Limited bars in Irons, so happy this place exists. Cold drinks and a decent waitress. Our party of 4 had mixed experiences. My sister ordered a burger and it came out raw. I had wings and they were..... ok. Nothing special, and I would not order them again. The burrito was ok. Gizzards we're really good. This is a classic dive bar filled with locals. Subpar bar food is an understatement. Wish someone would open a new 'cool' bar with good food. read more

Bunch of lifelong friends and I were camping in the area that is just beautiful! Colors starting to change, weather crisp and cool. Michigan has their Big Ten opener and we wanted to watch it. We found this place! Shout out to our waitress Kerry! Very good at what she's does! We order a cheeseburger, fries, bowl of chicken soup and chili. My buddy loved his burger! I really liked the chicken soup, but the chili was good but was missing something? Maybe it was just me. Great place to just hang for good food and drinks! read more

Went on a Thursday night. Our waitress was amazing! Very friendly. Sorry no pictures of food. We had the smoked wings, these are both the wing and the drum, the were huge! The wings were moist and full of flavor. Also had the OG thins- think of thin garlic bread that is crisp with a cheese dipping sauce. YUMMY. The ribs and 1/2 chicken were also great! This is our new favorite spot in Irons. read more

One of my favorite places to eat when we've been on trails all day. Their nachos are awesome, The 1/2 Small is plenty I always have leftovers which aren't bad cold btw. It's a bar so the atmosphere is exactly that. I definitely recommend trying it out! read more

Rude service from the waitress she had a terrible attitude, looked annoyed when we asked questions and wouldn't even acknowledge us afterwards , all of the food we ordered was disappointing. The nachos we ordered looked like they sprinkled shredded cheese over tortilla chips and stuck it in the microwave, the wet burrito left my husband sick and my friends' chicken tenders were so overcooked and tough. This is basically THE bar to go to when you're at deer camp in the Baldwin area. The food is typical bar fare, but the atmosphere around deer season is amazing. A great place to watch the OSU/UofM game. It's got a small dance floor, horrid bathrooms (there's not even a door on the stall), but the beer is cold and the food is greasy. Perfect. Food wasn't too bad. Fried pepper jack balls were interesting as were the bread stick/nacho cheese dipper things. What i don't like is places that can't even splurge on a door for the mens bathroom stall. That says one of two things: 1) They are so cheap they simply wont pay to install one. In this case, imagine what they're actually serving you.... 2) Such nefarious activities happen behind that stall door that they have no choice but to remove the door. Either way that's bad news. The place is divey, has a dance floor and actually had a DJ when we were there. If you're into sketchy bars, this is right up your alley. No thanks. read more

It's a place of legends! My family has been coming here for centuries and I can't wait till the day I get to bring my own children here! I remember the owners dog doing countless tricks for us and then he'd bring his horse into the bar and feed him a snickers bar! Hands down the best nachos you will ever find. And you can't beat thier Tuesday chilidog deal! This is a place where time slows down and you remember what it's like to be proud to be an American! This place is a tradition in our family. We usually head there on Tuesday nights when we're in the area- although the price of hot dogs have gone up alarmingly - but they have other acceptable fare. Don't order the Long Island Ice tea, you will not get drunk off one but the price for one will sure make ya queasy!! $14.00 for one drink and they limit them to 2 drinks per customer since "we put a lot of shots into one".... The service was fine and the og sticks for an appetizer were awesome but I ordered a cheeseburger medium done. It came rare with blood all over the bottom bun. Grossed me out. I'm not one to complain and was even thinking about eating it but couldn't do it. The waitress took it back and got me another one. With extended family visiting for the annual Flea Roast Ox Market in Irons, we visited Oak Grove Tavern on Friday, June 24, 2011. We had a group of 10 and asked the server if a couple of tables could be pushed together. She said I would have to ask the manager (really??). I asked and he said no, the tables could not be moved. Although in the same area, we sat at different tables. We place our order and waited...and waited. After a little over a hour a different server approached our table and asked if we were ready for our check. I told her we hadn't received our meals yet! She quickly left. The manager then came to the table and said our food would be JUST a little longer as they were so busy (not really). He proceeded to start pushing tables together. Apparently if you wait over a hour for your food, you can now push tables together. Thirty minutes later our food arrived. The current server admitted that our original server had not put our order in to the kitchen prior to ending her shift and leaving the building. The manager never apologized, offered dessert, or a drink on the house...just the lie that the kitchen was busy. Maybe in the future he should make sure that his staff knows the lie he is going to tell so that they all tell the same story. Don't go here if you need a quick meal or have a large party - the manager is definitely not accommodating to either. read more
