Best fish & chips in town! I asked for the fries to be cooked extra well done-- came out really crispy. Bar none.

Totally unexpected four stars! My family and I were in Hart for July 4th weekend, and Kristi's was across the street from our Airbnb. We decided to check it out since many of the local restaurants were closed for the holiday and it was walking distance from our place. Zero expectations when we walked in but WOW! We were pleasantly surprised. When you walk in, don't be bothered if no one greets you. This is a local dive spot, and it seems almost everyone is a regular. We walked to a table and made ourselves at home. The waitresses greeted us on their way to other tables and brought our menus promptly. The salad bar looked unappetizing as we walked in, but it was actually delicious. Great selection of veggies, fruits, and soup. The greens were a bit wilted but I made do. Our waitress - a sweet high schooler named Ashlyn - was SUPERB. Just all around friendly and so accommodating. She took care of us, and made sure our food was tasty and our drinks were always filled. Ask to sit in her section when you drop in. We started with the build your own appetizer basket, and everything was so tasty. Although the fried mushrooms were too breaded, but the fried green beans were so good! My prime rib au jus was delicious - the meat was so tender! And my husband's steak was grilled to perfection. All in all, we had a great time and will likely return next time we visit Hart!

Old Fashions and a couple Moscow Mules... deelish!! Good times.

During our visit here from Southern California, we tried to visit several local dive bars and pubs in the surrounding areas. Came across this little place on our last night here as we searched on Yelp... a lot of bad reviews but be wanted to check it out. It was packed with locals having dinner and cocktails. The service was great, our waitress was sweet and attentive. We ordered a couple cocktails that came quick for as busy as they were but what a quant and fun little bar. Everyone looked as if they were having a great time on a Friday evening after long work week. We will definitely be back the next time we visit.

    Really cool place!

What a great place to go after being on the dunes at Silver Lake. I had breaded wings, (which I love), and my friends had the ribs. I was told they were fall off the bone... yum. Excellent service from Melissa and Taylor!

    Yummy!

We love Kristi's! Good food and has that small town feel. It gets busy but we always have been able to be seated right away.

Today we visited and it was awful. It is so sad to see that this restaurant has completely went down hill. Things started off fine. We were greeted at the door and seated right away. We then waited 50 minutes for our food to come out. Our appetizers came out quickly because they were just deep fried apps, but our entrees took 50 minutes. Our appetizers didn't taste right like the oil was old or something. The onions rings did not look appetizing, a darker color to them from the oil? My friend has the fish and chips and said the fish had good flavor but it was chewy and soggy. My other friend had the fettuccine Alfredo and didn't even eat it. We all tried it and it didn't taste like Alfredo. It had tomatoes in it too. My other friend had the salmon and rice pilaf and thought it was good. I had the cowboy burger. It was a really good burger, the patty was on the thinner side and it definitely wasn't cooked all the way as shown in picture. I appreciated that they used real bacon and not microwave cheap bacon. The bun was a little small for the burger but it was packed with onion rings, bacon and bbq sauce. Again, the onion rings weren't great. The manager/our waitress Mandy was kind and attentive. She asked why I didn't want a box for my burger, and I just said it wasn't really cooked all the way. Then she shared about how things have been rough there and she is hoping to turn it around with being recently hired. She shared how the chef "has no clue what he is doing." Whoever owns Timbers is going to have to close their doors because no one is going to visit a restaurant that is not enjoyable. It was a Saturday night at 5-6pm and there were only 4 tables with people dining. That is a big red flag if your business only has 4 tables on a Saturday. The atmosphere is great, they have an upstairs and a small deck out back, and it is just so sad it is going to waste. There is free street parking and a small parking lot next to the restaurant. Overall I hope this place can turn around.

It was our first visit to Doc's on the River…read more The restaurant recently just changed names and ownership. The new owner also renovated the restaurant and the up north vibes are cozy and welcoming. There is a very large parking lot. When we walked in, there was just a small nook to stand while we waited for a table. It was very busy, but expected for dinner time on a Saturday night. There was not a host at the stand so some other guest had a pen and was adding everyone's name to the list. Which ended up being very helpful actually! The host came back to tend to those waiting when she had time. She was very pleasant and kind. The space could be a family restaurant, but I would say it definitely leans more towards a sports bar. There is a full bar, high top tables, regular tables and lots of tvs playing sports. Every table was full when we were there and it was pretty loud. Towards the end of our visit it started to clear out a little bit. We noticed that when it did get quieter when people started leaving, there was not any music playing or anything. It kind of made it awkward feeling. We had the jalapeño corn bites as an appetizer. They were served with ranch. The bites were ok. I probably wouldn't order them again. For our entrees, my boyfriend and I both had the broiled walleye. It was very good and it was not dry. The mashed potatoes were amazing and my favorite part of the meal. The veggies were fine, nothing fancy! Our waitress seemed stressed and you could very much tell. The place was very busy but she was still attentive and helpful. They do have very nice restrooms. The place felt clean. Overall a good spot if you are passing through.
