All these high reviews are well deserved not just for food but staff were very nice for as busy as they were and the place was very clean. Someone wrote a bad comment that they had no boneless wings and I like boneless too... but I am concerned that anyone would remotely expect boneless wings off a chicken at a place that is cooking whole chickens. It looks packed when you drive by. I was very worried about getting a spot with my group of 8. They had a live band and I am not a fan of bands after a long day but it we were able to find a spot quickly and away that it was pleasant. Didn't cost to much to feed our group of 8, the food came out quick and everyone loved there items! It's simple to order you can either do it through a kiosk or a person: The one improvement could be to get another pop machine as it as a wait and employees pushed around me while I was filling up my tables drinks. Eveyone liked the wings, I felt they were a bit over cooked but I was the only one who felt that way. Very good with lots of flavor! We will definitely go back when we are in that area! read more

We LOVE the chicken shack. We make a trip to eat there once a summer. You can order ahead, order virtually, or order with a staff person. We had chicken wings, baked potatoes, and rolls. Our order was done very quickly. We like to mix the honey bbq with the hot sauce to make a hot and tangy dipping sauce. The entire time we were there, there were staff people cleaning tables, cleaning sauce stations, and emptying garbages. The chicken wings are next level. So flavorful on their own and so juicy. We didn't grab drinks from the bar this time, but the prices are super reasonable. I loved that they had the Olympics playing on the big projector tv while we were there. The chicken shack is in between a Craig's Cruisers and campground, so there is so much going on around you. So many happy people on vacation. The vibes are great here. read more

When you enter you can choose a self-serve kiosk or to order at a register. It was very busy but only took a moment for our family of 4 to place our self serve order and pick up a buzzer. We asked where to get our cups and the employee said they would come out with our food. I hesitated because it was hot, my kids were thirsty and I assumed we would be waiting awhile. She immediately and kindly pointed us to where the kids could get water while we waited. I couldn't believe we had our food in under 10 minutes! Super impressive given the crowd. There is a ton of seating, lots of tvs and you can overlook the water for Craig Cruiser's bumper boats. We really enjoyed the food for what it was. The chicken was unlike any chicken I've had in Michigan absolutely incredible. It was flavorful, juicy, and clearly made with care, standing out from the typical fare you find around here. I'm not a big fan of the self service setup they have (but I'm an old soul, so maybe that's just me). I got the 6 wings dinner with a side and for 14$ you'd think it would come w a drink but no. The wings were okay, but for advertising best wings ever well that's false. I wasn't too impressed and for the price, it dosent even come with sauce you have to do everything yourself including putting your own sauce from a dispenser, and cleaning up your table. Nasty food. Although they're known for their wings, I ordered the hot dog. It was cold and tasteless. The coleslaw was ok... and the fries were good but fries are really hard to mess up. I tried a wing and it wasn't that good either. The live music from 7-11 is the only redeeming factor. The food also comes in styrofoam boxes. Im not a save the planet fanatic but even plastic containers are better. I wasn't expecting some 5 star dining but warm food would be nice at least. The Chicken Shack has basically covered outdoor seating, so that pile of sand you leave behind isn't an issue. You don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a meal. Whether you get a handful of wings and fries or a half chicken dinner that comes with two sides, a meal here averages about $13-$14 without drinks. You may or may not have the time to sit and eat. Maybe you change your mind halfway through your meal. The Chicken Shack has you covered there too. Your meal is served in to-go containers. Of course whatever you decide to eat, you want it to taste good and be fast. The Chicken Shack has a constant flow of customers. They've streamlined this process to file as many people through the door as possible. Their chicken has several sauce options, or the famous Billy Bones dry rub that are all delicious. We were in MI on vacation and went on the sand dunes ride & around the corner was this big outdoor, but covered shack. You get in line & order then find yourself a table and they bring your chicken to you once it's ready, so not a restaurant where you get waited on. The chicken was surprisingly good! The food is good. If not for other components, I'd give the food 5 stars. The complexity for a first time visitor is ordering. In our current Covid-19 everyone has different rules or procedures. As we walked in, we were greeted and then told order at the counter or a order station. We were a group of 5, we wanted to look at a menu. So we went a little deeper and figured out were that was posted (not near the order kiosk). There were plenty of picnic tables around for seating. And I watched a young man wipe tables pretty quickly as people got up. (Great job!). As our order was ready, it was all in foam boxes and then bagged in plastic. This is lowering my rating a bit. The waste seems extreme on this. Not sure if we missed a "to go or eating in" option on the order board? But again, the chicken wings were agreeably by the five of us THE BEST WINGS we have ever eaten. read more
