This is the Russell Ridge Kroger and it's A-OK. It's located in the Russell Ridge shopping center on Buford Dr in between I-85 and 316 in Lawrenceville. I stopped by this Kroger to pick up a few groceries after playing golf nearby at Collins Hill Golf Club, about five minutes away. This is one of the nicer Kroger stores I've been to. Outside, there's a Kroger Fuel Center with eight pumps. Inside, this Kroger has a Starbucks, free Wi-Fi, sushi and hot soups to-go, a full-fledged bakery and deli, cheese shop, olive bar, and more. In this sense, it reminds me of a nicer Publix or the Kroger "Fresh Fare" store in Buckhead (Disco Kroger) because of the elevated departments/offerings. It was busy during our Saturday afternoon visit. The produce looked fresh, the store was clean, and there were lots of employees working. It was easy to find what I was looking for despite it being my first time in this particular store. One thing I like about this Kroger is it has a lot of small shopping carts. Those don't exist at my neighborhood Kroger (Howell Mill). I picked up a couple 42-ounce tubes of Quaker Oats Quick 1-Minute Oats for $3.99 each (good price) and some bananas for $0.59 per pound (not the best price, but I can live with it). I used a self-check-out kiosk and it was fast. I was able to self-scan my Kroger Plus Card on my phone which I haven't been able to do in the past, so that was nice. We were in and out in a matter of minutes. This Kroger has restrooms available for customer use. I'd come back.

What happened to my local Kroger?! About three years back I really got fed up with this store (dying produce, crappy deli, unprofessional employees) and completely wrote them off my list. While my husband still shopped there, I became a loyalist to Publix. I needed to pick up some chicken on the way home from work today to grill (finally 80 degree weather!) and turned in to Kroger to avoid a longer drive to Publix, my usual go-to store. Much to my surprise I found the Kroger renovated and carrying things I was excited to try! This often happens in Publix making my bill twice what I originally came in for. So I came in for 4 chicken breasts and 30 minutes later had built an antipasto plate (marinated mushrooms, roasted garlic cloves, sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil, pappardelle peppers stuffed with prosciutto, and olive-sized mozzarella balls) from their fresh bar; found some fig paste, a jar of Cornichons, and 3 fresh baked Italian rolls for $1; then three good sized freshly pre seasoned chicken quarters for $4, and 2 containers of fresh tortellini and 2 fresh containers of marinara. If I had been at Publix, those items plus my other impulse buys would have cost me well over $80, but I got out of Kroger with a $50 bill. I LOVE these upgrades! I didn't make it to the other half of the store (not sure if that was redone) and one bad experience may send me back to Publix, but for now, I'm happy to say Kroger is back on my shopping list.

The store has an updated design. The produce is fresh and they have products in abundance. The customer service was good.

It used to be available at Atlanta Asian Foods and even Hong Kong Supermarket but no more. I found another black crab paste version at Yonghui but my papaya salad don't taste the same since then. My Cambodian cousins told me that an aunt suggested her to check out Asian Market since that's where she gets her Asian necessity ingredients. Asian Market is located on the corner of Hurricane Shoals and West Pike. You won't see it from the street because it is hidden behind Pancake House. You would not think there's a continuing strip of building there. A lot of stores are run down or abandon. It's been years since I've been there, I knew exactly where it was since I used to live in Lawrenceville. Since the cousin didn't know, I decided to go and it's exactly the same as I remember. It IS very small. But hey, they have what I need to make my papaya salad. They have few small aisles. I did see movies for sale and rent too. So old school. Credit cards are accepted. Minimum of $10 You do not know how happy I am to finally find the Pantainorasingh Brand of Black Crab Paste. Okay, I lied, I was able to find it at Winder Oriental Market, which is Hmong own. I ain't driving to Winder just for this! My sister lives in Winder and I don't even visit her like that lmao. (BTW, we usually meet up at my parent's house) I'm now thinking that Pantainorasingh Brand of Black Crab Paste is a Thai, Lao, Hmong, Cambodian thing. We found other versions but all had soya oil in it or is another brand, which is disgusting. 84/2017

Looks more like a Target, but again- still that chaotic Walmart energy; screaming children (they can't help being hungry or tired...), disrespectful customers & rude patrons who simply have no respect or understand how to help keep the store clean do still exist. Unfortunate. I normally shop before 9:30 am on the weekends- a much more pleasant atmosphere. By the time I am leaving the weekend crowd is coming in. I do have to say check out is WAY WAY better & employees now actually speak & smile- how wonderful!!!! Shout out for the efforts & even knowing the parking needed work too! The lot got cleaned up with new trees instead of bushes so we can see eachother clearly coming & going- it was pretty touch & go for years!! Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts & opions. Review for H Mart H…read moreMart is one of my favorite Korean grocery stores--ever. I remember when they first opened locations in the Bay Area in places like San Francisco and San Jose, and I would gladly make the trek just to shop there. I've never been disappointed. The stores are always clean, organized, and full of incredible food options. What really makes H Mart special, though, is that it's more than just a grocery store--it's an experience. Inside this massive market, you'll find a bakery, authentic Korean food stalls, and restaurant-quality meals being made fresh. It's honestly amazing to walk into a grocery store and have access to food that tastes like it came straight from a restaurant kitchen. Because I travel frequently for work across the Southeast--covering a pretty large region--I'm always on the lookout for an H Mart whenever I'm near one. I've been lucky to have access to locations like Cary, North Carolina, and the one in Buford outside Atlanta, which serves a large and vibrant Asian community. Whenever I'm within a reasonable driving distance--usually within about 10 miles--I make a point to stop in and enjoy a delicious, authentic Korean meal that's made to order and very reasonably priced. I've brought friends and colleagues with me, and they've all been blown away by the food stalls. My personal go-to: * LA galbi (Korean short ribs)--if it's on the menu, I'm ordering it * All the little banchan side dishes--I absolutely love them * Fresh seafood options, including live crab and fish that can be cleaned and prepared for you * A stop at the bakery for dessert--think croissant donuts, almond pastries, or a beautiful layered crepe cake Some locations--even the ones I visited years ago on the West Coast--would steam or fry seafood for you right there, which makes dinner incredibly convenient. Another thing I appreciate is the cleanliness. This store truly rivals places like Whole Foods in terms of organization and quality, even while handling live seafood. The parking lots are typically spacious, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. I also love browsing the aisles for specialty ingredients you can't find everywhere. For example, they carry my favorite laksa noodles, which remind me of a Malaysian dish I fell in love with while visiting a friend in Mauritius. It's always fun to discover unique items like that. The staff--both in the grocery store and at the food stalls--are friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. Bottom line: If you're anywhere near Cary, North Carolina--or even the Buford, Georgia area--do yourself a favor and make a beeline to H Mart. As a lifelong foodie, I truly believe: Life is too short not to eat well.

The produce selection was great! The store was clean and well stocked. The check out was quick. On this visit they had a lot of lanes open. While I prefer the Duluth location this one was not nearly as busy so that was a plus too. I would certainly come back.
