We stopped in for a drink and the place is really cute. We decided to get a snack and ordered their roll sampler. They were all amazing! We had jalapeño popper, crab Rangoon, flickle, and Reuben. This is one of only two eateries in Baldwin that are open daily. In my opinion, the only place that's been able to maintain a decent quality. Be warned however. The capacity of the kitchen is limited. You may be subject to extended wait times during peak hours, and at times your selections can be limited for the same reason. This bar is a 2 star at best I have tried going there 3 or 4 times and I've been knocked out once, turned away twice and lied to about that. They told me on the third time I went there that I spit in someone's face (nothing i would ever do). I also lost on $900 necklace the night that I was was knocked out. The reason I was knocked out was because I complimented somebody's girlfriend while they were petting my husky. Went here many times when it was Edie's. For a few years after it seemed opened or closed erratically, and there was at least one name change prior to this. Looks like this Baldwin institution is in good hands now. The interior is lightened up, both in terms of the wood tone and there just being more lights on. Overall it seems quite clean. Good draft beer selection, with a menu of bar food standbys. I got the grilled chicken sandwich, which was quite large in terms of both meat and bun. I'm glad I didn't go for fries on the side. Meat was tender, American cheese on top wasn't really an asset. A decent sandwich on the whole. If you go, be aware there's a 3.5% surcharge for credit card transactions. It's good to see that the Log Bar is still Baldwin's place to go "For the Good Times." read more

Baldwin is the place, oh the place I want to be.... Couple great local, down home feel establishments in the village of Baldwin, MI. The Log Bar is definitely one of them! Go in, get yourself a big iced draft beer, some grub, play a little shuffleboard .... Ahhh the memories. The board has been in their since I was just a kid (Edie's Log Bar back then). Just great service, 3 gals working the bar, and the tables, all hustle, keeping their smiles and kindness, even in the busiest of times.... I recommend going in, burgers are fabulous and goodness those fries!!!!! Mmm mmmm mmmmmmm!!!!!! TVs for your sports, Keno for your entertainment, and well... the bar is kind of made out of logs.... The customer service was awesome! Food portion huge. The Oliver (vegan) burger and Fries was DELICIOUS. I must say the request for the vegan substitution was no issue and did not compromise the taste and quality of burger. It was actually the waitresses suggestion as I was indecisive in choosing the vegan burger and Oliver burger. The vegan olive burger was made to perfection! First of all the place is the hottest spot in this part of Michigan. Next, the prices are fantastic for service and quality of this caliber. I ordered the olive burger and was beyond happy when it arrived. The flavor was probably off the charts for me because of the way they put this thing together using a little bit of extra Swiss cheese to glue the whole thing together and make the presentation smashing. I came back tonight after two days and had to order the same thing because I wanted to see if they could pull it off again and tonight's version was even better than the first version two nights ago. I know a little bit of history about these people and I watch how they work and this is a tightknit family operation that's got everything in motion. The owner and his wife seem to work very well together and they have kids and siblings working here as well for this bike weekend and I can't believe that they can put out as much food and beverage as they are but they aren't pulling it off. I happen to be a very big fan of all of burgers and am extremely critical and would have to say by far this is the best olive Burger I've ever had. read more

Wow. I can't believe they have not gotten any reviews yet. It looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but once inside it is beautiful. Very very clean. Customer service was great and food was awesome. We had the Reuben, chili cheese fries and the Reuben loaded fries. Will definitely be back. read more
