Easily the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. Not sure why you would ever shape a nail like this. Very minimal time was spent on cleaning the cuticles and dead skin and there is polish all over my skin. Not to mention, they charged me an extra $5 for removing my previous gel polish which was a first. Still, I was under the impression that a regular pedicure is $25, plus $5 for the nail kit (because of covid, so certain utensils aren't shared for multiple people. Fine, I get that), and then $5 to remove the gel polish and was charged $38. Doesn't add up. Anyway, I'm now out $45 (since I'm not a dick, I still tipped) and had to fix the shape and polish when I got home. read more

Went to salon for a waxing. No greeting as I walked to counter. Absolutely nothing said to me. A young white lady walks in & the owner immediately greeted her --very happily & then asked what would she like to have done. Now he was sitting in the same chair position when I walked in & said absolutely NOTHING!! This salon is located in a predominantly black neighborhood & salon owned by Asians. Do not go here if you care about your health. I went for a pink and white full set in mid March. I took the acrylics off about two weeks later and my entire left hand has a fungus. I did not go to anyone else in the meantime. I took them off after noticing yellow crust between the acrylic and the fingertip. (Ew. Gross). I never had anything like this in my life. I am paranoid about my health to the point that I bring my own nail polish and I still caught something from there. Now I have to go to a doctor to get a remedy. Absolutely Unhappy I never been treated so badly I Ask for a red color I was enjoying my pedicure and when I open my eyes I have pink on my toes over the lady told me that the color is this color because my toenails are dark I am a black woman and I do not have dark toenail they are pink just like everyone else's and I had Ferrari red on my finger nails and toes before. So when I asked her to take it off she started yelling and actually slammed my foot down I'm thinking about pressing charges but I don't know if I could. Then when it came time to my nails they didn't give me what I want I want to overlay they end up putting clear tips on my nails and charge me $55 for the tips and I have them extremely short. I don't like the shape of my toes and I don't like the shape of my nails and I've never had anyone tell me that my toes were dark I felt like she was so racist my skin is dark skin my toenail bed is pink and white just like everyone else's I wish I didn't have this ugly stuff on my toes to show you but the kicker is the other girl that fix the color how did she get myself nails red is the first girl that was racist said that my color came out like this because my toes was dark. I've been here twice and both times the customer service was awful. Pedicure was painful and took forever despite me being the only customer in the store. I don't care at all if technicians chat with each other while working, but the person doing my nails literally stopped to have a 15 minute conversation with another employee. Did a shoddy job while laughing it up, totally distracted by the conversation she was having. Legit wasn't even looking while doing my nails. KT used to be my go to nail salon up until a month ago. I went a month ago to get a set of acrylics with white and gold flakes for a date party i was attending. I was really hoping my set would be gorgeous but was sadly disappointed. My nails were different shapes, crooked and the foil was done horribly. Two days after i got my set one of my nails broke just by washing my hair. Then, a week later a different nail broke. I've never had my nails break so quickly after being done. $41 dollars later looking with a set of nails that look like i did them myself. i've had friends go between the time i got my set and their nails also do not look good. Worst service I've ever experienced. I got my nails and feet done 3 days ago. After a long wait, they rushed everything. My fill is uneven distributed and the nails are thin. One broke already and 2 others are cracking on the side. Pedicure- I still have dead skin,no top coat, and the polished is coming off. Mind you she barely filed and the paint job is poor. Dude... never going here again. Was asked if they had chrome and the woman said yes. It was the dip and she had no idea what she was doing. The black polish underneath wasn't even dry all the way before she started putting it on. She pretended like she didn't notice that it wasn't sticking to some parts of the nail that are still bare and black as shown in the pictures. Worse 57$ I've ever spent. The shape and sizes of the nails were not even the same. It felt very rushed and sloppy. Embarrassed that I have to walk around like this for another 2 weeks. This place was pretty packed for a Friday night. I decided to try it out. It's not the nicest salon, and was quite dusty. Color selection for regular polish was depleted. There was ONE light pink out of about 200. Very disappointed. There was hardly any OPI. They had Essie and a lot of other brands I had never heard of. They looked cheap to be honest. I needed a simple manicure. My nails were soaked for all of 30 seconds and he started snipping. No problem, it didn't hurts hat much while he was doing it. He didn't do a good job at pushing my cuticles back/ trimming the rest of the skin/ nail. I had to ask him to go back and redo one nail. He sort of stopped and stared at me like I offended him. He cleaned up my nails rather quickly and left a lot behind. Not super happy about that. My favorite part is getting my nails cleaned up. Filing the nails. Zero stars. I had a spilt nail and he paid zero attention to that. I wanted square and they were all sorts of shapes. He barely paid attention to the filing or length of the nail. The massage lasted for maybe 30 seconds and was the worst massage. No pressure at all. I understand being busy but show attention to your current client. The salon was quite busy so maybe I just came at the wrong time? Maybe they are a decent salon? My experience was quite terrible though. $18 later and I had a terrible mani. read more

That was my first visit there and my last. I was referred to KT Nail Salon by a friend and when I tell you that I've had nothing but GREAT quality service from day one. Went for the first time to this nail salon Thursday (2/13/20) and am super disappointed that my nails are ALREADY ruined. I got dip on my nails which I have been getting for the past two years... I have always gone to the same salon but thought I would give this salon a try... which was a huge mistake. On top of it being WAY more expensive the gel topcoat they put peeled of three of my fingers the first day...??? The other salon I go to has a top coat specific for dip powder and I never had to put it under a UV light but they did and I trusted these "professionals" in what they were doing. It was my mistake going to this place... and would not recommend for dip. Doug and his wife are so professional and know exactly what they are doing. Every time I would go somewhere else to get my nails done he would have to end up fixing them. If u been getting your nails done for years then u know what should and should not be done and he has help educate me on the process as well. Whenever I've ever had an issue prior to going to him full time he would immediately fix the problem. I've also seen Him work with other customers who have had issues with not liking a color or the shape of their nails and he reluctantly oblige. I would recommend KT Nails to anyone who wants it professionally done by an old school artist who loves his craft and who have been doing nails way before all of this new technology but has educated himself with time. I went on a Thursday, and when I made my appointment, I specifically requested someone who was good at nail art. Unfortunately, My nail tech was not paying attention to me and was on her phone the entire time. I asked for specific artwork and she had completely failed at it. I would have so much rather her tell me she can't do the design that I specified!! Just be honest. But I didn't complain at the time because, although it wasn't what I wanted, overall the manicure was decent. But come Tuesday, only a few days later, my DIP nails began to chip in MULTIPLE places!! My gel manicure lasted less than a week. This isn't my usual salon but I gave it a try because my salon was booked and I couldn't make an appointment. This is my new place. They have the newest coolest polishes. They are clean and efficient, centrally located, have good massage chairs, and can usually get to you as a walk-in in a half hour or less. I've been to all of the high-end salons in Richmond, including the West End locations where the wine is complimentary and the notoriously luxe Red Door- so when I say this place hands-down has the best shellac mani for the money, I mean it. It's not just because we have the same initials either, that's just a weird fluke. Full, flawless shellac manicure and removal in 45 minutes, quality products, lots of color options. Is it cute? If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. The lady who did my nails was rude. The polish on my nails was clumpy, it was on my skin, and parts of my nail didn't even have paint on them! On top of that she clipped my skin and made me bleed. I made them take the polish off and I didn't bother asking them to re-do them. My friend came with me and she was just as unhappy as I was. After all of this she still made me pay $45!!!!!!! I sat there for 2 and a half hours for nothing! I should have just walked out. Don't even consider this place.
