I love Polk's Produce. They truly have a little bit of everything: flowers, houseplants, herbs, fresh fruits and vegetables, pecans, local honey, pickled vegetables, canned fruits, local eggs, and meats. Even my 16-year-old prefers their fruit over every grocery store in town, which says a lot. From the outside, you might think it's just a nursery, but there's a whole market tucked inside. They offer delivery, which is convenient, but I actually prefer coming in. Once you become a regular, there's a genuine family feeling that's hard to find these days. Great customer service. I drove past Polk's several times always wondering what this place was. I always thought it was a garden center but to our surprise, it is a hidden gem filled with farm fresh produce, local dairy products, handmade goods such as soaps and lotions, and even boiled peanuts! They even sold local honey and jams and other canned goods. The nursery outside was different from the ones I've been to and carried different varieties of carnivorous plants, and other exotics I've never seen in person such as a cinnamon tree just to name a few. Lots and lots of varieties of both perennials and annuals that I couldn't dare pick. They were all so beautiful. Just walking through Polk's was so calming. Not to mention the service. The lady in the nursery was very helpful and nice and the man selling the boiled peanuts even gave us some peanuts to take with us on the road. We will definitely be returning before we go back home. Not great for stroller/wheelchair access - even though I called ahead of time and asked. But hey, I figured... let's make the best and ask them to please grab my 3 items for me if possible. ( support a local business) ... only the lady who help me almost seemed disappointed and disgusted that the people at register asked her to help me. She was very short with me, rude , and rolled her eyes when coming out the door to see I was on the other side of the wall walking towards her. So I asked " are you okay?" She replied with "yeah- just looking for you." I simply replied with " have a blessed day " and headed to another store. Maybe she was having a bad day? Maybe she does not care for the shade of my skin? I'm not sure but either way customer service is everything. Needless to say, sadly , I will not be back and will not recommend. If you're looking for fresh and local produce, this is your spot. Not only do they carry produce, they have Swiss Dairy milk, Hunter Cattle Farms meats, local honey, fresh eggs, butter, a variety of in-house made specialties, and so much more. They have a huge selection of plants, shrubs, flowers, and trees as well. Polk's has been a staple for our family over the years, but more recently, they have been our go to and first choice during these crazy times. Recently we tried the milk they carry from Swiss Dairy, and let me tell you that short of drinking it fresh on my uncle's farm, this is the next best thing. The sweet corn here is out of bounds good; I've never tasted corn this good, I mean really! Their chicken salad and fresh salsa is amazing. While the building is quite small, it's unfathomable how much goodness that they can fit inside. Polk's is literally a one stop shop if you want to make a farm to table dinner. The best part of Polk's is that if you request something, they will get it, whether it's from Hunter Cattle or some of the plants that they have. I bought a case of pickling cucumbers that went bad overnight. When I open the case at some of the cucumbers, in the middle of the case had already began to rot out, so I had to actually throwaway about a fourth of the cucumbers that I purchase call the store and let them know that this cucumbers went bad over one night and they weren't in the heat or anything. I just I think they were like that when they sold them to me. I was told there was nothing they could do about that. it was a $48 waist. I will never shop there again. read more

I have lived in Savannah for over 25 years and the only place I have found fresh local Fruits and Vegetables are from the Polk's. Polk's in Pooler and Sandfly a brother and sister both know where to locate the best to be had in fresh produce in this area. read more

A complete and utter gem! I am so grateful that a friend told me about this incredible store! Polk's has fresh local items at fantastic prices from nearby farmers and producers that truly care about their animals, crops and customers. I was really impressed with the selection and customer service- I found everything on my shopping list and Becky and Denise were exceedingly helpful. Most items are local, and the produce is super fresh. Polk's is the only place I know of that sells local milk from a family owned dairy and blue eggs from "happy hens". I really love the experience of shopping at this lovely little market and I simply cannot recommend it enough. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst customer service ever! A whole bushel of peanuts was bad and they refused to do anything to make it right. We boil peanuts all the time, we didnt do anything different with these. The Old lady at the register was rude. I will never buy from them again! read more

The best place for fresh vegetables! Vine ripe tomatoes for $1.99 per pound - nice red throughout the tomato (not pale like the ones at grocery store) and the best flavor! It's easy to get carried away buying the nicest looking fresh vegetables. Raw milk, local honey, even meats and dairy products. Excellent selection of plants and trees, good prices too. I love to get fresh vegetables and apples from this family-owned store. Zucchinis, cucumbers, bell peppers, and egg plant are all reasonably priced. I usually spend about $30 each time I visit. I also love to buy their Amish butter they have for sale in their refrigerated section. I think they are $7 per roll which lasts me a long time. Sometimes they run out because it's so popular but it's worth the wait when they restock the supply. They also offer a weekly service of a variety of vegetables for a reasonable price. I don't subscribe to it but you can inquire with the cashier for more information. I look different from many people and every time I shop here they are nice and friendly to me. I have no complaints :) They are closed on Mondays. They accept cash and credit cards except for American Express. I highly suggest :) read more

A charming little shack with fresh picked produce, beautiful plants, and delicious homemade food products. The peach butter is great on sweet potatoes, but the peaches are in a league of their own. This place is worth stopping at if you're in the area. read more
