Barbie donuts

I was able to visit during the Krispy x Barbie collaboration, and was able to treat myself to a Barbie pink sprinkle donut. It was so sugary good, but a definite consume-in-moderation type treat. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was so nice (offering me another free donut for that day's promotion). Therefore, I was thoroughly "sugared-out" by the end of my visit, but still happily delighted. Given that it is conveniently located in the Dupont Circle area, I see myself visiting again in the future for my sugary donut needs!

Incredible but true! A dozen donuts (glazed) are FREE today for the first 500 customers through the door. I was the 6th person in line this morning. I'm an early bird, always have been. It pays off sometimes! It's World Kindness Day, and this is how Krispy Kreme is being kind. True story. Krispy Kreme--You Rock.

9/7/24 8pm Party of 1 Stopped by after dinner for a sweet treat. I was greeted when I walked in. Ordered: 1 Malibu Barbie Dream House donut 7/10- it's a Boston cream donut with a lot of blue icing on top. The donut itself was good but the icing was too much. I took off the entire top layer. It's still super cute though. Caramel latte 7/10: added an extra espresso shot, non fat milk and no whip. I couldn't taste any caramel but overall it was okay. Stop by and try their Barbie themed donuts.

I came in here on a Wednesday close to 9am during my morning commute. I stood near the the case of doughnuts on display since one person was ahead of me placing their order. As I waited, I shortly heard "next in line" from the register and it was Honesty! She proceeded to take my order, asked me if I wanted the donuts hot, rang me up, and I was out the door in less than 3 minutes. I sincerely appreciated her kindness. It was a great start to my morning and I made it to work on time. Thank you Honesty!

Dozen. Glazed. HOT.

My favourite doughnuts. This place is small, but cute. Coffee is ok as well. Like it.

I've been coming to this place ever since they first opened which was early 2007 I believe, and they have always been on point! A few times I have come in and had coffee and donuts, but a majority of the time I would order my donuts to go. Even though the restaurant is rather small inside, they could do a better job and add a few more tables for people. Also the cleanliness of the store wasn't the best when I came in on this Sunday morning. I had some excitement for the strawberry iced glazed or even the chocolate iced glazed donuts, but I needed to think about other people who would be eating them, not just myself. ordered a dozen glazed donuts to bring home for me and the family, and I doubt that they will last through tomorrow. That's because they make them so delicious!

I came here for donuts and coffee. My husband and I ordered 4 original and 2 Bostons and then told the young lady we wanted an assortment for the rest. We open our box and got only one Boston and instead of a second one we received a cake batter. And the "assortment" she selected was two cinnamon sugar, 2 blueberry and two chocolate sprinkle frosting. I've been to Krispy Kreme multiple times and never got an assortment were the lazy worker just put two of a few flavors. The young lady wasn't paying much attention while we ordered. What a bummer, hopefully next time we get an actual assortment of the flavors. Only good part about this trip was the coffee! We got the vanilla latte and then a vanilla and caramel latte.

Dear reader, Call…read moreYour Mother in Georgetown is definitely a bit of a splurge for a bagel, but fortunately, the food is good enough to justify all day long. The Mountain View sandwich is my personal favourite and has never let me down. It's got mashed avocado, bodega-style egg, and latke. Oh my! If you've never had a latke, you've got to try it! Even the bagels on their own are excellent, particularly the sesame, which has the proper chew and flavour one hopes for. The Georgetown location is also ridiculously charming. That bright pink corner building has been something of a local photo op for years, and it is almost impossible to walk past without noticing it. It is also perfectly situated for grabbing your food and wandering around Georgetown afterward. The employees are always nice and keep things moving despite the crowds. They've got the fresh bagels, friendly service, and a semi-iconic location. Sure it gets a busy with a queue out the door, but it moves quicker than you'd think and gives you time to study the menu! Pricey? Certainly. Worth treating yourself? I don't say so.

I've been here a few times and it's consistently excellent. I always get the same thing (Sun City…read morewithout meat) and it's fantastic. The place gets pretty crowded at times, especially on the weekends, but the line moves pretty fast and the orders come out quickly. The people working there are friendly, too, and even give out stickers to kids. Nowhere to sit inside, so be ready to find a place in the neighborhood.

The egg, was flavorful without overwhelming the croissant. If I can put an image in your head: it felt like a synchronized symphony in your mouth. The coffee was strong, for artificial sweetener this place doesn't have sucralose or similar to it. They have stevia in Splenda packets. For sugar they have regular packets honey, brown sugar and regular sugar. The service was quick for the time we went. Staff responded to my questions about their other pastries. I would go for that alone, but unfortunately for me, everything else is also amazing. I live in Adams Morgan, so I have another neighborhood bakery that I frequent simply because it's closer. Rose Ave is still fairly close, and I go pretty regularly, but somehow I had never taken my parents there. On their most recent visit, we happened to be nearby and stopped in. My mom was genuinely annoyed with me. Not actually angry, obviously, but after trying everything she basically wanted to know why, if Rose Ave was this close to where I live, I had been taking her to the other bakery all these years. Apparently I had been depriving her of what she now considers the best bakery she's been to in DC. (For the record, I refuse to pit two excellent bakeries against each other. There is room in my life for both.) I've tried the breakfast sandwiches, several of the filled pastries, and plenty of the more elaborate creations, and everything is fantastic. But oddly enough, one of my absolute favorites is their simple vanilla donut. There is something perfect about it. It isn't overwhelmingly sugary, but it's still sweet, soft, delicate, and just feels like the perfect little treat. Conveniently, my doctor's office is also nearby, so I have developed a very mature healthcare system in which I schedule morning appointments and reward myself afterward with Rose Ave. I'm pretty sure doing responsible grown-up things for my health cancels out the sugar. I have not asked my doctor to confirm this.

Instead of leaving the logistics to a third-party organizer, Caspian Crust hosts the experience themselves, and it works beautifully. Everyone shares one long Sultan Breakfast table, making it easy to meet new people over incredible food. If you see one of these events, book it. It's absolutely worth it. The Sultan Breakfast was outstanding and there was so much food. The value for the price is incredible. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and I especially appreciated that many of the traditional meat dishes use beef rather than pork. As someone who doesn't eat pork, that made it easy to enjoy nearly everything on the table. One of the unexpected highlights was learning more about the culture. Another guest at our table was from Türkiye, and she shared that breakfast is traditionally enjoyed before coffee. Once I knew that, it completely reset my expectations. Instead of wondering where the coffee was, I got to enjoy an amazing, leisurely breakfast first. There was a little confusion at the end about whether coffee was included with our event, but the staff quickly sorted it out, and we finished with Turkish coffee and a piece of Turkish delight. It ended up being the perfect ending to the meal. I also learned that the owners have family roots in Azerbaijan, which makes a lot of sense once you see the menu. While the restaurant describes itself as Mediterranean, the flavors and breakfast traditions are distinctly Turkish and Azerbaijani, and it is wonderfully authentic.

The top level is for reservations only, from what I understand. I had the sujuk and eggs, which was just like I had in Turkey. My only complaint was I didn't love the bread that came with it - I would've preferred simit, but also was full enough I didn't need another bread. We also split the spinach and feta börek, which was delicious. I did feel like it could've been warmer. My husband had the beef melt panini - while not inherently Turkish, he enjoyed it. Finally, the honey cake was simple, flavorful, and not overwhelming for the 2 of us to split.
