way of doing things avoids a lot of the multiple trips and waiting time that comes with doing either of those other two options instead in California. I would definitely recommend coming here if you have guns you need to sell urgently or if you would just rather not deal with selling on consignment or arranging a private-party sale yourself.

I scheduled online to complete the ppwk to pick up a firearm for Wednesday, April 29th @ 9:00am. I know that getting there early on the weekdays is the key to not having to wait in line. I got there about 9:02am. I told the gentleman, a middle-aged Latino man with a gray beard and mustache, at the gun counter that I had a 9:00am appointment. He told me that he wasn't ready and was still setting up and to join the queue by registering at the kiosk. I registered at the kiosk and got a text from Bass Pro at 9:35am that my 9:00am appointment had been cancelled. Now, I was number five in the queue and it was now 10:45am. I had to leave for another appointment. I was not a happy camper. Driving to my next appointment, I called for a manager. I told Marcos the situation and he would get back to me to investigate what transpired. He called and left a message. His message relayed that I didn't get there until 9:16am and that there were several customers ahead of me so my appointment could not be accepted. That was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard; someone was trying to cover their @ss or @asses. This will be my last purchase at Bass Pro stores and I will shop from an independent store where they take accountability and take care of their customers.

They are a really small place that only does DROS services and they don't sell actual firearms. Loc is a great guy who runs the place. He is an instructor as well as an RO., and he really knows his stuff. Most of all, he literally is friendly. I can tell you from my experience that a lot of FFL folks tend to be gun snobs who act like they know everything and actually look down on customers like we are peasants who know nothing about guns. It's unfortunate that this hobby has a lot of know it all jerks.. They are really friendly and best of all because they are a very knowledgeable. They are more than happy to answer your questions no matter how dumb you may think your question is.. they really do make the firearms hobby more enjoyable . it is especially important when you live in California where there are so many gun laws that changed almost monthly that it's good to have a knowledgeable person to help you deal with it all.. I haven't done any firearms transfers yet, but I've done several ammunition transfers and it was a breeze. Overall, their prices are very low and they are very good at letting you know when your stuff has come in.. As a gunsmith and former firearms company owner, I would highly recommend Friendly FFL.

Although the name says Sunnyvale but it's closer to the Cupertino mountains. Although the map shows a long windy road heading there from 280, it's not bad not long at all. The range unfortunately is only open to the public on Tuesday or Saturday. The parking lot is huge and the restroom is on the other side of the parking lot from the main buildings. The checkin is at a small window next to the pistol/rifle range; you don't actually go into the office. After you pay you enter a steel gate where the stands are indoors but the targets are outdoors. The only problem is that there is a limited number of bays so I can see that it could get super busy and you might have to wait. The people there are friendly and no fuss. I don't think this is a good place for absolute beginner because the distance to the closest target is about 20? yards which might be too far for most beginner shooters. What I absolutely love about this range is the availability of steel targets at 25 and 100 yards. This is rare for most ranges at the Bay Area. Also they are not fussy about "rapid" fire. Also they provide paper targets and paint spray for the steel targets for free. The cost of the range is only $25 which is really cheap compared to most other ranges with the exception of Metcalf. I think I will come to this range every Tuesday from now on. There is also a shotgun range. Overall, this is absolutely my favorite range in the Bay Area for myself.

Also, make sure to bring your own earplugs or noise-canceling headphones along with safety glasses.
