This is a nice clean Kroger so why don't I like it? Because I'm tired of getting home to find cans on top of bread (WalMart separates soft/hard into different bags), I hate the self checkout (yes it is faster BUT there's not a discount when you use it AND if you have a busted arm in a sling - well it's just harder to use) . Or when even though it's a 24 hour store, they don't clearly let you know which door to use (unlike WalMart), and even though a human checker lane is open, the human is missing (WalMart again wins this point) and at 6am, they are just starting to restock so the store is virtually empty of every thing I need (once again, Walmart wins as they stock overnight). The store was so empty I couldn't reach the few Frito bags on the top shelf and none of the stockers would help. I left my 3 items out of 10 that I could find on the missing human checkout line. This isn't a 1 time occurance either. I tend to go to Kroger when I think of something I need during the day and it's just too crowded at WalMart. After this last miss at Kroger, I drove to the WalMart Neighborhood store in Allen, found everything I needed (including a human checker) and was home by 7am. Kroger does have a cool houseware section with seasonal items. The prices are high (and yes, I use my Kroger card even though I'm thinking of burning it now). They don't carry the tiny carrots I can eat (top & bottom retainers prevent biting into a carrot -even the small ones they do carry) and they almost always have watermelon. I usually always shop at Market Street, but occasionally find myself popping into this Kroger for miscellaneous items if I'm driving by. Tonight I was picking up a Papa Murphy pizza next door and I ran into Kroger for a couple of canned items. I probably walked past 6 employees; not one of them even acknowledged me with a glance, "hi", "can I help you find something ?". I ended up asking the dude stocking bread if he knew where something was. He got up and proceeded to walk me down to the end of the aisle, and I thought he was gonna show me the way. No, he pointed to another dude stocking lunch meat and said, "you might ask him". Okay. So I ask the lunch meat dude. He literally like rolled his eyes at me when asked "Excuse me, can you tell me where I might find pepperoncinis ?" His response: "No clue". Great. Thanks for the help. Now I remember why I rarely stop in here. Market Street employees are always eager to help. Worth my drive and my money. read more

I've shopped this location of Kroger since we moved here over a year ago. Since this location is close to our home I find myself shopping here often, about 6-8 times a week. I don't have one day where I do all my shopping, I love to see what is fresh and decide my daily menus based on this. I must admit, I have seen expired foods in the refrigerated section ie: Basil pesto, yogurts, and some cheeses. When I encounter these dates I bring them to the customer service desk and alter the person at the counter, I am told "oh sorry" and I feel this "calling to their attention" falls on deaf ears. In addition if you don't get there first thing in the morning they run out of fresh vegetables during the afternoon hours. The produce department looks like it was ransacked! I'm so sorry but something needs to be done about it. I like the idea of the new scan and go concept, but don't feel like it shaves any time off my shopping, I think I'll go back to using the u scan area and ditch the hand held scanner. Looks like you guys invested a bunch of money and reduced the check out lanes for nothing.. I think I'll take my business to Whole Foods. read more

great store my family & I absolutely love Kroger. We love all the great deals & sales & awesome wine selection. We visited this location on yesterday and loved every minute of it until we got to the checkout line. Oh Bobbi was the worst customer service employee I've ever encountered with. She was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorude I was very displeased with her attitude it was flat out horrible. My husband preceded to ask Bobbi what was wrong her she answered everyone is bouncing around and there not supposed to. But we couldn't understand why she was so upset about it and towards us at that I mean she kept blowing her breath like a grunt almost idk. I guarantee you if I go to this location again I won't be getting in Bobbi's line EVER! read more

I'm here about twice a week. The self-check cashiers are always helpful and attentive. The store is clean and is well stocked. I am usually here around 5pm and it seems to be their busiest time. They have a Starbucks inside, making the store smell good. I recently discovered that the shoppers card doesn't just save you money when buying items that require a shoppers card..but you can load coupons online to the card which also saves you money. You just have to register your shoppers card number online and start adding coupons. Easy peasy. read more

Been coming to his location for years but today's service at the deli just made me loose hope I customer service. went to deli department and the guy kept cutting me off and wants me to see the thickness of the cheese slice from 10 feet away. And every time I asked for something he came back with thank you have a great day. He seemed to be in a hurry for something. Any ways I can't let this one persons bad service get the entire store a low score. But the management does need to retrain him at the least. read more

Produce isn't fresh (lemons are all rind and apples have no taste). The people behind the deli counter couldn't move slower if they tried. I've gotten frustrated with waiting many times and just walked away. Compare this to Market Street or Whole Foods where they're fast and friendly just like a New York deli. With one or two exceptions, the cashiers aren't friendly. I get a scowl when I've asked them to split an order in order so I can use multiple coupons. There are never enough baggers and I usually start bagging myself. Then I seem to get noticed and they run to help. I've gotten home and realized they forgot to place a bag of groceries in my cart. The parking lot always has trash blowing around and the garbage cans are overflowing. And what's with the tattoos, piercings and gauges on employees? read more

I LOVE this kroger. We moved to Allen from Carrollton a year ago and we weren't thrilled with Kroger being the closest grocery store at first. The Kroger in Carrollton was sub par to say the least so we would avoid it at all costs. However, when we first entered the Kroger on Bethany (which is walking distance from our house), we were shocked. The store is meticulous, the staff is friendly, food is fresh, and it's convenient for us. Most recently I've tried the click list feature they offer and LOVE it! I was apprehensive about trying it because it seemed super lazy to me to order groceries online and not do my own shopping, especially when people in our neighborhood literally walk to Kroger and walk home with groceries, but I wanted to try it out to see how it worked. I'm so glad I did! We have been sticking to a strict budget and click list helps us do that and saves time. Before I was having to make a meal plan, make a grocery list, estimate costs of everything and then whip out my calculator and calculate groceries as I go to make sure I'm on budget. With click list, it gives me prices and specials right online. So I just login online with my kroger card info, it even saves my previous purchases, and do all my shopping online. When I'm done, it gives me an estimated total (estimated because it doesn't know exactly how much things will weigh if you're buying produce and meat) and then I pick a pickup time, park, and they load my car up when I get there. Not only is this super convenient, it saves so much time while keeping me on budget by preventing those last minute purchases. :) read more

About three months ago I bought steak from this Kroger. I took the meat home and it immediately smelled sour so I threw it away. I then bought steak on July 4 with a sell by date of July 8. I went to cook the meat on July 7 and it smelled really terrible, even though I froze it for two days . I took it to the store and they were nice enough to exchange it for some new steaks that had a Sell by of 7/11/19 and it was only 7/7/19, so 4 days before that date. I opened it when I got home and it smelled sour. I thought it might be all in my head so I cooked it anyway and after cooking it smelled terrible. Why do they sell so much spoiled meat? read more

I had a great experience at Krogers today. I live closer to another location, but I don't mind going a few miles out of the way for this stores customer service. The staff is always friendly Rosemary, Lou the assistant manager . But today, Wes in the bakery department was my hero. He saved the day. Even though he was busy with a huge delivery, he made time to provide excellent customer service. I'm embarrassed to share the details of my last minute plans for a birthday cake. So I will leave that out. Wes made time to make possible what I thought wasn't. Not that I'm encouraging other procrastinators out there, but that's how he saved my a. I had to ask four different people if they sold pre made apple cider in a jug, and four different people had never heard of apple cider...I thought I was in an episode of the twilight zone for a second. Other than that, the price is good, the food is fresh, and the store is clean. They are the average local grocery store. read more

I frequent this Kroger, and its 'fine', but I have my complaints. Too many times I have bought food that wasn't just about to expire, it actually had expired. Even if you have it on sale, you really shouldn't be selling expired food in my opinion. I have also been charged full price (accidentally I'm sure) when buying discounted items. This location has competitively priced gas, and I love getting $.10 off per gallon when I have spent $100. From time to time you get 4x your gas discount for each $100 you spend on gift cards (going on now). The service has always been great at this store. I love that they have a small milk fridge at the front of the store. They also have Redbox and Starbucks inside. If visiting late night, the doors on the right will be locked. read more

I like this Kroger a lot. I am disappointed they lost a lot of items and have limited self space since they made the aisles wider. That is nice but they are always out of product and you have to ask them to check in back for it becuase it hasn't been restocked yet. That being said I am all about customer service and this Kroger has excellent customer service and is willing to go check on an item for me. If you are a grocery store fanatic, this would be the place for you...I don't enjoy shopping for groceries and do not like how big the store is for the way I like to shop, but it is clean and has a lot of great features. I have shopped at this Kroger for three years. The updates recently are very nice. The people who work the meat market are hard to find when you need something special. That is a strike. I quit going here about six months ago due to the meat market and the rudeness of a majority of the checkers. In the last two years I have not had one person ask me if I would like help taking my groceries to the car. Not one! Mind you I buy $200-$300 every time I go so its not like I only have an item or two. Today I decided I would go see the new updates and try it again. There was someone in the meat department and he smelled like cigarette smoke which is not appetizing to me so I passed on all the meat and seafood I had gone to get there. I bought a lot of other things and went to the checkout. When the young man pulled my cart up to start checking my items, I said, "Hi how are you?" Nothing. He checked my items through and talked to two young men standing around and handed me my receipt. Not a word. So I stood there looking at him. He looked up at me and I said I am waiting for you to thank me for my business. He said Oh. Thank you. I said do you realize those are the first words you have spoken to me during this entire transaction? This is not the first time this has happened. There are two cashiers that are nice and friendly always. The man behind me even said, "I don't blame you." "I noticed that too." I have been going to another grocery store and I have yet to meet a cashier that wasn't nice, talkative and friendly. They want and insist carrying your groceries out even if it is only a few items. I like to know my business is appreciated. I will keep driving past Kroger and go to other grocery stores from now on. Very disappointed in this store and management. read more

The store itself isn't bad, but I will never go to the pharmacy again! The first time was incredibly frustrating. It seems no one there communicates. But I decided to try again today. The young guy at the window is so rude and unprofessional. And another man called me later and was very rude as well. I was told at the window, after sitting there for 10 minutes watching the younger guy enter my sons RX info into the computer. He then told me it would cost $177, but with my discount it might go even as low as $100. Skip forward about 20 minutes, after this young guy rudely asks me to come back in 30 minutes, I get a call that the RX is ready, and that it's $314!!!! I tell the guy that I was told $177 at the most. He asks me if I'm sure I went to the right pharmacy?! Seriously? You clearly have my RX because you're calling me!! He says that he doesn't know where the other guy got $177, but that it will cost me $314. No apology for the mix up, just rude!!! I've had my RX transferred to another pharmacy, and will not return to this one!! read more

Employees aren't that great here. Very poor customer service except the Same young man we have at self checkout each time. There is also trash surrounding the front door all the time. Not a very appealing thing when your about to go buy food. Also there has been several times I went 15 to 20 minutes before they closed to buy my child medicine only because I didn't want to drive further and they already had their door locked and stated they were already closed before the actual closing time. 4 stars because I just discovered that they have a salad bar. The renovation worked out for the better and I haven't had problems with items being out of stock. I'm giving the rating based on it being a Kroger location, not based on Kroger versus other grocery chains. The parking lot is weird with the daycare and McDonald's and the produce needs help. It seems like the olive bar has more and better selections than produce, which is odd. Customer service is pretty good and the lines aren't too bad. Overall, the ratings from before the renovation don't reflect my experience lately. read more

Very clean and organized. Deli stuffs are awesome. Self check out attendants are nice.. Vegie and fruit always fresh and clean. Price is a little higher compare to other competitor. Used the pharmacy for zithromax that the doctor prescribed for my 7 year old. The Kroger pharmacist gave us the generic because she said there is no more of the other left. I spent the better part of an hour trying to get him to take it but each sip he gave out a yuk. I finally tried a small spot of it on my finger tip and it is the most god awful tasting thing I have every tried in my 40 plus years. We took it back to get a different one called in and asked for a refund. the pharimsist said she would not even look at it, alone refund. She then walked away from the counter and would no longer talk???? I tried calling the numbers on the internet and get a jewelry store and go through all the prompts to get a hold of the store just to then put on hold for 30 minutes asking for the manger. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. We have been using this store for many years but I will never shop here again/buy gas etc, I will tell everyone who will listen about this. Don't like this store. Poor inventory control. The recent construction has made this store much too large to conveniently shop. It's more of a Wal*mart now instead of a neighborhood grocery store. It's poorly managed, and there are never enough checkers on duty. read more
