I just purchased a membership a few months ago and with all the little discounts and various incentives, it has really been worth it. This is your standard Costco location with only a couple of notable layout differences. Number one, the gas station is upfront and directly along side the main entrance so you won't have trouble finding it, like you do in some other Costco locations across the country. Secondly, the parking lot feels a bit compressed based on the overall size of the club, so I would advise taking the first space you see because they won't be much available upfront. Other than that, this was a pretty standard experience with about a 40 minute car door to car door timeframe to pick up a couple of items. I really wish they could figure out the log jam of a cashier line that consistently backs up into the front section of the store. But that may just be a necessary evil when you are giving consumers great prices on massive amounts of products. read more

This is one of the calmest Costcos I have ever been in. It was almost peaceful when we went. I hardly ever have that feeling here! Everybody was friendly and the store was spotless. I stopped here for gas , just passing through on 95. I didn't go into the store. A little further off the highway than I thought but it was not too bad. There were 3 pumps on each side instead of the two like my Costco has. There was no line which was a treat! I am used to waiting in a long line! I will stop here again on my way home! read more

Imagine my excitement when I heard that Costco was finally coming to Savannah! I just about threw my money at the Executive Membership option because I wanted all the perks! Finally, the Costco in Pooler, GA opened and I couldn't wait to get my hands on all the goodies it had to offer. At this point, I was like, "Sam's Club-WHO?!" As soon as Costco opens, I'm canceling my membership there." Have I cancelled it? Well... No. I haven't and I don't plan to. Here's why... A little Backstory: I was a member of Costco for many years when I lived in NYC. I would go there any get everything from Soup to Nuts there. I loved the fact that I could buy my favorite brands in bulk. So imagine my surprise when I get there and am visually accosted by KIRKLAND brand items. I am not a Kirkland fan and never have been. so, I was very disappointed to see that there were barely any name brand items but they had been replaced with the KIRKLAND brand. Now, I'm by no means bourgeois or stuck up but when it comes to certain items like cheese, I want my name brands. Not Kirkland. Trash bags, fine... its just trash. But, I don't want my dog eating Kirkland brand food. The variety there is VERY limited when it comes to name brands and this was a huge turn off. On the brighter side, their fresh foods and bakery cannot be matched. The cakes are always fresh and the to-go, baked at home meals are amazing! The workers are very helpful and the checkout situation is very swift and organized. The workers really work well together and morale seems very good among the staff. Another reason why I couldn't wait to have my Costco experience was to return to the Food Court for my tradition of having Sausage and Peppers. I was very disappointed to see that it wasn't offered. The menu was very limited due to COVID restrictions but I'm hoping that they return to serving the dishes that we know and love. The location still has not returned to putting photos on cards either which I found strange since they have been open since November of last year and to date, they still aren't able to put our photos on our cards. My food recommendations: You must try the Cinnamon Pull Apart, Chicken Yakisoba Noodles platter, the Italian Sausage w/ Spinach in Wine Sauce, the Stuffed Peppers and my husband's new favorite the Chill! We'll definitely be back, Costco because we want the most from out $100+ membership dues but, I will be holding on to my Sam's Club card because they offer a lot more brand name products than Costco. read more

It really is much better than Sam's club. It's worth a few extra minutes of driving. They have better selection than Sam's club. I also think their brand Kirkland is better quality than members mark. Biggest differences are the staff which are so much more helpful and friendly than Sama club. The other thing is sales. Costco has monthly sales vs hardly ever at Sama club. Hallelujah, Costco has arrived to Pooler GA!!! This girl is so happy!!! I'm from NY and in any direction I travelled I could hit a Costco. Moved to Atlanta GA and again even more options. Then I moved to Hilton Head SC and (screech) there is nothing... well there is Sam's which is not horrible. But how I missed my favorite Club. Three years here and after all of the rumors that Costco is coming... ITS HERE!!! The club is located in Pooler, GA. About 35 minutes from where I live. They have a gas station. I mean if you're not a member of Costco, I don't understand why?? I'm trying to think of there is anything I wouldn't recommend??? But NO, everything we buy at Costco is quality beyond my expectation. This year I bought Uggs for $114, selling everywhere else at $170. Best thing about Costco is if you aren't satisfied, you can return it. I believe the return policy on electronics may be different. But I can tell you that I have returned items that I bought a year ago and there are no questions asked. I recommend downloading the app. It keeps track of all your purchases in the warehouse and we'll as online. Let me say one more thing... congratulations on joining Costco, you won't regret it!!! OK...a Tsunami crashed against the Pooler retail 'shore' today with the opening of the brand new Costco Warehouse Store. If you've never been to one, get ready for a grand ride. If you are a past Costco customer who's been in limbo while they build and stocked the local store, you've arrived home! Yes, the renown Costco sampling tables are back dishing out free tempting treats. (Today I fell in love with the Pecan pie samples, but was later stolen away by the cinnamon apple pie samples... You'll find this store well laid out, clean and fresh and very well stocked almost everywhere. The area is off of Pooler Parkway in an area we've never visited before, southeast of Hwy. 16, in a beautiful new and developing area of prospective mercantile activity. Physically, the store is massive, and clean and very well patrolled by police to tame the potential traffic entanglements. The store entrance and exit are on the side closest to Hwy 16. The coming tire store bays are in the middle. The gas station, adjacent to the main store, isn't open yet but is well on the way. If you are like us, (we joined and have loved shopping at Costco since 2001) when we moved to the area over a year ago, we were plunged into isolation. No Costco, although we did take an adventure one day and drove to the 'other' closest one in Charleston SC. Two hours drive each way was doable, but it's far better to have a store as a neighbor!!! Every brand has it's own personality, and Sam's is fine but for us Costco suits us better. The ambiance, selection and store layout just fit better. Being new the store is excellently stacked to it's fullest with abundant selections, and variety almost everywhere. You'll still find a fine selection of everything you need and may ever think of, TV's and electronics, office equipment, appliances, clothing, books and seasonal items and so very much more!! When we entered we encountered and couldn't resist poinsettias that were like small trees for $14.99 and the many displays of seasonal lighting and accessories kicked the season in our spirits into a higher gear! Walk back toward the 'business' end of the store (personal note: for ME as I love cooking) first you pass a very well stocked and priced wine department. The Kirkland (store) brand delivers exceptional values in wines such as the Kirkland Sonoma Chardonnay for just $6.99 which is a bargain accompaniment for our Thanksgiving Turkey. Move back towards the meat and seafood area, and you'll find 'flown in fresh' sea fish such as Pacific wild caught Halibut, plenty of fresh scallops and other varieties, and this is the only store I have to admit which featured today a selection of wild caught whole head-on shrimp of an enormous size!! I'd never seen those offered anywhere before. Things being as they are today, prices are higher than I'm used to seeing for meats, however one of the very best deals going are the 'two-packs' of whole chickens currently for .99/lb. Going further through the store, you'll satisfy your cravings, curiosity and find some great buys along the way such as a whole bean south American coffee blend I found today that was on special for just $7.99 for two pounds. All in all the trip was painless, and when you get to interact with employees they were all very well happy in their work, cordial and patient with all of the 'newbie' customers stumbling around while those of us who were Costco Veterans were in our element!! Caution about using the pharmacy. The pharmacist Wayne has serious issues. I've reported him to management and to corporate He's given my information to other people and other persons information to me. Last night while standing around waiting to be acknowledged , the people infront of me were like Polynesian, this WEIRD racist starts speaking some version of broken Spanish to them without even saying hello. We were all too stunned to speak. This behavior is ongoing and the store refuses to do anything about it. It's truly disgusting. read more

This Costco does not recognize the existence of families in which more than one person might shop sometimes. They'll see that you have brought an immediate family member's card and allow you into the Costco like it's fine so you waste over an hour of your time but then not let you pay for the groceries and will try to cajole you into buying another super expensive membership even though your family already has one. This is unlike every other Costco I've been to where they're fine with immediate family members using a family card, and it's an obvious scam tactic to allow you in at the door and then not to let you pay. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. They started a new shit ass policy about card members and having IDs. I get the idea but it's genuinely so inconvenient especially if I live in the same house as my sister and can't use her membership to shop for the family. Crazy how she pays $130 for it and it can't be shared with family members. I got a pregnant cashier worker and she was as rude as they come, not to be mean but her teeth were barely holding on and one almost shot at me. I get it she's pregnant and her moods aren't in balance but why work in a place where you have to constantly speak to people and you're gonna be a bitch??? Went in this evening to grab a pizza for my kiddos as my husband and I had his company party tonight. We ordered the pizza at 5:45, 15 minutes before they were set to close and our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I was super pleased and as usual the woman behind the counter was super friendly the entire time even though it was so close to closing time! The pizza was obviously excellent because the entire thing was gone when we finally made it back home tonight. Thank you again for taking the guesswork out of dinner! read more

I've been a member of Costco long before the warehouse was built in Pooler. I routinely drove to Jacksonville, Augusta, or Atlanta to shop at those locations. I was very happy when Costco announced their Pooler location. Now that it's open I'm usually there at least once weekly. Since then I have found the Costco Pooler location to be clean, organized, we'll-lit, and the staff very helpful. I am especially impressed with their optical department. The optical staff are on their game with professional, courteous service and their eyeglass frame selection is most impressive. Recently I picked up two pair of new eyeglasses and accidently left them in my cart, in the parking lot, when I left the store. I realized what I had done upon arriving home and immediately called the store. Literally, minutes later, someone from the Optical Department called me at home to tell me they had found my new glasses and I could pick them up any time. HOW COOL IS THAT?! The only thing that annoys me at the Pooler Costco is the number of loud-talking, rude Yankee Transplants that frequent this locaton from Bluffton/Hilton Head. I will be so glad when Bluffton/Hilton Head gets there own Costco so that Northern infestation will keep their pasty-skinned, know-it-all selves on the other side of the river. In closing, the Costco in Pooler, GA, is a great local asset and a wonderful place to shop. read more

My wife and I joined Costco for the first time in October before the store was open and we've been loyal shoppers ever since going about every other week. We really like the store 5 stars. A great improvement over Sam's which is where we shopped before Costco came to town. This review is more about an employee there who was recently rude to my wife who was picking up a lap top that was shipped to Costco last month. She was complaining to another coworker about something the entire time she was supposed to be helping my wife. We talked about it on the car and decided not to complain because we didn't want to get anyone in trouble. Anyway, my wife and I just went again this week and while we were in line this same woman was very aggressive sounding in discussion with another female coworker. She just seems mean tempered. I'm not sure of her name but she's very short and her vest says supervisor on it. Hard to believe when watching her that she's in charge of anything with an attitude like hers when everyone else is so friendly. My wife and I will continue to shop at this Costco but management must know that some further customer service training is still needed at this store. read more
