I drove past Donut Connection a few times but it didn't have that inviting look. But today I was blessed to get a chance to try a glazed donut while volunteering (someone bought a couple dozen). I always like to try a glazed first because it's a classic choice. Let me tell you, their glazed donut is excellent! It is moist and perfectly sweet without being too sweet. I think I have officially found Waldorf's best, and I'll definitely be stopping by on my next drive down Leonardtown Road.

Unique rotating flavors like their crab dip and cinnamon cheesecake I really make them stand out. And as I believe I've said before, they are so light and fluffy! It's so awesome that they have five vegan flavors: coconut, mixed berry, lemon, cinnamon sugar, and cookies & creme. Previously I was just enjoying their donuts, but I finally got to try one of their acai bowls and I was such a fan! I don't drink coffee, but my parents enjoy what they offer. The music is cozy, the entire space is cozy, and when the weather is nice, sitting outside is such a pleasure. My time there tends to be a combination of quiet and chill versus a line almost out the door. I hope they continue to do well, being the only location left in the area. Now I would be overjoyed if they came to PG county, but I find it unlikely :)

Not only was I impressed by the fact that they said yes to my order, but it was done on time, stayed hot throughout the 45 min drive, and tasted soooo delicious !!!! I ordered 12 chicken, and 12 cheese tamales; and 24 empanadas. My food was the first to disappear and the ladies kept mentioning how good it was! So grateful to have authentic food nearby. I know enough Spanish to speak to a 4 year old, so I was way out of my league! I noticed upon arrival that they have some baked good, grocery goods, and apparently hot dishes given there were a few tables where people were actively eating. I just kind of strolled around for a minute looking lost. There is no one readily available to help people like me with the deer-in-headlights look. I had hoped to try an empanadas but it seemed intimidating so I strolled over to the shelves where there were various breads, pastries and cookies. I was still a bit lost because I first saw people with trays and grabbing breads but I thought they might be employees. But after wandering in another circle I noticed a lady grabbing a tray and tongs. I then saw the little sign that said to use the trays and tongs for the baked goods. I then followed the lady and managed to grab a few items. I had hoped for some cupcakes or donuts but saw neither. I did however get a cheese danish, a couple of cookies and a couple of breads. The items I got were pretty good and the bread was fairly soft. I certainly wasn't disappointed in any of the items I grabbed, I only wished there were a few other sweet items and a better system to better understand how best to navigate the store. But all things considered, the baked goods were good enough that I may very well be back to sample other items.

They have added a bakery, hot food, larger section of beautiful and healthy looking flowers, and the farm festival, which is my favorite local fest in the area. Tickets are $16.99 online and include a hayride, maze, and games. Perfect for kids and adults. The maze is great if you want something fun to do but don't want to be stuck for hours, took us about 20 minutes. Lemonade, cotton candy, funnel cakes, and hot food was also available. Friendly staff. Highly recommend if you're looking for something local and economical. This year I noticed they also had people helping to direct you to available parking. If you're going for the farm festival, make a turn by the sign with the arrow and there's plenty of additional parking around the back of the main building. If you try to park up front, you probably will have a tough time finding parking, plus you'd have to walk about 10 minutes around the back to get to the fall fest anyway.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

The plantains on top of it were good but I'm used to receiving more plantains than what this place provides. The oxtail was delicious and the whole grilled fish was just average - it was on the small side and not seasoned well. The puff puff was tasty and I truly enjoyed it. For the portion sizes, the price was too high. I have gotten whole fish twice the size for the same price, as well as more oxtail pieces for a lesser price. So while the food was mostly good it is overpriced.
