Through the years I've bought wonderful tomatoes from Davis (even at Thanksgiving), a yummy array of pickled vegetables, beautiful hanging baskets, fresh veggies and fruit. Their boiled peanuts are a local favorite of many. It can get quite busy during the summer season and navigating their small parking lot can be a challenge with numerous cars coming and going. Our family stayed on Tybee Island recently. We totally enjoyed the produce we purchased at Davis Produce. We cook a lot and our finds really stepped up our meals over regular grocery stores. The Spring Onions were in season - amazing! We bought extra to bring home. read more

This trip we also got a basket of fresh peaches. They looked and smelled fantastic. We usually pick up okra on our trips. They have a lot of jarred products. What a great produce stand! Stopped in "by accident" as I was just looking to wash off my car at the adjacent car wash. I didn't know what I was in for! The sisters, Sheri and Rachel. So hospitable. They gave me a nice history of their stand that their grandfather started. Also they made sure I was all set up with quarters for the car wash when the change machine ate my $5 bill. Not even "their problem" but treated me like it was. How about the produce? Amazing! Strawberries that were ripe and yummy. Haven't tried the cookies or jam yet but looks legitimately homemade. We stumbled upon this place on the way to our beach day, and lemme tell ya.... Every single thing we purchased here was so fresh and so delicious! We ended up taking blackberries, peaches, pound cake, pickles, chicharrones, and boiled peanuts to the beach we even made it a point to go 20 minutes, out of our way, just to bring more goodies back home with us. The people are nice enough (expect the old John McCain-looking dude--he's got the personality of a fencepost) but they're way overpriced. The peaches, at least when I visited, were not in that great shape and pretty expensive and their preserves and things like pickled beets are outrageously overpriced. I'm all for small, local, businesses--especially something like a produce stand--but this is nearly a racket. I guess tourists stay out on Tybee don't mind the prices, though. read more

Convinced our tour bus to stop and was sure glad we did. All produce was gorgeous and delicious. The grape and cherry tomatoes tasted like sweet candy. The peaches (from S.C.) were, um, what is sweeter than candy? So juicy and fresh. The workers were wonderful and so accommodating to a large group. I had vacationed in Savannah,Georgia real recently and we stopped off at Davis Produce to check out the local fruit. I highly recommend not leaving without a couple handfuls of fresh mint it makes a dandy mint iced tea. I can't find fresh mint in bunches here at home like Davis had and wish now I had grabbed up what they had. Don't forget to grab some jellies and fruit butters like peach butter. Not to forget to mention grab those georgia peaches too they were real tasty and I'm more of a watermelon eater myself lol. My intentions are to return to Savannah again soon from Pennsylvania and my first stop will be to Davis produce for more of that fruit and fresh mint!!! read more
