Cherry Salad was delicious and fresh! Potato and Ham soup was a great starter especially served with the warm bread Sitting near the fireplace gave a nice touch to the atmosphere. I wish the fireplace actually gave off heat in the room because it was a bit chilly. Dress warmly! The Waiter was very kind and thoughtful refilling our drinks and thinking of everything! We went and celebrated a birthday. Service was good despite us having a large party. The platter I ordered was delicious and others in our group loved the prime rib and chicken Parmesan. My husband and I have gone here many times for drinks and keno, but just finally tried out the food. My husband got the Delmonico steak and a Cesar salad, both which he said were delicious. I had the walleye with sweet potatoes fries and side salad. Everything was great but the walleye lacked flavor. It's so great that they have NA wine on their menu, which is really hard to come by. Staff was extremely attentive and checked on us often. Ambience is laid back in the bar area. Unfortunately we had a booth right near the doors to the kitchen. It was a bit chaotic and noisy the entire meal which was a downfall. Also the prices for entrees are quite hefty. The couple next to us had sandwiches that looked amazing which we'll try next time. Do I recommend this Restaurant, I would say Yes in a Heart beat. However my mom wouldn't. Our waiter was Stephen he was extremely knowledgeable about how the food was cooked and was able to accommodate medical and food allergies! I got Surf & Turf* I ordered the vegetable medley, & a baked potato. I was disposable the waiter said they add salt to the out side of the potato & when it arrived NO salt in or outside the baked potato & where wasn't any butter in the potato either. I have several medical/food allergies and the restaurant was able to accommodate me. What they did different was they didn't add steak seasoning to the steak, but instead cooked it in the garlic butter instead. I thought this tasted INCREDIBLE!! I would Definitely order this again!! Worth the $29 price tag(February 2025)! The 2 things I would like to see change is offering Sweet Tea, and offer "Timber" Restaurant on Door Dash! Mom ordered the Fresh WhiteFish, normally is breaded, but do to milk allergy they baked it and only put paparika as the seasoning. Mom plans on feeding the fish to the puppy. Unfortunately, my mom doesn't recommend the fish as it was lacking flavor! Fresh WhiteFish was $25(feb 2025).My father ordered 12oz Timber Prime Rib. He said it was lacking salt/seasoning. On our way back to GR we figured we'd stop for a bite. The pics and reviews at Timber looked great so we stopped and were pleasantly surprised by the local feel! The menu has a little bit of everything which is a plus! We opted to eat family style and share a couple of entrees between the 3 of us. Wow! We were blown away by how perfect the NY strip was cooked. We asked the server who was cooking back there because we were so happy! She said it's the owners, who have been cooking steaks the same way for 20+ years. Consistency is key! The shrimp and white fish were grilled perfectly too! The pasta was OK. Was up visiting and camping in Cadillac and this restaurant was recommended to us by a family friend. If you're in the Cadillac area, I highly recommend giving this place a try! Our service was great! Our waitress was very friendly, social, and knowledgeable. I loved the decor of the restaurant, very reminiscent of the history of the town. I think it adds a nice touch and character to the place. Our food was absolutely delicious. All of us enjoyed our food and left very full and very satisfied. Plus we had leftovers! They had a good list of beers on tap. I didn't eat them, because I'm allergic, but the fried mushrooms were absolutely huge and delicious according to those who had them. We've eaten here twice when in Cadillac and each time it has been a nice break from the norm. Their menu offers a change from the usual dishes served in the area. The first time I had sauteed wild mushrooms with parmesan served on a bed of greens. Wow! Next visit I had the pasta with mushrooms and pesto. Also excellent. My mom enjoyed her meals too, crispy fried chicken strips and the cherry almond salad. We went on the early side, they open at 3p. We had attentive friendly service. Sadly, the wild mushroom salad was no longer on the menu on our second visit. I was going to order it again! I hope they offer it as a special in the near future. read more

Great food, along with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service made this a perfect find for dinner. We shared a shaved steak sandwich, which was served with grilled onion on a homemade onion bun. Make sure to try the OUTSTANDING French fries (and we are super picky about how we like our fries!). We started with apps of Coconut shrimp that came with a citrusy dip that was delicious, potato skins ( didn't try cause I don't do onions) and Artichoke/Spinach dip that was pretty good. I had the Wild Mushroom pasta with pesto and a cut of salmon it was really good. My wife had the Chicken Alfredo which she loved ( I could tell cause it didn't last long)! I washed mine down with a strawberry citrus ale that was really good but very filling. They have fish, steaks, pasta, burgers and little something for everyone. The atmosphere here is very cabin woodsy having a neighborhood party. Somehow it all works and makes a pleasant eating environment. I ordered the Cadillac of Steaks (tenderloin) with bourbon sauce with fries and a side salad. The steak was good, but nothing I'd order again. The Bourbon sauce was not my favorite bourbon sauce. Not terrible, just not right somehow. The fries were very good, they were like a Potato wedge cut skinny. The side salad was nothing fancy, but good. The person I was with ordered the Lumberjack Sandwich, basically a roast beef sandwich, it came on a huge bun. It was stated to be very good, however the bun was not substantial enough and fell apart under the beefs juices. The bread was good tasting though. The service was very good. Overall a 4 star review.
