Horrible customer service. This is the worst Kroger. The employees are lazy and rude.

My first trip here due to the Garland location closing. Three things I didn't like: 1. Skirt steak advertised on weekly ad was nowhere to be found. 2. NO meat counter so couldn't ask about whether they had more in back, the employees stocking said they didn't know and I'd have to talk to meat dept., once again no meat counter. 3. Just like the closed Garland location, shopping carts are damaged and wheels lock up / pull you to the side. Other updated Krogers are fairly nice like Rockwall and Sachse and I have no problem with those but this particular location needs improvement and upgrades. read more

Do not ever use this Kroger bakery! Would give negative stars if I could. Placed a cupcake order on 12/23 with expected pick up at 10a on 12/28. Arrived at 10:20a on 12/28, waited 5 minutes at the counter before anyone even came out to acknowledge us, and the order was not done. They said their baker was in the last few days but "never made the order", then proceeded to tell us that "she's supposed to be in at 11a today, which means not until about 12p"...They said once she got in that she could make the cupcakes for us by 4p, which is when we actually need them - but then they didn't even have the icing color we needed (and could not substitute because it's for a themed birthday party). Pretty blown away by the lack of service and the blatant disregard for any sense of professionalism. read more

Today I stopped in at the Kroger in Mesquite on Gus Thomasson to get a few groceries and also a few gift cards.. I ended up leaving $85 worth of gift cards at self checkout and didn't realize until I was halfway home.. I went back to the store thinking I was probably out of luck.. both the managers on duty were so nice! They reviewed the security footage right away and another worker had come by to clear the go backs and had set the 4 gift cards on a display and I got them back! The store was busy and they still took the time to help me and were so kind about it! Thank you so much to the whole Kroger crew! Happy Holidays! read more

Now this it's customer service! Mr. Albert provides more than just customer service. He is kind and friendly to everyone. Even those he's not helping. I saw this man help an elderly lady by scanning all her items and bagging them in the self checkout lane. Every person that walked by he would say hello to while helping. This gentleman needs to be recognized for his kind nature, warm heart and the ability to make someone happy with a brief conversation. It's been a busy day and I was a little cranky until now. Thank you Mr. Albert! I don't live near this Kroger but I will now come out of my way for this type of warmth. More than service, it is a welcome home. read more

Worst Kroger store hands down. The deli employee saw me standing at the Deli, waiting for several minutes as he continued to stock the items in front of the deli...are you kidding me jerk? There is usually 1-2 lanes open with line of people because they don't have enough cashiers and I wonder if it's a money problem or can't keep staff problem? read more

The Gas Station is the only reason I come to this location. It's always so cheap and then you add the Kroger discount... I tend to spend under $3.00 a gallon 85% of the time. The only downside is that this location is always always so busy. Usually waiting for 5-10 mins for a pump to open up, unless you go during the week day. This grocery store, I would never recommend. It definitely needs a facelift and some work done inside.. read more

BEWARE! Long lines! I can understand long lines but not when half of the self-service check-outs are CLOSED! Why did they put in a dozen or so self-service check-outs and only use half of them even when the lines are extending into the store aisle? This store is HORRIBLE!! 3carts for handicapped & only 1 was running. When I left there were 0 baskets inside. One checker running a register with 7 people in front of him. In general the whole store is dirty. On a previous visit I notified an associate that there was a need for toilet paper in the ladies room & that it could use some cleaning. Her response was it's the shoppers fault it's so dirty. Also the handicapped stall door would not shut & lock. Checked several times after that & it was not fixed. Convenience of location has just lost this customer. There are other stores to choose from. read more

Came in to change out propane tanks and the guy at the front door was rude and asked me to stand outside in the 105 degree heat. So disrespectful. He could have asked in a nicer way but instead chose to be rude. Kroger you are in the customer service business. BE BETTER! read more

I am so pleased with the job the bakery did on a cake I ordered online. The web based ordering system does not allow for a lot of elaboration, but there is a "comments" section. So I wrote, "My husband is deploying to Africa with the Texas National Guard so anything you might be able to do to 'America' it up would be much appreciated and I'd be happy to pay extra." You can see in the photo what a great job they did. And they did not charge me extra. Kroger cakes are usually a great deal and this is no exception. And I forgot my Kroger card but an employee happened to be in line behind me and let me use hers so I saved about 10%. I will continue to use the Kroger bakery as my go-to for yummy, inexpensive party cakes. I took off a star because the store is usually crowded with a slow checkout. read more

The Kroger at 3600 Gus Thomasson Rd in Mesquite, Texas has been my go-to store for 30 years. Recently they installed self-serve check-out stations. Possibly the most infuriating machines ever created for human interaction. They work OK. If you have all the time in the world to listen to their automated voice instructor harping at you about putting things in the bagging area (even if you have) and not removing something (even if you haven't), and not recognizing for agonizing SECONDS ON END that you have, indeed, complied. Let's not even discuss the LIMITED AREA allowed for bagging your purchases! If you have a cart full of groceries, you better figure out how to get them all to fit on that little platform until The Voice stops squawking about something you've removed, even though you've scanned it and are out of space for anything else. I get so frustrated that I actually talk back to the machine. By the time I'm done I feel like a tried and convicted THIEF! And forget the normal checkers. You know, the Humans? In the last SEVERAL times I've been there, regardless of the time of day or night, there has been exactly one human checker on duty. One. Today the line at that checkout was already six carts deep. So today my choices were: 1) Stand in line with my arthritic knees for however long it might take for the human checker to get to me, or 2) Try to do it myself on one of those infuriating, aggravating, obnoxious self-serve machines, and try to maintain my composure with the tireless clerk who had to come reset the machine three times. Yes. Three. Times. (She was great, actually! The only redeeming feature of the entire shopping trip.) I want to shop at the Gus Thomasson Kroger. I do. But when I come home frustrated enough to leave a long, scathing review (which I have NEVER done before), something is wrong. Maybe management there might reconsider and add back a few checkers so that we actually have a viable choice. Come to think of it, I'm actually much closer to the Signature Kroger in downtown Mesquite, and there's an Albertson's down the street from that Kroger, and a Walmart Neighborhood Market less than a mile from me. Everything was pretty good today. I am still not thrilled about only ONE cashier. All the self check outs are great but I think that there should be at least 3 cashiers during busy times. Barrett went above and beyond to take my groceries to the car and to load them for me when I mentioned that I had very recently had back surgery. The pharmacy here is so rude, they don't care for customet service. I was there on monday to fill my sons prescription and I told them I wanted generic and the asst who was checking me out said she didn't know if they had generic she didn't bother to ask the pharmacist. The pharmacist was lessoning in our convo. Didn't bother to help. They gave me a brand name inhaler that my son had an allergic reaction to. They are always rude here, plus every time I'm here I always hear there convo about other patients thay there making fun of or just talking about patients asking for generic. "They want everything free" is what I heared. They are violating HIPPA. I will no longer deal with this kroger again and ill make sure to tell all my patients the same. Do not go to this store!!! Always a big wait to check out. Cashiers talk about not getting breaks. All staff is rude and one bagger had ear phones on while bagging groceries. Had 2 females standing behind the service counter not doing anything that could have helped. Very sad experience of employees that just don't care. Try calling the store and ask what are getting for their gas out front. They advertise double points on FSS purchases for their gas, but they refuse to tell you what the price of the gas is over the phone. The reason i ask is that my app GasBuddy.com is about as sorry as korger, as they have no way of knowing who is honest on calling in their prices, but when it varies .45 cents a gallon between their price and krogers it is ridiculous. I was on hold 16 min 14 sec to find out their gas prices finally! read more
