I spend quite a bit at Kroger, and the Gwinnett Street, downtown store is my least favorite. You'll wait in lines much of the time, or you'll be forced to use their self serve kiosk. Additionally, narrow aisles make shopping difficult. Additionally, their parking lot is a popular spot for homeless, or those down on their luck, to ask for money.

The only reason I go here is because of Starbucks and it's really close to my job. The Starbucks is definitely a 5 star but Kroger not so much. They don't enforce the mask policy all the time and it's ALWAYS busy with only 2 checkout lines open. I went into Kroger to get candy for the office and I was there most of my hour break just waiting in line. The aisles are always crowded and not with people but with products and boxes etc.

Blocking the Valentine's aisle on Valentine's Day ‍

Killin' my Valentine's vibe. The location of this store is close to my home and conveniently placed near the heart of Savannah. The staff are helpful and immediately put my basket back when I was done shopping. This is where things go south. It was Valentine's Day and very busy. Flowers, cards and a myriad of other gifts were leaving the store when I arrived around 11am. So why were employees blocking the dedicated Valentine's aisle during my entire visit and did not appear to be completed when I was leaving? (See photograph.) Not only were employees blocking the holiday aisle, there was another large rack needing to be unloaded while an employee stayed glued to her cell phone. Most aisles in the store were in the same unfortunate state while many customers struggled to sneak by the stocking staff. It was an unfortunate time to be doing this type of work. Please Kroger, help us lovers out on this day and clear those aisles so we can get back to our loved ones. Thanks in advance for next year.

Out of town visitor here. Store was old and poorly lit and didn't seem very clean. Having said that they had lots of selection.

The store is pretty large with a very expensive fresh produce and fresh meat section, but the highlight is definitely the fish market. They have a ton of variety and will prep fillets or cut the fish in any practical way you can come up with. And service is top notch across the store and especially in the fish market. The best part about the store is the small café adjacent to the seafood market that serves Boba crispy pork belly and crispy duck! I just recently relocated to Savannah and was disappointed to find a lack of Boba shops in the area, so I'm definitely excited about finding this one. We will definitely be frequenting this store for a lot of our fresh produce fresh, fish, and our Boba fix.

They have a wide variety of everything from produce, fruits and vegetables to there meat and seafood department. I see that they also have the additional coffee area, which is great. They even have the market in the back, which has a lot of regular household items that you may need like sodas, cleaning products and every day items. The only thing that is a bit concerning for me, is the coffee shop area is right next to the seafood area and the seafood smells are very very strong at times. At times making it a little intimidating when wanting to purchase fresh coffee or food items right next-door at the coffee shop. But overall, I think it's a really great market. Sometimes the customer service can be a little scarce, I'm not sure if this is because there's somewhat of a language barrier at times depending on the available employees; as they are not always the friendliest. The prices are very reasonable. I generally have no problems finding a parking space and I am able to get in and out within a few minutes.

It was also really interesting how you didn't have one singular server, but instead, they all rotated and checked on you continuously. It was not traditional, but it worked very well. Maybe other restaurants should take note lol! Food was so incredibly fresh, pasta was hot. It was amazing. The only negative about the food is that they don't make their bread or desserts. It was shipped in from a central factory (and you could tell compared to how fresh everything else was). I also wish they had a fountain beverage station. Every drink you'd need to get was in a bottle in a big coke cooler. This place is definitely very small (I think they would benefit from making their shelving areas where they sell their pasta, smaller, and putting in more tables instead). You could also tell there wasn't enough room in the back for the employees because I was waiting in line for the restroom and had to move multiple times because the servers come in and out of there. There's only one little tiny restroom in the back corner. It was also really cool how you could see everything being made in the back. There was a whole factory behind a glass window where they were making the pasta fresh. It was amazing!! The building needs a facelift but everything else was AMAZING!!

This store in particular is fairly large with a pretty expansive format, but a lot of the merchandising left me confused. For instance, I was looking for lemonade, and I noticed that it is carried in 3 to 4 different locations across the produce juice and deli sections. It made it extremely frustrating trying to figure out whether or not they carried Milo's lemonade, which I eventually discovered they carried every milo's product except the lemonade??? Not really sure what the rationale behind that is given the lemonade is the most popular sku in the brand. Anyway, I digress. The second thing that I find a little challenging with Publix is understanding what the actual deals are standing at shelf. I couldn't really tell what was on sale, what wasn't and what the real values were. I'm assuming this information is probably buried in a sales flyer, which I probably need to pick up the next time. That being said, I found overall service in the store to be decent but even given the number of employees walking around in the store I don't think I've was ever really been greeted or offered help without asking first.
