Went to purchase a pair of shoes for a Christmas present. On checking out I brought out my military ID card...Cole Hahn no longer gives military discounts to a spouse. Only the person who served. This is even after showing the clerk on the CH website it says military members and their spouses and dependents. Disappointed in this CH store who is located 15 minutes from TRAVIS Air Force Base. Side note...called 3 other CH stores in area...they all do spousal and dependent military discounts! Update...called me back are going to start doing discounts to spouses. I like Cole Haan shoes. It is comfortable and durable. I have always check out their stores, outlets, or when I see them in the department stores. But this review is for this outlet store in Vacaville. This outlet store has more open spaces than most of the other Cole Haan outlet stores in the other outlet mall. I have found more seating available for shoes tryout and I like the layout of this store. This one is wider than a lot of the other Cole Haan stores which are very deep and dividing by multiple sections. This store in Vacaville is all opened in one big area with the cashier counter right in the center of the store. I don't have an oppressive feeling when I'm shopping in this store. The employees here are also more attentive and friendly. They will take the initiative to help. The last good thing about this store is they appear to have more sizes available. I can found my size a little easier here. I have a good shopping experience in the store. read more

Their shoes are TOOOOOPPPPP NOTCH!!! BUUUUUTTTTTTT. This is the first occasion I have ever experienced such feelings at this store. However, certain staff members may exhibit dishonesty and racial basis if you don't align with their perception of a typical customer for this brand. At the start of the month, I visited the store and bought 3 pairs of shoes. I enjoyed a day dedicated to myself, and naturally, I bought a pair of their renowned wingtips, a pair of their lovely loafers, and a pair of gold Cloudfeel Hampton Espadrille Sandals. Three weeks later, I came to the realization that the sandals were a half size too small, prompting my fiancé and me to drive three hours back to the store. We enter, yet we receive no acknowledgment. After approximately 10 minutes, the saleswoman chooses to come over and assist us. I explain that the size I have is too small and I would like to exchange them. I presented her with the receipt. She glared at me, her nose wrinkling in disdain. She took the receipt, seemed to examine it, but then glanced to the left and declared that all sales are final and returns are not permitted. I would like to emphasize that my intention is solely to exchange them. I glanced at her, mindful of the situation, took a deep breath, and exited, fully aware that she was mistaken and that we were being unfairly judged. Upon returning to the car, I informed my fiancée that she was mistaken, according to the details provided at the bottom of the receipt and the store policy. It was clearly stated that as long as I was within 30 days from the date of purchase, I could return or exchange any item. read more

I was seeking a pair of Lunarglide wingtips in black. I arrived to find them on display but not available in my size. I tried on an alternate pair to ensure that the size of my other Lunarglide pairs of shoes was still my correct sizing. Once I knew the size the salesperson called another store (in Texas) and ordered my shoes. A less than 5 minute conversation with the salesperson on the phone and I was done. The shoes were on their way via Fedex (shipping was only $20). 4 days later, my 60% off Lunarglides arrived on my doorstep in all their splendor. Easy. High quality. Amazing prices. read more

I have been a Cole Haan customer for many years, as I feel that they (typically) make very quality and comfortable heels for work and leisure. Over the years, I have spent over a thousand dollars on shoes at this store, and I have always received great service until today. Backstory: I went into the Cole Haan outlet on Sun, Jan 21 2024 in need of some new shoes for work. I bought two of the pumps and one flat shoe, totaling about $223 during this visit. I had a great buying experience with the gentleman that helped me. I wish I could remember his name. On Jan 23, 2024 I was going to wear the black pump to a work meeting, and I noticed that one of the pumps already had the nail exposed in the heel, and was already damaged. After reading the customer reviews on this particular Cole Haan pump, it is apparent that many other customers had the same experience, so I decided to return both colors in the pumps that I bought, and I changed my mind on the flats. This evening (Jan 25), I visited the Cole Haan store, and a lady named Marie helped me. I explained to her the reason for the return, and I was pretty frustrated because I have purchased many shoes from Cole Haan and never had this experience. As I was describing my disappointment in the item quality, she began making very unprofessional facial expressions. I asked her why she seemed taken aback by comments. Instead of easing my concerns as a client, she proceeded to have attitude, and turned the situation around on me (the customer) and said that she could not believe how I was treating her. I was surprised by this comment, as all the feedback I gave her was about my experience with the shoes, and she seemed to take it personally. I did not make it personal, I did not use any foul language, rather just share my experience. She finished my transaction continuing to have a terrible, condescending and unprofessional attitude. Marie should NOT be customer-facing. I am currently a Store Manager in a retail environment, and I would be fired for treating a customer like this, especially for sharing their feedback. This is also not the way that I would want my employees to act. I would expect them to take ownership and escalate the feedback to the manager. I requested to have a business card from a district manager, which she refused to give me, so I gave her my contact information. However, due to her lack of accountability during this interaction, I highly doubt that she will pass my information along. I would still like to hear from a district manager, thus leaving this review to make sure that I hear back from someone, and that no other client has this same experience. I love my Cole Haan shoes. I have 5 pair. There is a pair that I purchased at Nordstrom Rack in Seattle a few years ago that get me complements each time I wear them. Coming into this store I was totally disappointed by the selection of shoes. The majority of the shoes were soft soled "dress" shoes. I just wasn't my thing. Nor did anything on the shelf really stand out. As for the staff, I was asked if I needed help, told about the specials, and then followed to the women's section to meet up with my wife to hear the same thing even after telling him we were together. First let me say that I have been a fan of Cole Haan since 2001. The products is so fantastic I actually still have shoes from 01 in my collection. I mainly purchase mens's Shoes, belts, jackets and occasional bags, wallets. I know what Cole Haan represents. The reason I am giving this Vacaville Outlet a 1 star is because I went there on a Wednesday later afternoon this week. There were 2 workers. There was only 1 other customer trying on shoes unattended. I was the only other person that walked and I walked the entire store on the men's side and by the workers and neither one of them acknowledged my existence. They were busy chatting away and pretending they were stocking. My intentions that day was to buy a new wallet. Because of the workers lack of interests to the people walking into their store, I went to TUMI and purchased a wallet from them. My first TUMI wallet and love it! The manager their was amazing. Her product knowledge was impeccable! I will pass on Cole Haan for now and maybe they might do some customer service training and change it around. read more

As a previous reviewer stated, there are commission junkies out there, but none as bad as a worker here. This was the worst retail experience I have ever had in my life and it still haunts me to this very day. I came in here a few months ago with a friend who used to work at a different Cole Haan. Based on her recommendation, I decided to come in here to buy a new wallet since I always seem to ruin them somehow. Everything was good when we first entered. We were promptly acknowledged and asked if we needed help, but since I wanted to check out what else the store had to offer (since it was my first time at a Cole Haan), I declined politely. After looking around, I decide its time to go look at the wallets. In comes the commission junkie in sheep's clothing. She was not the person who greeted me, but she was willing to help and she seemed sweet at first. So while deciding which wallet I wanted, she was very nice and helpful. Everything was going smoothly until it was time to pay. They were having a sale on all the wallets so I came on a great day. Then my friend who used to work at another Cole Haan still had connections and I got even more of a discount. This must have pissed off the person helping me because she went from Dr. Jekll to Mr. Hyde in an instant. She did not say one word to me after we told her my friend wanted to use her discount to help me. I was the one purchasing the wallet and she only spoke to my friend after this as if my friend was the one buying the wallet. This is very unprofessional and I will never come to this particular Cole Haan again. I would give zero stars if I could for the service. Wallet is good, but not worth it for being treated like I was a homeless person shopping at, well, Cole Haan. I have reached a point in life where I can no longer afford cheap shoes. That begged the question of where to go to get shoes that will be stylish, comfortable, and durable, without paying for just specifically a name. After a fair amount of research, I ended up at the Cole Haan Factory Outlet store at the Vacaville Outlets. Let me just say: hit it out of the park. I left there with 2 pairs of business casual dress shoes, one black, one brown, for around $300 and have worn them to work, interchangeably on a daily basis since. A year and a half later, they remain very comfortable and are in excellent condition. I routinely receive complements on them (especially the brown pair) still, which I cannot recall ever happening with any other shoe I have ever owned. To put it into perspective, I walk a lot on cement in my job and would routinely destroy a pair of shoes i picked up at Sears or Penny's in about 6-8 months. These have some wear, but not much and I would be surprised if I don't get another year, year and a half out of them. The store was also a great experience. The sales staff struck a nice balance between being present and attentive on the one hand and giving you space to browse and and not feel brow-beaten on the other. They knew their product well and did a nice job of learning what you wanted and giving options that were in keeping with that. They offer options for having your shoes stretched if needed (I didn't so can't comment) and maintained with folks whose work they stand behind. They also stand behind their product, guaranteeing your satisfaction. That is clearly an easy guarentee for them to make, given the very high quality of that product. Show these shoes a little polish every few months and you will be so satisfied, you won't believe it. read more

While some people rely heavily on serious anti-depressants to lift their depressive moods, I rely solely on shoes. A sweet pair of Steve Madden combat boots will mend my broken heart any day. Another pair of BDG oxfords and I will be in a complete state of euphoria. Perhaps borderline manic with a touch of rabidity. Shoes tend to also have an adverse effect on me that cause me to become overly obsessive and foam at the mouth. But for the most part, shoes are my euphoric drug. As much as I love shoes, I dread certain shoe stores based on their shoe sellers. Shoe sellers that rely heavily on commission are commission junkies. They will squeeze every bit of customer service running through their veins just to get a sale out of you. But sadly, their attempts are hyper stimulated and quite intrusive. I entered Cole Haan not looking for anything in particular. The BF gets a good discount from this store since the company he works for is also affiliated with Cole Haan so I thought a little browsing couldn't hurt. As I entered the store, a sweet pair of cognac colored penny loafers caught my attention. As I swiftly mazed through the shoe displays, I quickly caught the attention of a commission junkie. I saw her, sharking her way towards me. Dilated pupils, open mouth, ready to burst with hyper stimulated customer service. "HI!-HELLO!-howyadoing!-lookingforanythinginparticular? everythingwehavehereisonsale-wouldyouliketotrythatinyoursize? wehavemoresizesintheback. letmeknowifyouneedanyhelp!... ::takes deep breath finally:: MY NAME IS (blank)" As I grabbed a box containing a pair of those sweet penny loafers, she came my way again, asking more hyper stimulated questions and ruining the sweet solitude between those beautiful penny loafers and my existence. I couldn't concentrate. I wanted to be left in the privacy of my own thoughts as I tried on a pair of shoes without having someone swarming me every couple seconds asking if I wanted to try them in another size or if I needed a pair of socks or if there's anything else I need help with. No, no, and no. Please stay behind your counter and let me please gaze at my beautiful feet without hearing another peep out of you. Despite the vicious sea of commission junkies (I wasn't attacked by just one, rather two), I was actually impressed by the selections they offered for an outlet store. A couple other pairs of shoes caught my attention as did their wallets, accessories and such. The prices weren't bad either and those penny loafers... I'll be back for you. But most likely through their online store where there aren't hungry commission junkies eying you for a sale. read more

Came in here all in a fluster looking for a pair of men's dress shoes for a wedding I was to attend in Sac. Ignition nigh at 6; I arrived at CH at 5. Out by 5:20, dressed in new belt, socks and a pair of rad dress shoes. No sense of "commission junkies" but nothing against them either. Look, I get it. This is what motivates people to provide above&beyond service, not your desire to get the absolute deepest discount you can conjure up. Get realistic. I'm sure when you work on commission its kind of hard to hide the disappointment of seeing that your actual cut will be less because of a discount they didn't know about it, but put yourself in their shoes; let's all hold hands and breathe through this one. We all want to earn money for doing something we're good at. The salesman who helped me was Sam. Maybe I was lucky (or he was) that I was willing to pay what it costs for a quality product, and was grateful for the prompt, but unobtrusive, service. He didn't try to upsell me anything, even when I grabbed a leather jacket (this would have been a total impulse purchase) that was one size too small, and, even seeing I was willing to buy it, gently nudged me toward at least allowing him to see if he had the correct size for me in the back. This bought me 2 minutes to reconsider that while getting a new lambskin jacket would rock, even if it fit, maybe it'd be better to wait until I got what I needed for the wedding, outerwear not being on the list. Expressing this, Sam didn't appear to back pedal on what he said just to sell me a $200 jacket for his own gain. Rather, he simply directed me to where I could instantly change into my outfit! Only after seeing some of these reviews decrying apparent intravenous addiction to getting a piece of your sales purchase, I realized that it was probably not about Sam. If it was, well, Sam, you go dude: make that money. You deserve it. read more

I live out of the state so I did a phone order for a pair of pumps. Sadly I found out that not only were they sent to the incorrect address but were delivered to another completely different address. Fedex was no help and pretty much told me that I was SOL since they were already delivered. I called the Cole Haan store and the gentleman instantly began investigating. He searched Google maps and spent about 45 minutes calling several places around that area, and finally found where they had been delivered. Luckily, it was at a business rather than another home. He requested they stay open late until I arrived and was able to pick up my beautiful shoes. Not only was the Cole Haan sales associate extremely apologetic, but he had shown me what true customer service is. When I opened my package, I found heel pads and sole inserts which were awesome extras that they had included with my order :) The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is because my correct address was not entered in the first place. read more
