Don't trust the bakery department. I placed an order and they messed it up. I tried 2 more and they kept messing it up. I asked what I need to do to get the order right and they shrugged their sholders and turned their back on me and refused to speak. I had to get a manager involved and he didn't seem to care either. Stopped by to get a few items and went through a check lane with a cashier. After my groceries had been scanned the cashier just stood there and didn't attempt to bag my 6 or 7 items. I proceeded to bag the items myself and the cashier never acknowledged that I was bagging the groceries. If I wanted to bag my own groceries I would have gone through the self check. I have had it with the produce department. I have thrown away so much produce purchased at this store in the past few months that I am not going to buy from here ever again. I have thrown away moldy cherries, blueberries, strawberries, onions, blackberries, and papaya's. This week was the last straw. I purchased a Black Diamond "Private Selection" watermelon. It looked good on the outside but was rotten on the inside. "Private Selection" is supposed to be the best Kroger brand. I tried to purchase some Kroger sour cream but there was something sticky all over the cartons, but they put it on the shelf anyway. Had to go to the men's bathroom and wash my hands. I have not seen the store manager in months. I met him the first week he started there but I don't know if he is still there. I have been shopping at this store from the first week it opened. It was great back then but not anymore. One other thing. I have to be careful of expiration dates. Many items are out of date and others are short dated. read more

DEAR KROGER MANAGEMENT- I was just at this location today, Wednesday April 24, 2024 at around 12:30-12:45pm. I was at the "EcoAtm" trying to get rid of some old iPhones, when an older black woman came to use the coinstar machine next to me. I was trying to figure out the ecoatm when said woman next to me asked an employee if someone could help her figure out how to use the coinstar machine. When the late 40's?white, Mrs. George Washington hair due having a$$ Kroger employee came to help, she was the most disrespectful, condescending a$$hole I've ever encountered in the wild. When the poor old lady asked her for help, the Kroger employee says (with so much attitude) , and I quote "the instructions are right HERE, MAAM. it's pretty self explanatory!" UMMM, IM SORRY, whaaaaat??? RIGHT as I was about to say something (and I'm kicking myself now for not getting her name as well as for not saying something regardless bc b*tch, WHAT?) the old lady looked at her and said "I know what it says I can read VERY WELL! I've just never done this before. You got me messed up!" Hahahaha I was like okaaay granny you tell her!!! The Kroger employee began to walk away and I let the old lady know that I'd be happy to help her if she needs any further help. I made sure to say it loud enough for that hefer to hear me, too. I hate that I didn't check her right then but I didn't wanna step on granny's toes. Like she held her own just fine. Plus I was in a terrible mood as it was and the damn machine wasn't cooperating so I was in my own world and it hadn't registered yet what a big deal this was and how much it was needed to be called out. There was a really pretty young black girl I believe she was a bagger and she heard it all, too. That woman was unnecessarily rude and for WHAT??? How would she like it if someone spoke to her mom or gramma that way? I don't know the woman or her life so I'm not gonna type it out right here. But you already know that this felt veeeery specifically rude for specific reasons. Shame on you, lady. Placed an online pickup order for 7-8pm. They never sent any notification to let me know the orders was ready for pickup. I got to the store at 8:15 and they was told the pickup employees had left over an hour go. Needing the order I placed for that night, I had waited over 45 minutes for a manager to go back to the back and get my order. read more

The pharmacy customer service needs improvement. They do not apply any listening skills whatsoever. Simple refill requests are torture.

I stopped in to pick up a few things and the memories came back immediately, reminding me why I don't shop here! This is an awful store, empty shelves, limited selection, no check-outs open. After checking out at the SELF-CHECK register, Kroger now charges for cash back. HEB has nothing to worry about, I wont darken the doors of Kroger until this memory fades. read more

It's what you except from a large grocery store. It's well stocked with a Starbucks inside. Make sure you have a frequent shopper card so that you can take advantage of ongoing discounts throughout the store. My biggest complaint is that a times their fish/seafood isn't as fresh as I like. Also I've found expired products more frequently than you would expect from a business that should have a process to prevent this. In general it's a good store. read more

I love the selection at this Kroger, usually kept fairly clean, but I wish they adapted HEB's covid policies. Yes their employees are wearing mask, but not all are wearing them correctly. Saw one who had her nose out. She got close I had to walk away. And the self checkouts...I've been to a Kroger who only had every other self check out open to give room between customers. Do that! Each check out maybe only has 3 feet of space in between. And when some next to you is putting up their groceries in bags. They're a few inches away! Last time I checked out at self checkout, the lady was helping a customer. Barely had her mask on, then started coughing hard like crazy! I had to back all the way back. I ment it sounded like a wet cough. Had the nerve hold her mask out from her face while she coughed, and to have a mask with the vents at that...which filters the air she breaths in, but everyone around her can get all kinds of coronavirus! They protect their employees but protect the customers from your employees and each other. We're the ones that keep you open! At the very least put divders up between self check outs like HEB. The ones at HEB are even more spread out. They need to remove some of the registers and put more self check outs as they usually only have 3 registers open anway! Like I said, like this Krogers, but their coronavirus protection is lacking. Had to go home take a showe, and rinse out my eyeballs after that woman's hacking. SMH. This Kroger is underwhelming in every way. I only shop at Kroger because they offer fuel points. H-E-B is my happy place, and I sometimes throw caution to the wind and shop at H-E-B with reckless abandon, the fuel points be damned. Tonight, however, I went into Kroger armed with my $15 off $40 purchase coupon because, let's be real - that's a damn good coupon. Anyway, I couldn't find anything efficient because they stock the shelves with seemingly arbitrary guidelines. For instance, you'd think the tortillas would be in the Latin food section...no. Or the baking needs near the boxed cakes? Again, no. It's nonsense. But I digress... I was wearing incredibly uncomfortable leggings. My waistband was loose, but the actual legs of the pants were tight so the adjustments that took place were not okay, but a necessary evil. I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt, so when an elderly Kroger employee passed me as I was mid-adjustment, she glared at me and proceeded to watch my every movement, I suppose because I was tugging at my waist and and wearing a large oversized sweater- creating just an awkward sitch overall. She watched me put my cardamom in the basket and the. Went about her business. Cool right? WRONG. She then called SECURITY to tell them she thought I may be stealing. So they called for a "security check" in the aisle I had just been in and soon, the previously empty aisles are abuzz with a few employees walking around with their eyes darting in every direction on the hunt for the "thief" amongst us. Eye roll. So I piddle around a little longer, browsing the aisles, and when it's time to check out, they're only one cashier because...of course there's only one. It happens to be Nancy Drew herself and she is giving me the most epic side eye I've ever witnessed. She doesn't bag my groceries so I'm like, bagging them myself and she doesn't say A WORD TO ME. It's getting weird af, so I pay, and my receipt comes out of the printer, and SHE WALKS AWAY. She doesn't even hand me my receipt. I finish bagging my groceries, take my receipt, and head out the door. Strange experience. Not a great selection of fresh veggies. Terrible service. Great coupons, but not exactly worth it to have to come here to use them. Just do yourself a favor and go to H-E-B. read more

I have shopped at Krogers. Out my adult life. This Krogers on 1960 & West Lake Houston Parkway has gotten so bad that I ask myself every time I go in there why did I come back. I spend between $1200 to $1500 a month in this store. Customer service is not a main thing here and neither is check out time. I spend almost half the time I'm in the store standing in a checkout line. I know the managers get a bonus for low payroll, but this store just lost my business because of the time it takes to check out. I don't like HEB, but guess where I'm shopping next week, HEB. It won't take long to learn a new store and I won't be in a check out line for 30 minutes. By Krogers, you just lost approximately $18,000 a year. read more

The staff seems clueless most times I go. I use to go to this location because it is close to my home and I can get fruits however their fresh food (Fruits in particular(for me fresh oranges)) are always somehow rotting and they still put it out for people to buy. The last time I was there and asked about it, the staff member seemed so clueless and didn't care. Anyway, it's just my opinion, this is a very tardy Kroger location. I'm surprised Kroger Corporate has not been to this store and closed it to upgrade it with better management and food. The fruit and vegetable section is horrific. I have purchased bags of apples and opened it up once home and most of them were rotten. The ready cut fruit, a day from expiration. Shelves are empty in the fruit/vegetable refrigerators. And this is not a one off situation. I have gone there at different days and times, and same problem. The staff are so unfriendly like they don't want to be bothered. I end up at HEB each time after I leave there. Items they say are available online are not available actually in the store. You would think they would at least try to compete with HEB. I was worried about not being able to get a cake for my mom on her birthday (a different bakery didn't the order) and she immediately helped and only took 10 mins to customize my cake !!! Bakery- I DO NOT typically write reviews. Things happen. People have bad days...good days; however, sometimes things need to be known so others do not have to experience issues that can be avoided. I ordered online, a bakery rep named Kathy called and wasn't sure my order was correct. I went in the next day and spoke with Jennifer to make sure everything was okay and the correct cake was ordered- a new kit for Kroger- Incredibles 2. Jennifer showed me the order form and topper, we discussed what would be put on the cake and assured me it would be ready by 9am Saturday morning. When I arrived at Kroger at 9:20am to pick up the cake, Jennifer said the cake was "ready". She just needed to know what I wanted on it. "??????" She showed me my cake. A half sheet of white icing. I said, we discussed this yesterday. She acted as if we hadn't talked the day before. Like I was just making this up. I pulled the cake up online and showed her the picture. She said she could air brush something on and have it to me in 30-45 minutes. Problem is my sons party would be starting at 10am. So she airbrushed something real quick and gave it to me. I walked out with a free cake, yes. However this cake doesn't resemble the cake online. It's a messy, thrown together version that only the 4 year old it was made for could appreciate. Eh, it's a Kroger. I use it to get things when I want to run in and out, since they are smaller than HEB. I usually can't find anything very interesting here, though. It's a meat and potatoes kind of store. HOWEVER, it is also really quiet and easy to get into and out of in a quick minute. I like that. read more

My recent trips to do my weekly shopping have been somewhat disappointing. i am finding the shelves are not as well stocked as they were previously and there seems to be a shortage on sale items. Recently, I was at Kroger's. It is a favorite place to shop because of its good bargains in fruit and vegetables and meat. However, I needed a probiotic at this time. I asked a young man named Todd working in Dairy where the probiotics were. He and I found them and discussed them different types. Later, I was just an aisle away when I sneezed about five times (my sneezes are not typical.) Anyway, Todd stood up from his rearranging and stocking and asked if I was okay. I was so very appreciative of his concern. How often does that happen in this day and time? I am hoping that Todd will get the recognition he deserves for his hard work and caring attitude. The Sushi here is very good. The absolute best in Atascocita. This statement has been tested and tried and is backed by a substantial amount of research. We have a neverending Sushi Quest, an obsession to find the best. Kroger has a Sushi Chef and its made fresh daily. Also they make some with Brown Rice which is just delicious. I have always loved having this Kroger near by. Im glad it's 24 hours because I work nights and always come after work. Recently though it has been closed for cleaning 90% of the time when I come. Kinda defeats the purpose of calling yourself a 24 hour store if you close from Midnight to 6 AM. This review is for the floral department inside Kroger at West Lake Houston and 1960 in Atascocita, Tx. I will start out by saying that the day we went to order the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the quality of work was terrible. My daughter's corsage for homecoming was two roses on a wristlet. The roses were browning around the edges and within one hour of her wearing it one of the roses fell off as we were taking pictures! These corsages are not cheap price wise but I hate to say, the quality was poor. We also purchased the boutonniere for my daughter's boyfriend. While it stayed intact, it was huge, very top heavy, and the pin they gave us was NOT a large boutonniere pin.. it was a dress maker's straight pin. We couldn't even get it to stay on his shirt. I will not be purchasing flowers of this nature from there again. It also should be noted that a couple of the girls there also received corsages from the same location and their flowers fell out as well. read more
