Aldi. Small things. She left me roses by the stairs. Surprises let me know she cares.

I'm getting a bit alder now so I am shopping at grocery stores more. Aldi is a really amazing grocery store, because they cut out the frills and fancy sh** and just charge you bargain basement prices for everything. It works better in Europe because they really have to compete with a lot of bargain grocery stores. In America, they're cheap, but not as cheap as they should be or could be. In any case, I came in here for some fruit and a few other items. They didn't have everything I needed (another Aldi issue) but it was a clean and friendly Aldi, with nice cheap prices, and the parking lot is great, probably because it's in a rich suburb. Aldi small things add up to a 3 star rating,

For those new to Aldi, this is a CASH or DEBIT only place. You also need to bring your own bag or carry your items out by hand. This location is right across from the super Walmart and while it may not offer nearly as many items as the giant store, some of its prices may be cheaper. I have found that Greek Yogurt here tastes just as good as the brands offered at Walmart, but are about 10-15 cents cheaper. Similarly, some of their fresh produce have good prices. Bananas are only 44 cents/lb and a gallon of milk is only about $2.50! I have also tried their pizzas and found them pretty tasty. One of the main reasons why I stop at Aldi instead of Walmart is because the walk from the parking lot through the store is much shorter. Since you save some time, that's extra money you are saving because isn't your time valuable?

    King of bargains!

YOU ARE ALL RIGHT WITH ME! This is the Aldi's located across from the Walmart on Pleasant Hill Rd. It is not my regular Aldi, but I shop at any location that is on way. Each location is a little different and it is nice seeing new options. Today's cool purchase was the chicken sausage in Italian and Spinach with feta varieties. They proved to be very delicious, light and not at all fatty and are made with chicken that is not injected with hormones or antibiotics. I will definitely be looking for these little babies in my local store. Aldi's has the freshest, meatiest and most delicious ribs I have found outside of a warehouse club. Every holiday, my family wants the traditional bar-b-que with all of the trimmings. I have not seen the ribs in recent months so they are back just in time for the 4th. These ribs are fresh and never frozen. They had this beautiful hearty wholegrain bread that I purchased and am dying to try. I love a hearty toasted bread for my sandwiches and toast. Can't wait to try it! Go Aldi's!! 6/29/15 I went back to the store and bought more of those delicious sausage because they are incredible. For breakfast I boil, butterfly and grill and eat either with or in my eggs. For lunch, boil and eat like a hotdog with sweet onions and honey mustard, can also be broiled. I was too hungry to wait. Finally, this sausage is so flavorful that I can add it to one of my homemade soups along with summer veggies. Don't forget to grab a bag of sweet onions because they are delicious and very mild. You could eat them like sliced apples and the taste does not linger until the next day. Also you will want to check the prepared pizzas because the white pizza with white chicken and veggies is great! Just try new things and enjoy!

They offer organic fruits & vegetables.

A trip around the world and a walk down memory lane…read more It's been decades since I stepped foot inside the Buford Highway Farmers Market, and being back felt like a beautiful reunion. The last time I walked these aisles, I was with my mama, Donna Theresa. So much has changed since then, yet the soul of this place remains as vibrant as ever. It feels more expansive than I remember. A true global treasure tucked right here in the city. I'm still obsessed with how they organize the aisles by country. In just one afternoon, I traveled from Korea to Eastern Europe to Central America, no passport required! I was officially "team sample" the moment they offered! Unlike the heavy, sugary profile of traditional American cakes, these were a masterclass in balance. I tried the Neapolitan, a stunning phyllo-layered creation that was light, buttery, and perfectly textured. But the Lemon Cream Cake? It stole the entire show. It looked picture-perfect on the shelf, and the taste was even better. It was so bright, airy, and just the right amount of decadence. Coming back here wasn't just a grocery trip; it was a win for my palate and my heart. Now that I'm back in the area, you can bet this is becoming a regular stop on my rotation. I purchased a pack of tofu along with some other items on March 11. I open the fridge a few days later on March 15, finally ready to prepare the tofu, just to see that the exp date on the pack was March 10. This picture was taken March 15 upon this discovery. I meant to update this review a while ago. I just can't spend money here anymore knowing that I'm liable to accidentally purchase old products. As customers, we should not have to be this vigilant at a grocery store... it's ridiculous.

I went in thinking it would be a quick stop, but it turned into a full-on experience. After three hours, we still hadn't made it halfway through. My only real complaint is that I wish it stayed open longer into the day. Every vendor we met was friendly, engaging, and more than generous with samples. Prices were very reasonable, and everything--from the produce to the handmade goods--was beautifully presented. What stood out most was how clean the entire market was. Nearly every vendor went the extra mile to cover their food, protect it from insects, and wipe down surfaces as they went. It showed how much pride each of them takes in their craft. A few standout vendors deserve a special mention. 4 Sons Seafood offered incredibly fresh fish and shrimp, the kind of quality you'd expect to find near the coast. Pearson Farm had juicy Georgia peaches and crisp pecans that perfectly captured local flavor. Maple Milk Farm served up rich, creamy dairy products that tasted straight from the pasture. On the Rocks Gourmet Jams featured small-batch preserves in creative flavor combinations that were both sweet and savory. And Bobbie Ruth's Southern Style Bakery filled the air with the smell of fresh-baked bread, cookies, and pies that reminded me of a true Southern kitchen. Other vendors also added to the experience, including Pine Street Market, Cultured, Sprucewood Cashmere Farm, Diamond P Cattle Co., Taylor Made BBQ Sauce, Bee Wild Honey, Swayback Farms, Java Lords Coffee, Emily G's Jams, and The Cheese Shop at Main Street. Each one brought something special to the table--literally and figuratively. Another pleasant surprise was the number of local shops surrounding the market that were open during the event. We stopped in several and found unique gifts, clothing, and art pieces, which made the outing even more enjoyable. Between the market vendors and the local stores, the entire downtown felt alive and welcoming. We will absolutely be back again and are already looking forward to our next visit. The Alpharetta Farmers Market is a shining example of community done right--friendly people, clean surroundings, quality products, and genuine Southern hospitality at its best.

The big draw here is their booza (a stretchy Turkish/Middle-Eastern ice cream), and it really does live up to the hype - chewy, creamy, and not overly sweet, which makes it dangerously easy to keep going back for another bite. We have tried the Kunafa with ice cream, and that combo of warm, crispy pastry and cold, silky booza is honestly the star of the show. Kunafa for those who don't know is shredded phyllo dough which is layered with cheese and baked to give it that crispy texture yet having the stretchy pull from the cheese. The combination of this savory Kunafa with the booza really makes it a delectable combo. The Turkish + Dubai chocolate Kunafa (half and half) has been my favorite but they have a few options to try. They also server Dubai chocolate and strawberry cups, which seem to be extremely popular too. We've tried their chai (tea) and Turkish coffee and all I can say is that I am hooked. The vibe is lively and a little crowded at peak times, but in a good way - it feels like everyone is there for the same sugar fix. Staff was friendly and happy to explain the menu, which helps if you're new to these kinds of desserts. Service can vary depending on how busy it is, but overall it's worth the stop. If you go in expecting something different from your usual ice cream shop, you'll probably leave impressed (and slightly obsessed with that stretchy texture).
