Everything was 5-stars! The food, the service, and the vibes. This was a random find while in the area and what a delight! They are fully committed to the woodsy, outdoor, rustic vibe while still feeling upscale. Our server was excellent and brought refills consistently and without being asked. We ordered fried mushrooms and spinach and artichoke dip for apps. The fried mushrooms and ranch were AMAZING and also pretty massive. The dip was verryyy cheese forward and was a little goopey, not my fav. The flavor was good, but I wanted it to be creamier and more balanced. It was the only thing we got that wasn't a hit, but not enough to change this from 5-stars! I ordered the Prime Rib with veg and a baked potato. IT WAS AMAZING. My family ordered two pizzas to split; bbq chicken and margarita. The pizzas were delicious and had a perfect crust. Overall so amazing and would totally return when in the area or recommend to others looking for something super tasty with great service and fun decor! read more

Cherry Salad was delicious and fresh! Potato and Ham soup was a great starter especially served with the warm bread Sitting near the fireplace gave a nice touch to the atmosphere. I wish the fireplace actually gave off heat in the room because it was a bit chilly. Dress warmly! The Waiter was very kind and thoughtful refilling our drinks and thinking of everything! He even suggested different options not listed on the menu. (The Alfredo pasta also comes cajun style!) I would strongly recommend Timbers in Cadillac, Mi!!! read more

We went and celebrated a birthday. Service was good despite us having a large party. The platter I ordered was delicious and others in our group loved the prime rib and chicken Parmesan. The whitefish was just average and the salmon was very salty. Overall we had a good experience but mixed reviews on the food. read more

The service was great. I had the waters edge platter. It was awesome. Best coleslaw I've ever had. The decor is very cool and made the atmosphere even more fun. read more

My husband and I have gone here many times for drinks and keno, but just finally tried out the food. My husband got the Delmonico steak and a Cesar salad, both which he said were delicious. I had the walleye with sweet potatoes fries and side salad. Everything was great but the walleye lacked flavor. It's so great that they have NA wine on their menu, which is really hard to come by. Staff was extremely attentive and checked on us often. Ambience is laid back in the bar area. Unfortunately we had a booth right near the doors to the kitchen. It was a bit chaotic and noisy the entire meal which was a downfall. Also the prices for entrees are quite hefty. The couple next to us had sandwiches that looked amazing which we'll try next time. Overall nice spot but a little pricey. read more

the food was amazing and the service was so attentive/kind! I love the homey-vibes and the hospitality:)

Absolutely wonderful service! Kayla was awesome! Our food was fantastic as well. My girlfriend and I tried the potato skins to start with and honestly, I could have just eaten those for dinner and would have been perfectly happy. My prime rib and her surf and turf meals were both incredible. Zero complaints from us and we would highly recommend visiting. read more

We chose this beautiful upscale restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt intimate, refined, and welcoming--exactly what you hope for on a special night. The service was exceptional without being intrusive, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly crafted with care and creativity. It wasn't just a meal, it was an experience--one we truly savored from start to finish. This was the kind of place that makes a milestone feel even more meaningful. We left feeling celebrated, relaxed, and already looking forward to the next special occasion. Highly recommend for anniversaries, date nights, or anytime you want an unforgettable dining experience. read more

Food was plentiful, hearty, mostly hot. Drinks were cold Service was attentive, But.. Crosscut chicken main was supposed to have a cream sauce not a tomato sauce. Totally destroyed the rest of the dish. Super for upper Michigan but soso for any where else read more

Best steak I've had since we have been in Michigan. Service was pleasant and friendly.

We've passed this place 100x. Finally had time to stop for dinner. It was great! Service top notch. Food was delicious and an above average serving. Had whitefish and the flank steak. Delish! Worth it and a value for "up north" area. It has moved to the top of the list for m115 dining for us! Cute place inside -very up north Michigan in a great way read more

The steak was top tier. Well-seasoned and incredibly juicy (ordered medium). The Surf and Turf portion was generous enough for my hubby and I to share. As I type this, I'm enjoying the last of my espresso martini and I highly recommend. read more

Pretty good food, good selection of beers, really warm setting inside and the staff are friendly, good lunch or dinner pick

Do I recommend this Restaurant, I would say Yes in a Heart beat. However my mom wouldn't. Our waiter was Stephen he was extremely knowledgeable about how the food was cooked and was able to accommodate medical and food allergies! I got Surf & Turf* I ordered the vegetable medley, & a baked potato. I was disposable the waiter said they add salt to the out side of the potato & when it arrived NO salt in or outside the baked potato & where wasn't any butter in the potato either. I have several medical/food allergies and the restaurant was able to accommodate me. What they did different was they didn't add steak seasoning to the steak, but instead cooked it in the garlic butter instead. I thought this tasted INCREDIBLE!! I would Definitely order this again!! Worth the $29 price tag(February 2025)! The 2 things I would like to see change is offering Sweet Tea, and offer "Timber" Restaurant on Door Dash! Mom ordered the Fresh WhiteFish, normally is breaded, but do to milk allergy they baked it and only put paparika as the seasoning. Mom plans on feeding the fish to the puppy. Unfortunately, my mom doesn't recommend the fish as it was lacking flavor! Fresh WhiteFish was $25(feb 2025).My father ordered 12oz Timber Prime Rib. He said it was lacking salt/seasoning. However did state that is was mostly good and at $38(feb2025). read more

This restaurant is our favorite, consistently delivering exceptional staff and service. We celebrated Christmas Eve there, and despite the bustling atmosphere, the service remained remarkable. The Rib Eye was AAA quality. I highly recommend it! read more

Food was fantastic, we both had the Timber Sampler plate with whitefish, 2 types of shrimp and crab Alfredo...simply amazing all around. Our waitress Kayla was spot on with great customer service and so friendly! We will be back for a very nice dining experience. The knotty pine, rustic old school decor make the atmosphere so quaint. In spite of being very busy it was easy to have a conversation!! I took half of my plate home read more

Yes! Another successful find thanks to Yelp! After a week of road trip snacks and vacation food (hot dogs and burgers) my family and I really needed a home cooked meal. On our way back to GR we figured we'd stop for a bite. The pics and reviews at Timber looked great so we stopped and were pleasantly surprised by the local feel! The menu has a little bit of everything which is a plus! We opted to eat family style and share a couple of entrees between the 3 of us. Wow! We were blown away by how perfect the NY strip was cooked. We asked the server who was cooking back there because we were so happy! She said it's the owners, who have been cooking steaks the same way for 20+ years. Consistency is key! The shrimp and white fish were grilled perfectly too! The pasta was OK. This is going to be our spot from now own when we go up north. Can't wait to try other menu items! read more

After reading the stellar reviews on Yelp, we were excited to visit here this afternoon mid-day. Not enough wait staff like most restaurants these days but being mid summer in a tourist area, there needs to be more help available regardless of day part. Wife and I shared a pizza as well as a combo fish platter. Neither were very much to our liking sad to say. With all the choices of restaurants in the area, we really wanted to like this place but can't say that enjoyed the quality of the food or the wait time... read more

Was up visiting and camping in Cadillac and this restaurant was recommended to us by a family friend. If you're in the Cadillac area, I highly recommend giving this place a try! Our service was great! Our waitress was very friendly, social, and knowledgeable. I loved the decor of the restaurant, very reminiscent of the history of the town. I think it adds a nice touch and character to the place. Our food was absolutely delicious. All of us enjoyed our food and left very full and very satisfied. Plus we had leftovers! They had a good list of beers on tap. I didn't eat them, because I'm allergic, but the fried mushrooms were absolutely huge and delicious according to those who had them. They highly recommend them for an appetizer. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. If I'm back back in the Cadillac area, I would definitely come back! read more

Great food, wonderful service!! Such a good overall experience. We will definitely be back!

We've eaten here twice when in Cadillac and each time it has been a nice break from the norm. Their menu offers a change from the usual dishes served in the area. The first time I had sauteed wild mushrooms with parmesan served on a bed of greens. Wow! Next visit I had the pasta with mushrooms and pesto. Also excellent. My mom enjoyed her meals too, crispy fried chicken strips and the cherry almond salad. We went on the early side, they open at 3p. We had attentive friendly service. Sadly, the wild mushroom salad was no longer on the menu on our second visit. I was going to order it again! I hope they offer it as a special in the near future. read more

We've driven by Timbers many times and finally stopped. So glad we did. Great ambiance, great service and possibly the best burger I've had in years. Chad, the hardest working bartender east of the Mississippi, was great. 5 stars and can't wait to go back. read more

No complaints. Just ordinary run of the mill burgers. French fries were cold and limp. Waitress was good and very friendly.

Moved here from Chicago and before anyone asks. Chicago is known for some of the best foods in the U.S. I had many family members and friends that owned restaurants all through Chicago. I was brought up working in them! I am extremely picky and spoiled when it comes to good food! So far, thee only restaurant I could eat 3 meals a day at is TIMBERS! Although they do not serve 3 meals a day the food is that GOOD! Thank you. Thank you for the wonderful meals and service. The staff there also makes it worth coming back again and again! When I go out I want to enjoy my experience dining out! I HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL OR SERVE GOING TO YOUR RESTAURANT! I love the TIMBERS! It's my favorite in Cadillac Michigan! KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL FOOD & SERVICE! Thank you. read more

Great food, along with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service made this a perfect find for dinner. We shared a shaved steak sandwich, which was served with grilled onion on a homemade onion bun. Make sure to try the OUTSTANDING French fries (and we are super picky about how we like our fries!). The waitress was attentive without hovering, the meal was top-notch, and I loved the wood-paneled walls and cozy, local vibe. It reminded me of indie, local mom-and-pop restaurants from my youth...which was a nice addition to my overall happiness with this dining experience. I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area. read more

Recently stopped on our way through and found the food and service very good. My group of 8 ordered a couple of the signature pizzas, handhelds and a couple of burgers, and the bourbon salmon, all of which were very solid. We will definitely return the next time in the area. read more

Family get together at this wonderful rustic yet elegant restaurant that has a little bit of everything. We started with apps of Coconut shrimp that came with a citrusy dip that was delicious, potato skins ( didn't try cause I don't do onions) and Artichoke/Spinach dip that was pretty good. I had the Wild Mushroom pasta with pesto and a cut of salmon it was really good. My wife had the Chicken Alfredo which she loved ( I could tell cause it didn't last long)! I washed mine down with a strawberry citrus ale that was really good but very filling. They have fish, steaks, pasta, burgers and little something for everyone. If you're hitting the lakes, skiing or just driving through The Timbers is the place to go! read more

The atmosphere here is very cabin woodsy having a neighborhood party. Somehow it all works and makes a pleasant eating environment. I ordered the Cadillac of Steaks (tenderloin) with bourbon sauce with fries and a side salad. The steak was good, but nothing I'd order again. The Bourbon sauce was not my favorite bourbon sauce. Not terrible, just not right somehow. The fries were very good, they were like a Potato wedge cut skinny. The side salad was nothing fancy, but good. The person I was with ordered the Lumberjack Sandwich, basically a roast beef sandwich, it came on a huge bun. It was stated to be very good, however the bun was not substantial enough and fell apart under the beefs juices. The bread was good tasting though. The service was very good. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes. I'd just get a regular steak next time. read more

Don't order drinks here they come in a tiny glass and cost $12 apiece. We ordered the burgers and it was just a premade burger not even fresh at these prices. It should be a good burger, but if you want an ordinary burger go for it these are just your kind of people read more

Another decent local establishment that produces decent food. While I wouldn't seek this place out and make a special trip, it does has a good passerby dinner feel. Great food and service. The filet was cooked perfectly. I love the casual but beautiful atmosphere.

Good food and service. Busy. Had the fish. Very pleased. Will be back when in the area again.

We stopped by Timbers on the way to our cabin. It was ok. I had the bourbon salmon which was ok.

Overpriced and underwhelming. I ordered fish- basic, nothing special to make it theirs. The friend I was with ordered a steak. Again, nothing to set them apart or make them stand out. read more
