Aldi offers good variety, great prices and a friendly environment! I'll admit that having a Quarter for the buggies and bringing my own bags or purchasing them was defintely different for me. I'm glad that I pushed beyond my initial apprehension. Nothing fancy but just want you need. I always do self-checkout but my interactions with the staff have been pleasant. Just a warning/precaution when purchasing meets from this place, especially ground turkey pay attention to the expiration date and look at it and smell it as best as you can to see if the freshness is good or not because I purchased a ground turkey from here and when I got home to cook it, it was OK, but it was a little mushy so after me and my husband ate it, we end up having diarrhea all day and night and I cooked the meat fully, but I don't think it was as fresh as it was supposed to be so just be careful people read more

I went there for opening day and it was crowded in there obviously, but I was expecting that, but not so much that there was a line to get in. I am so excited that a second Aldi location has opened around this area, this time, across the street from Target on Abercorn which is so convenient, but I'm also in trouble now! In true Aldi Grand Opening fashion, they had staff walking around the store offering samples of various products and extra staff stocking and answering questions. The store was fully stocked with all of the items, especially what the Aldi Nerds call the "Aisle of Shame/Sh!t/Surprises" LOL. Found some flannel holiday sheets, holiday PJs, storybook and Nutcracker advent calendars for my kids in the AOS, so needless to say, I did good! The staff working the cash registers were very efficient in checking people out and extra staff on hand handing out carts with quarters already set up, flyers, reusable bags (usually on opening day, they give out reusable bags and paper bags free of charge) and the cute Aldi branded quarter holder keychains. - Heads Up - You need a quarter to check out their cart. This is so that you bring the carts back to the front and they don't have to hire someone to manage them and in turn, they pass the savings to you. You need your own reusable bags or be prepared to buy more reusable bags or pay for paper ones. Better for the environment. Aldi Finds: Marked with red tags. If you see something you like, buy it now because it's true when they say, here today, gone tomorrow. It's a special buy so that's all they have. Seasonal: self explanatory. I'm kinda miffed that my favorite cheese, Raclette, is in this category. Cut appropriately and the lowest price around! The holidays are fast approaching and they have tons of products in this category. My friend recently got me hooked on what looks like chocolate Pringles (no potatoes involved) because they are shaped like the chip! Comes in 3 flavors. It has been five years since I shopped at an Aldi, so this new branch was an excuse to return. It is hit and miss with new inventory. I used to like some of the European options, but maybe due to the tariff situation it was less so. There are good deals with bread and some fruits and vegetables. I picked up some items from the deli selection as they have a variety of cheeses and dips. I also discovered some German chocolates and biscuits. I would not make a special trip, but it is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area as you might spot some novel items. There are an assortment of frozen meals and small selection of alcoholic beverages. This store is smaller than others out of this chain, but the aisles are wide and easy to navigate. If you have never been to an Aldi. Bring a quarter for a cart deposit and shopping bags unless you want to purchase them at the cashier. This location is in the same complex as Walmart and Verizon. Make sure to turn before you get onto the expressway. read more

I have friends that Love Aldi, so I thought I'd give it a try. Overall, a pleasant shopping experience, reasonable prices = money saved, bring your own shopping bags. The only item I thought overpriced was the $2 Aldi plastic shopping bag that is located at checkout. At the entrance, an employee was wiping down carts and handing off to entering customers during this Covid19 time. Some of my observations: *They sell much of their own brand so prices are very reasonable. *Shopping is easy with wide aisles and items easy to find. *Check out their "Aldi Finds" aisles that features deals of the week. These weekly featured items cover a variety of "finds" from toys, to outdoor cushions, to food items and everything in between. *While they don't have a large selection of cheeses, I did find some unique cheeses. I was surprised to see Cheese Curds that are typically non existent in the south. *Their small selection of beer included Holland, German and Belgium imports, as well as, domestic craft: Terrapin - Athens GA and a few others. *Wine? They have a small selection, too. You'll find whites, Rose, reds, sangria, and sparkling. Domestic wines and a few Italian imports. *They even carry a limited amount of garden supplies. I feel like every time I come here the check out line is always miles long. They don't have a "line starts here" so there are usually two lines, Then the employees tell one line to move to the other and it's just a mess. They are always stocking the groceries at the busiest time of the day making it even more crowded. It's like they only have 3 people working the entire store read more

Yay! I am so happy Aldi has finally arrived in striking distance of downtown Savannah, Georgia. I have been a fan of Aldi for many years (over 20), and I have never had a bad shopping experience in this store, especially with the fruits and vegetables. They are ripened and harvested when they are vine ready. I appreciate the low costs and the determination to try to keep the prices a little lower than everyone else. I appreciate the brands that are of quality without the fancy commercial branding that leads to higher prices for the consumer, but Aldi is much wiser, without compromising on the product. For approximately two months I have been experiencing friends tell me with excitement an Aldi is being built on Abercorn. I didn't understand the hype / excitement until I visited. I found the store to be welcoming the moment I pulled into the parking lot which has decent size parking spaces. The store has automatic doors, is bright in color, spacious aisles and items are displayed. Exploring the store I immediately noticed the freshness of the produce. Second several items on the shelf was priced lower than I'm used to seeing at other stores. I definitely will do some future shopping here. read more

I was there today at 9:30, half an hour after it's opening. There was one register open with one cashier and more than 8 customers in line. Another worker walked through the checkout area but did not open a register. I left without completing my purchases. I find the message sent from management in such situations is: We don't care. We think you will put up with it. The prices are not always lower here and it isn't worth it to me to wait half an hour in line. (There is no self-checkout) read more

This was my first time in here and I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I wanted and did not find was rice milk. I was able to purchase organic sides, snacks, fruits, veggies and healthy chicken and turkey, etc. I'll be back! NOTE: remember to bring your bags and your quarter. read more

We went to Aldi thinking it would be a great new place to save on grocerys. NOT! The prices are way too high and you had trouble getting down the isles because of the stockers! Some of the produce was rotten. The people working there were not friendly at all. We will never go back. read more

First time in an Aldi and i was not happy did not buy groceries. While the store was clean and stock was organized the entire store from entrance to back smelled of spoiled milk. That smell in my stores are limited to cooler, not this store. Maybe get this fixed and i will try again. read more

I was recently shopping in store #88 and had less than 10 items in my bag their was one guest in front of me and about 3 guests waiting patiently behind me. Sarah walks up to her associates register and closes off his register so that he could take his break from what I overhear, Sarah then proceeds to tell the guests who were all waiting behind me to come get checked out in her line and tells me to get in the back of the line I frowned upon her actions towards me and lack and acknowledgement of me standing there patiently waiting in line. #DisappointedAfricanAmericanwoman read more

Celiac family, new to the area. Aldi's Live G Free items were a staple back home. The stores near us always carried a good variety. I was hopeful for the same here, but sadly, I only found 1 GF item on my recent trip to this store (frozen gf chicken pieces). No pastas, no frozen ravioli, no muffin/biscuit mixes, nada. The shelves all looked pretty picked over, but I'm really hoping this was a one off experience and I'll be back to try again and will update my review accordingly. read more

First and only time ever going in this store. Went in with my father. Store was nice, was expecting a bigger selection but that's not the issue. Only have one register open, and there is no one there. The couple in front of us had been waiting for at least 5-6 minutes. Finally guy comes to register and when it's our turn doesn't even ask if I want to put my things in a bag that I was going to pay for since I had a handful of items. He just scans and throws my items in a cart, nothing was fragile like eggs but still don't throw my stuff. Y dad goes to take our cart back out to get the quarter you have to deposit and then the dude acts like a dick because he was going to trade buggies. He got an attitude when my dad says we had a cart. I pay as my dad walks off and he has smart remarks to say about my dad. I hear him continuously talking trash to the next customer about my dad saying he had his own cart already. So yes I told him to stop talking it was over and done with. It was just a miscommunication between my dad about swapping out the carts and the dude was a dick about it. So thanks for the first and only visit from this customer. the store is very clean unfortunately there is not very many European items available like cakes in the freezer then I had a very bad experience on Friday as I'm walking through the aisles and a young employee putting stuff on the Shelf disinfecting bottles there was no price tag attached to her I asked her could you tell me please how much a bottle is she said no I work here stocking shelves I find this very sad that they hire a person like that she could have stopped went to her manager and ask how much the product is this would never happen in Germany perhaps when they hire their employees they have to go to a special class proper etiquette towards customers I will not be going back to the store I will be spending my hard-earned money in another grocery store. read more
