Vacay frita was just average except for a few bites that were pretty flavorful. A squeeze of lime on them really helped but I had to borrow that lime from my beer. The sweet plantains were really good and the rice and beans were regular good. Bartender provided really good, attentive service. read more

Service sucks! If you want to feel invisible then this is your place! I waited 10 minutes to get seated on a Sunday afternoon with servers walking passed me constantly, had to hunt down a waiter to take my order, couldn't find anyone to get me another drink even though they were all waiting around dancing to merengue. If I hadn't already ordered and had more time I would've walked out. Take your money elsewhere, not worth the disrespect. read more

If you're in MIA make sure to make a pit stop here, you won't be disappointed! Food and service is fantastic. The palomilla is delicious. One of the best places to dine at in the airport! read more

Quick and easy lunch. Two eggs with rice black beans and sweet platano. German (pronounced Her-man) , my server was a friendly smiling pleasure. I was asked if I wanted any meat on the side, which I declined. I was pleasantly surprised to find some pork had been used to flavor the black beans: Cuban style, perfect! read more

Good in a pinch, but not worth the money. "Hash browns" are actually small quarter sized McDonalds fried hash brown look-a-likes. French toast was thin and small, and scrambled eggs came from powder or a carton. Service was fast initially, but our waitress didn't ask us if we wanted water, and she wasn't very engaging. This place is ok if you don't care and just need food, but is DEFINITELY not worth the money. read more

The food is perfectly acceptable. I have lightly breaded chicken which basically treated like a giant chicken finger. The rice and beans were good, but it's hard to get that wrong. My mother wanted the skirt steak, but they had run out. She ended up getting a different kind, which she said was also just ok. My dad's Cuban was not terribly flavorful. There was too much cheese and the pickles were not flavorful enough. The one good thing was the fried yucca they give you as an appetizer. The sauce they serve with it was also good. That being said, the service was very good. The waiters were extremely friendly, and we were never waiting long for our food. Considering it's in an airport, the food is pretty much as good as you'd expect it to be. read more

I am visiting from San Diego, excited of trying all this excellent food. We went to town and eat at Punto Criollo (excelente- 100 % recomendado)people was so helpful and nice we were really impressed , we went back to the airport and decided to try this Ku-Va restaurant. They were so rude, I don't think food is worth it when they treat you like that. I went in, I had a to go plate in my hand from another restaurant for my husband, my daughter and I wanted Cuban food, one of the ladies asked me from where was that food, I told her I don't understand why that matters, don't worry we are not planning to eat it here, is for my husband, then she told me, " is a minimum of 10 dlls to eat here" I wanted to leave but my daughter stopped me. I didn't want it to embarrass her so I stayed. The ladies on the to go area, are slow and rude also, well one of them. I ask for my stuff and then I told her she was missing one and she said is because you didn't ask for it, so why did she charged it then? So we won't come back ever and b... I can not only spend 10 dlls, I can buy the place if I wanted to read more

Don't get the Cuban sandwich. Ironic, right? I had to drown it in ketchup to even taste it. I've had better Cuban sandwiches at chain restaurants. Oh, and the hostess wanted me to second guess my entry into this establishment because of their overpriced deli meat. Skip it and go to Church's Chicken. read more

One of the best airports restaurants I've dined at in a while now. The Cuban Sandwich was delic, black bean soup was great and I enjoy an always delicious mojito! Great job!! read more

The cheapest breakfast you will eat inside the airport. They serve Latin cuisine. There is a sit-down part of the restaurant & a take away window for those who don't have time. read more

Heading home to SF we decided to have one more taste of Cuban food. We were not disappointed. My picadillo and my wife's ropa vieja were fine. The sides, moros and platano maduro were the real deal. The food was served within minutes of ordering and that was nice for an airport restaurant. read more

Very trendy and cool looking place. I say at the bar and found the service to be courteous and slow. The piña colada was ok; it annoyed me that I was encouraged to pay extra for Bacardi rum. I refused the up charge and got house rum not good. The yucca fries were a generous potion but were more like fritters than fries. The white rice was fine. Still great considering what airport food was like 20 years ago. read more

Well seasoned food, very tasty! While on a layover from Curaçao, I'm happy I made the decision to eat here. This food was better than the food at the resort I visited. I had the chicken chicharrón and loved every bite served with marinated onions rice beans and sweet plantains. I had the Yellow rice and a side of black beans were so flavorful. 3 pieces of sweet plantains come with the meal and it was so tasty. Tasted the fish filet, and it was also tasty. I would come back, next time I'm in Miami. The food was filing and I was comfortably full for my comnecting flight. Saw some people order from the buffet, however we dined inside the restaurant, service was great and it had nice ambiance for an airport restaurant. Didn't care for the hard seats so we requested to be moved to a booth where the seating was more comfortable. They have a drink menu which looks tasty as well. I love Tequila but didn't try any here. Many people are drawn in from the display of the food at the entrance & the life like statue of a woman near the food. I saw children touching the statue and the food . No complaints for this place. read more

Probably the best mojito I've ever had at 11:30am while waiting for my layover. Food was amazing, service was great. My server was very hospitable. I wish this place was in NY.if it was I would definitely go again. read more

HUGE SCAM! First of all, they told us their tap water was unfiltered and not clean, so they recommended we buy 2 large water bottles for a family of 6. They ended up charging us $18 for the bottles of WATER!! Next, they didn't have many of the items that were listed on the menu: no vegetables, no green sauce, etc. The food itself was ok, very average. read more

Awful service. I asked 5 people for sugar for my tea. Never got it. Barely got silverware. Forget about asking for salt etc. hash browns tasted like fish so probably fried them in the same oil. read more

They brag about their mojitos and yes, they have earned that right. The food is really succulent. I'm not an expert on Cuban food, but I am on delicious food and this restaurant has delicious food. The waiter really helped me out since I wasn't familiar with the cuisine. He was polite and in true Cuban fashion, thought I was crazy for eating and leaving as quickly as possible. read more

Breakfast is definitely not their strong suit. You're better off just buying an empanada from their counter right outside the restaurant. Reminds me of cafeteria food, but nothing the Miami-way. read more

This is a great place to relax and enjoy a nice meal if you have a long layover in MIA. The dining area is pleasant and well lit, the service is friendly and the Cuban food is great. I loved the Cuban Sandwich and the fish was well seasoned and fresh. All the sides (fries, black beans, rice and plantains) were tasty as well. I would definitely come here again if I am ever in MIA. read more

I had a decent wait before my flight so I decided to try something a little local. I ordered the chicken, rice, and plantains and everything was prepared and seasoned well! It was definitely one of the better restaurants that I have tried, especially being in an airport. Would come back again. read more

Terrible customer service. Three women standing at the cashier talking about how they slept. They totally ignored me until I asked to pay my sandwich. I was in a hurry to get to a flight but there's another Cuban cafe in the same terminal, so don't come here. The sandwich was okay. read more

Best restaurant to eat at if your here. Don't waste your money on going to La Carreta. Trust me, I work here .

I am a HUGE fan of Cuban food and I eat here every time I am in the Miami airport. It is authentic and consistently excellent.

Better than expected. The pork on the Cuban sandwich was tender, and the plantains were tasty. All in all, it was much better than most airport food, although you wouldn't know from the 45 minute wait to go to Wendy's next door. ... lol read more

Tasteless (really cheap ingredients & amateur prep), overpriced ($50 for 2) breakfast. Imagine a McDonald's breakfast at $25 per person.

Ku-va is perfectly adequate. During a layover here, we sought to avoid the $9 hotdog and soda meal at Nathan's, so we landed at Kuva. Prices aren't bad (considering the worse ripoff that is the fastfood at this airport). We had the burger and Cuban sandwich, both were tasty and well made, but they were nothing special. The fries are probably the best part, battered for a satisfying crisp/crunch. Service was attentive enough. Not a bad place to eat if you have a longer layover. read more

I got the Cuban sandwich. There were hardly any pickles and no mustard. My wife got the mani-mahi. Mashed potatoes were just plain. Waitress kept hounding us over trying to get us to order appetizers. Off-duty waitress is eating at the table next to us with her smartphone loudly playing a television show. Not a place where we'd want to eat again. read more

Waitstaff not eager to serve. Receptionist or Maitre D not eager to attend travelers. 7:40 and it seemed like they were near closing. I could see guests in the lounge trying to get attention. At the airport, there should be more attention for prompt service. Disappointing read more

Place isn't that good there are some better spots I'd you are willing to walk down a couple gates. The only good thing about this is there usually isn't a line. read more

My wife and I had a layover here so we stopped at Ku-Va and tried the Cuban Sandwich and the Picadillo plate. Both were delicious!

I had the number six and it was a bit too salty. By the end of the meal, my throat felt so parched.

Always the best restaurant in the Miami airport. Jorge Romero is one of the fine waiters and waitresses here who always make the visit a delight. I usually order Pork Chunks (#9) as the classic cuban meal. It never, ever disappoints. read more

Charged gratuity for a party of 2. The service was terrible and she knew she would not get a tip, so she charged us gratuity and told us that it was the policy of the entire airport to charge gratuity for everyone. Dont go here unless you want to overtip for terrible service. Her name is GiGi, dont let her be your bartender read more

Can't remember what it was called but we had the fried beef, with rice, black beans and plantains. The food was delicious! We sat at the bar and service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Would definitely come back here and try something else. Only bottled beer available, no draft. read more

Good place to grab a quick bite before your flight. The lomo saltado is very flavorful, and the plantains and rice and beans are both very tasty as well. The Cuban sandwich was average to good, but it definitely beats airplane food. Service can be a little slow, and their menu is extensive so you'll need time to go through it. read more

Not sure what the haters are talking about. Everything we got was delicious. Soup was great, the empanadas were tender and delicious, no sauce needed, and the lechon was very authentic. Service was great, amazing mojito and margarita. Will be a pit stop of ours every time in this airport read more

Wow. Didn't expect good food in an airport. We had the plantain chips, steak, pork, chicken and quesadilla. All were excellent. Will visit the next time we get to MIA. read more

Beware, do not buy anything from this restaurant. I bought a $7 fruit bowl with a molded grape in it. I went back 5 minutes later to return it and they refused to refund or exchange without a receipt. They knew that I had purchased it from them, but I didn't receive a receipt. Three of the staff were going back & forth with me saying they needed a receipt. Finally the cashier searched her trash can and found my receipt and gave me a refund. If it wasn't bad enough that they sold me molded food that could've made me sick, but for them not to try and fix the problem, only made it worst. Terrible customer service experience! read more

not quite as good as Tortas in O'Hare, but way above average for airport food - had the ropa vieja with beans, rice, and plantains. Would stop here again in a minute. read more

While waiting on a long layover at MIA, my wife and I researched our choices for dinner ...our options were hopeless, until we discovered Ku-Va. The wait staff was professional and attentive. We ordered the Empanaditas Matanzeras (chicken) for an appetizer and entrees of Filete de Pollo Empanizado and Ropa Vieja Islena. Even though we chose this place because of the high reviews, we were still surprised by the quality of the food for an airport! The appetizer was plentiful and delicious ...the Filete was traditional and authentic ...the beef in the Ropa was perfectly cooked and the plantains were sweet and moist. Confirming our high review of Ku-Va was the occupations of some other patrons: flight crews and airport police ...these folks know the good spots! read more
