I'm retired military and former Army competitive shooter. Scott's class was a far, far superior CCW renewal than my last two programs, hands down. Thorough and no-BS classroom discussion, and excellent range work. Strict range discipline, which I appreciate. I learned new things both in class and in front of a target. Scott will find out what you don't know quickly, and help you get up to speed. Highly recommended. read more

I was a bit skeptical when I found out that I would be shooting in a retired sherrifs trailer. But all the more interesting. Showed up on a country road at high noon. Got my gear ready and my elderly mother who wanted to Shoot her brand new Glock19. This was one of the best experiences in years I've had at in Indoor range and I'm a member at On Target. This was private. Not all the riff raft you get at some ranges. Garrett was so great and good to us. Helped me out when I got a double feed or stove pipe. And was very patience with my mom and her concerns. Overall I want to go shoot again this week I had so much fun. You guys are doing it and doing it well. I will be back. read more

The private lesson by Scott exceeded our expectations. I learned so much and had the opportunity to try several different handguns so I could find my perfect fit. I cannot wait to take more of his classes and lessons, I highly recommend it. Thanks Scott! read more

I finally met Scott today and I was impressed. What a friendly guy and extremely knowledgeable. I'm now a 70 year old retired law enforcement officer after 4 decades of service with full carry rights in 34 states, because of carry permits from CA, Utah, Arizona and Florida. I'm a LIFE NRA member and belonged to an assortment of gun clubs around the area for decades. So when I say Scott is an impressive firearms guy, I mean it because I've seen many of the best in the industry! He put new sights on my Kimber Ultra Cop .45 while I waited that same day. Even cleaned the gun and sighted it in perfectly. We had a great chat about a lot of things. His sister Angelina is a great lady as well. I joined the G4 Law Enforcement membership club today (he has several civilian G4 club memberships too) and I'm looking forward to shooting at his private indoor range further up the road from his very modern and nicely stocked shop. I watched several females come in while I was there and he was very welcoming and polite to all of them, just as he was to an old timer like me. If you've ever had a bad experience with someone behind a gun shop counter, you will be in for a real treat when you interact with Scott! read more

Great experience from start to finish. Angie is very knowledgeable. I am looking forward to taking some of the classes that are being offered. It's great to be able to support a small local business. read more

Short version: 5 stars for this place. Class act all the way around. Long version: Just did my CCW renewal class here this past Sunday. This is my fourth CCW class over the years and it was by far, the most thorough, safe and fun. The simulator was tremendously helpful and the classroom instruction was very much on point. Of course the best part was live fire training. To sum it up, what you get here is great staff, a great store, a great classroom and an awesome outdoor range. I also learned they have a state of the art indoor range in a trailer available for use so I'll be getting some range time there also.. I read a couple of negative reviews about them here on yelp and I can very easily say that my experience with G4 does not track whatsoever with those bad reviews. read more

You can buy guns cheaper in Sonoma county, but Scott, Angie, and Mitch treat you like family. There are many in the firearms industry that are interested only in making a quick buck or building a brand, but Scott and G4 are building a community that combines the right equipment with the right mindset and the right skills. Scott's experience and skill are world-class - I can't recommend any firearms training courses more highly than the courses Scott offers - all three courses I've taken with Scott have been worth every dime paid to attend. PS, try the simulator in the back - if you liked playing Duck Hunt as a kid, you'll love the fun drills and exercises available to you on the simulator. If I'm taking a new shooter out to the range, I like to swing by the simulator first to go over fundamentals and safety rules in an environment where we can both feel safer as they become a safe and responsible firearm owner. read more

I was just in the shop first time. Wanted to buy Ruger handgun Salesperson did not acknowledge me. I waited five minutes for him to finish with customer. Still no "I'll be right with you". No eye contact.I left and will spend my $$ elsewhere. read more

Booked a private lesson for my mom and myself and we had the best time and learned so much! Scott is very patient and a wonderful instructor! Great time at their private outdoor range and looking forward to booking our next lesson very soon! Highly recommend! read more

Great staff. Really care about customers. Excellent classes also. Treated like family. New shooters will feel welcome and get advised on purchases. read more

These guys will try and charge you almost double what a PPT costs and pocket the difference. I saw I wasn't the only one this happened to and knew I needed to write a review. The Penal Codes are pretty cut and dry on this one. These guys are wannabe conmen who are too incompetent to even pull that off. (a) For a sale, loan, or transfer conducted pursuant to this chapter, the purchaser or transferee or person being loaned the firearm may be required by the dealer to pay a fee not to exceed ten dollars ($10) per firearm. (b) For temporary storage of a firearm pursuant to subdivision (f) of Section 28050, the seller, transferor, or person loaning a firearm may be required by the dealer to pay a fee not to exceed ten dollars ($10) per firearm. (c) No other fee may be charged by the dealer for a sale, loan, or transfer of a firearm conducted pursuant to this chapter, except for the applicable fees that may be charged pursuant to Sections 23690 and 28300 and Article 3 (commencing with Section 28200) of Chapter 6 and forwarded to the Department of Justice, and the fees set forth in Section 31650. (d) The dealer may not charge any additional fees. (e) Nothing in these provisions shall prevent a dealer from charging a smaller fee. (Amended by Stats. 2021, Ch. 250, Sec. 14. G4 Firearms - These guys will try to charge you an illegal $75 PPT fee. The penal codes are clear and they know it, they just don't care. - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

Really nice family run gun shop. Absolutely must have G4 T shirts....you'll see what I mean,

I recently purchased a firearm and ammunition from this dealer. Friendly and warm environment. Guns flying out of the case. Just be patient as buying a firearm or ammunition in California has become time consuming as our leaders feel it is necessary to burden the legal gun owner as if we are potentially a criminal. Scott and the crew here are great. read more

Very personable staff however they are experiencing higher than usual volume of business so it is tricky to get them on the phone. Your best bet is to go in person. Expect to wait a while, maybe bring a book. They value your time and what an important decision it is that you are making. They will take the time to explain pros and cons of each variety and work with you to find what you need. read more

I just took my CCW class here. This was a great two day course where I learned a lot, and also learned there's a lot more for me to learn. I will be coming back to take private lessons and learn directly from Scott moving forward. Thank you G4 for the dedication and professionalism you put in this class to help advance my skills. read more

I was just looking for a target practice pistol and saw they were a new store in town. They had a great selection and the sister of the owner was there and she was very knowledgeable. They have a state of the art virtual shooting range that has a variety of guns and interact with a large video screen. Looking forward to experiencing that soon. They said it is very realistic as to accuracy and interaction with the gun of choice from pistols to rifles. They also offer a whole menu of gun related course including safety and proper usage. The store is still a work in process as they continue to make more improvements. Giving them a 4 star for their knowledge and commitment to the community. read more

G4 Firearms - Full service - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

I would suggest driving a few miles to another shop. They seem fairly competent, but not friendly or helpful. In their defense, I assume it must be tough to be a small firearms business in California right now, but other shops are more helpful. read more

Full service shop. I was looking for a new handgun and it had been years since I purchased one. Angie was very good about explaining the rules and made my purchase painless. read more

Small store but Big surprises ! I browsed their accessory inventory and found it to be eclectic and full of really top notch categories. Whoever the buyer is has done an excellent job of bringing useful and 'special' items and not waiting shelf space on 'legacy run-of-the-mill stuff'. Scott and crew are good in communicating by email. DROS was quick but could use a courtesy fees disclosure at onset. Otherwise their ammo and firearm selection is decent. Den read more

Very helpful local business would recommend this shop for anyone and nice location the cafe and bar both had good food and drinks so I liked that read more

Thanks Scott, appreciate the great service. Fantastic location and services provided to the 2A community.

First store I walked in that I feel not intimidated by the staff, usually when you walk into gun store staff for most places are very arrogant and kinda look at you from above, but Scott made me feel like we know each other for years, very nice guy got my first 1911 .45 from his store and I couldn't been more happier I even joined his membership G4 program, his staff/ sister is awesome too very helpful and down to earth makes you feel really welcomed in the store, overall 5 star review all day for G4 Firearms and the owner Scott Gabaldon. read more

Scott and his staff are awesome! I will be spending money here in the future for sure. Scott's classes he teaches are great and he welcomes all the questions he has plenty of experience to answer most any questions that come up. The store is open 7 days a week and have lots of guns and gadgets to choose from, give him a shot you won't even disappointed. read more

Good folks with a great practical knowledge of firearms. They are better stocked than most and have a lot of rotating inventory, including ammo. Worth getting to know the owners and staff. Glad to have another option in the north Santa Rosa area. read more

G4 is a great place for women who are interested in buying a firearm and learning how to use it. Very laid-back store, no pressure, a well-informed and helpful staff. Scott, the owner, is a great instructor, and he'll make you feel confident and comfortable with your gun. Of course I recommend it for men, too, but it can be a little intimidating for women their first time in a gun store, and at G4 you'll know you came to the right place. read more

Very welcoming to a newbie!! My husband and I wanted to purchase something for home security. Neither of us had shot a gun since we were very young and didn't know where to start. Scott (owner) and his staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They made some fabulous recommendations and took the time to explain everything. They were very busy, but we never felt rushed. I asked a lot of questions and they were all answered very well. We both took the firearms safety cert., pick out what we liked and went with the owner to fire them off. While at the range, we went over safety, how to load, proper techniques and more safety. We stayed a long time, by the time we left, we were both very comfortable with what we purchased and how to use it. Thank you to everyone at G4 for being there during these crazy times, when everyone else is home. We appreciate you!! read more

Extremely helpful! My fiancée and I went there just to buy ammunition and they turned us both into full time customers. We were having issues purchasing ammo due to the other local firearm store messed up paperwork. The staff at G4 literally went way out of their way to figure out the situation. All very friendly and helpful. We will be returning customers from here on. Very much appreciated read more

Finding a gun shop nearby that was still open was great. I was striking out elsewhere getting the ammo I wanted. G4 had what I wanted, I was in and out fairly quickly, they were friendly and helpful and I would go there again. read more

Scott provided excellent and friendly service. I was a first time gun buyer and he was patient in educating me and helping me pick out something that's right for me. He also provides training classes for new gun owners. Not sure what this guy Chris is talking about. If he has an opinion about another business he should leave his comments there. read more

Nice lady helped me out with no issues smart way of distributing ammo for the scavengers.... will be buying again.

Kind of a strange place? Husband went in for a box of .45 and was asked if he had bought a gun from their shop, when he told then no he was told they " weren't going to sell ammo to just anyone". Never heard of something like that before. Needless to say he didn't get any ammo, won't be purchasing a fire arm from here either. Do not recommend. read more

Great gun dealers, they were willing to stay an hour after closing. Helping me with a large amount of private firearm transfers during this corona virus madness. Although they were not the first place i called to assist me (literally called 15 ffl dealers) G4 was the only store in the north bay willing to help everywhere else didnt want to deal with this, theres not much money made off transfering firearms privately for dealers. But G4 was more than willing to help out! The staff does have a dry sense of humor which can take a second to catch on to but once you get it they're great. G4 really does place customer service first they easily could of blown me off but instead they worked with me and chose to stay late after a long days work. P.S. another customer also came late to pick a firearm they purchased. The customer didnt have proper paperwork with them, G4 allowed this customer to go home get the paperwork. Still getting their firearm that night! G4 really does place customer service very high on their list. read more

In a world where most businesses' primary focus is the bottom line, it's nice to find an owner who is passionate about the product and service he provides. It's always interesting to shop firearms as a female customer and Scott and his staff are informative without being condescending. Also, firearm education is clearly a priority at G4. The variety of topics and class accessibility is impressive. And Scott's approach is comfortable for adults and minors alike. In my opinion all of this makes the price point a pretty low priority. But if it's important to anyone else, the price point here is very competitive. read more
