So we got a couple more goodies here as well as our iced coffees and a hot cocoa for our kiddo. The folks on this side were unfriendly and uninterested in customer service ("Just checking in on our quiche...?";"Oh, we totally forgot. We'll put it in now."). We weren't impressed with most of our items though some were better than others. Unsurprisingly, the cupcakes were the best; we got the nutella and "unicorn" ones, and both were moist with excellent frostings. We especially appreciated the filling in the nutella. The chocolate chip cookie was terrible--our daughter, a cookie fiend, refused to have another bite of it. We liked the novelty of the "orange dream" shortcake. As for the other stuff, the spicy sausage biscuit was not spicy at all and had the consistency of rubber. The quiche that finally came out was too oily, but we all liked the decadent cinnamon roll. Bit of a mixed bag all around, so we're settling on three stars. We ourselves won't be back, but others might have a better experience on a different day.

I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. I haven't patronized this store in years due to inconsistent quality in the past, but at the time of this recent review, Red Velvet Cupcakery is back on top! Truthfully, this is the only place that Ive enjoyed the red velvet flavor, and no one else in the area comes close to the way this shop creates their signature cupcake. Their other flavors are fantastic too..and you can taste the realness in their ingredients. Everything is always packaged neatly and sustainably..and the customer service (in the past) has always been kind and efficient. Highly recommend!

The service offers discounted local area store food that otherwise goes to waste and also helps discover many small business restaurants. I am glad I purchased the cupcakes at a discounted price instead of $4/cupcake or $24+ tax. The cupcakes were underwhelming in presentation. The taste and texture wasn't exactly the best. Some of the cupcakes looked like someone else was about to eat it but changed their mind because the cupcake shell was peeled off. The white frosting was runny and tasted oddly sour. The bottom half of the cupcakes were very dry and stale. I ended up throwing away most of it. I get it that these cupcakes were meant to be thrown out or otherwise given away for free. I just didn't expect the items to taste accordingly. I have no idea how long ago these cupcakes were made despite the claim that it is baked fresh daily. Whatever the case is, I won't be returning and I wouldn't recommend it for my friends and family. This place is a joke -- where do I even begin?…read more We made reservations for a table on the covered patio this past Friday at 5:30 p.m. My wife, our two kids, and I arrived right on time, and the patio was mostly empty: two tables of four were occupied, while five other tables of four sat empty, along with a few high-tops and seats at the bar. The host was a bit gruff, but initially it didn't seem like a big deal. She seated us all the way in the back of the patio, directly in the path of the setting sun. Since there were plenty of open tables in shaded areas, we politely asked if we could move. We were told no because those tables were "reserved." We reminded the staff that we also had a reservation and asked why we couldn't sit at one of those tables instead. It's not like we walked in without one expecting special treatment. The host just kept repeating, "I'm sorry, but those tables are already reserved." They offered to move us inside or to the front side of the restaurant, but refused to seat us anywhere else on the covered patio. After more back-and-forth, the host finally relented with an annoyed, "That's fine, we can just adjust," and walked us over to a table that had technically still been occupied moments earlier. We then awkwardly stood there waiting for the diners to gather their things and leave while the staff rushed to clean the table. Once we sat down, the host came back out visibly upset, loudly rearranging and slamming tables while muttering to herself -- the only word I clearly caught was "unbelievable." She was obviously unhappy with us. The absurd part is that the "adjustment" she made was incredibly simple: she turned two four-top tables into a two-top and a larger table seating seven. Even after that, two other four-top tables remained untouched. During our meal, one of those tables was given to a mother and her young son, and the other to two dads and their daughters. So I'm still not sure why we were treated as though accommodating us was impossible. The rest of the staff honestly seemed just as uncomfortable with the situation as we were. The food itself was fine, but at that point we probably should have left. I've never been treated with this level of disrespect and disdain at a restaurant before. I honestly don't understand why the host was so determined to stick us in the back. Was it because we had a baby? Or because we didn't fit the racial profile of the clientele they want to attract? Either way, we won't be back.

The way the pastry crumbled in my mouth with every bite, combined with the tart, fresh raspberries, and thick flavorful custard.... Was worth every penny. The ladies who greeted us at the cash register were so patient, so kind, and so understanding of my excitement and difficulty deciding and they even helped me add on a little chocolate happy birthday rectangle to the pastry I purchased for my husband!
