    Donuts. Point of sale.
    Mike R.

Checking things out this morning and stopped by Costco and took a look at some (4) cheese danishes for $12 and decided no. Got my lips all fixed for the caramelized cheese blueberry croissants which I plan to pick up next week. Those things are decadent. Stopped in this lovely little bakery to pick up a couple of items instead. I got a PB&J donut and a Boston Cream. Met the owner, Mark, and he and I had a chance to talk for a bit. Nice guy. Lovely donut shop. We talked about wiggly cakes and scones...and Crumbl. They have a few more donuts I plan to try - including strawberry with coconut next time. The donuts are larger than the grocery store variety. They sell other breakfast delights plus coffee too, and have been there for a while. Terrific member of the merchant community. The service was friendly and the ambiance is warm. They are in a strip mall that's essentially empty but for them. Parking on-site and abundant.

Walls is a bit of nostalgia for our family as we were devotees of its ancestor business The Wigwam Bakery for many years. We are glad to see the quality has continued to shine! Great doughnuts and EXCELLENT, HUGE eclairs! This is definitely worth the short diversion off of Route 301 in Waldorf MD when on a road trip.

2026 You can't best this Bskery for great desserts at reasonable prices!!! stopped in to pick up a cake and a couple of eclairs. You just can't beat this bakery not just the price, but the bakery itself off was really good desserts. Donuts seem to be a big hit not so much for my family. We like the eclairs and the cakes.. we've been going to walls for a number of years way back when it was in a cute TeePee. Love the assortment of cakes, but it would be nice if they would continue to offer half cakes so you can bring home several different types to please everyone in the family. Also would like to suggest that they offer a chocolate birthday cake with yellow inside not just white icing. Most of the bakeries at the grocery stores offer cakes were the icing is so sweet. It's not edible but it walls you get icing that has a sweetness, but doesn't hurt your teeth.. for me that's a big hit because I'm all about the icing Keep up the good work walls. I miss not having your elephant ears available when I stop by.

This bakery has a history starting in the 1960s when Tony and Mary Walls opened in Calvert County, MD. It got noticed when it moved in 1974 to a building that was formerly called the Wigwam casino in Waldorf, MD. George and Crystal Walls ran the bakery until 2001. It was revived by their children and grandson in 2006 at the Calvert Country Market shopping center in Calvert County, MD, and then moved to the current location. My wife and I have visited many times since it was at the Wigwam building. We were dating when I took her to Wigwam. It was her first visit and she got an eclair. The products they sell have been getting worse in taste and texture over the years. How are they now? We got 3 items. 1) Chocolate eclair This is their best seller. It's hugh in size for an eclair. That's why the choux pastry has terrible texture. The big size makes it impossible to avoid cracks while baking. That leads to dryness. Our eclairs had big cracks everywhere. It was dry and chewy on the inside, hard on the outside, and dense throughout. It tasted like bland white bread. The filling tasted like vanilla pudding from a manufacturer. It's not bad, it's just typical vanilla pudding. The topping was chocolate frosting, not ganache or fondant. Typical tasting and moderately sweet. Overall, it was okay tasting except for the awful choux pastry. This has gotten worse since we last got it about 6 months ago. Sorry to see that. There are many better eclairs out there. 2) Cherry danish It was crisp and flaky on the outside. Airy, moist, and slightly chewy on the inside with no sweetness or butter flavor. It had icing drizzled on top. The cherry jam topping was moderately sweet with a light cherry flavor. It had no tartness and tasted artificial. It was thick with no pieces of cherries. This pastry was edible and forgettable. 3) Blueberry danish It had the same pastry dough with icing as above. The topping was blueberry jam. It was thick with no pieces of blueberries. It was moderately sweet and slightly tart with a modest blueberry flavor. This jam had more flavor than the cherry jam. This pastry was okay but not special in any way. The service was helpful, attentive, and polite. The store was old, worn, drab, and relatively clean. There wasn't a restroom for customers. There is a free parking lot. They also have doughnuts, pies, brownies, cookies, bread, loaf cakes, cannoli, and whole cakes (no individual slices). We have tried everything over the years, and we've found that the taste and texture of everything varied except for the eclair. That is, until now. The food is not great. It can be good or mediocre. You never know. The food here offers great value to people who want quantity over quality. You get hugh portions at lower prices compared to other bakeries. We visit less and buy less with each visit. There are better bakeries out there with more variety, better ambiance, and tastier pastries that are made better. My enthusiasm for this place has fallen over the years as I find better bakeries all around the DC area. I have reviewed the good and the bad. This place is definitely in the middle.

Best doughnuts I've ever had, they are fluffy and have the right amount of crunch the frosting on top has the perfect amount of sweetness. I got both the chocolate frosted and peanut butter doughnuts and they were INCREDIBLE!! I also got the eclair and it was fantastic from the cream filling to the chocolate frosting it was the best eclair I've ever had. The service is incredible the lady working was so nice and helpful. It is super clean and smells incredible when you walk in. I 100% recommend I would drive all the way here just for a doughnut.

I know enough Spanish to speak to a 4 year old, so I was way out of my league! I noticed upon arrival that they have some baked good, grocery goods, and apparently hot dishes given there were a few tables where people were actively eating. I just kind of strolled around for a minute looking lost. There is no one readily available to help people like me with the deer-in-headlights look. I had hoped to try an empanadas but it seemed intimidating so I strolled over to the shelves where there were various breads, pastries and cookies. I was still a bit lost because I first saw people with trays and grabbing breads but I thought they might be employees. But after wandering in another circle I noticed a lady grabbing a tray and tongs. I then saw the little sign that said to use the trays and tongs for the baked goods. I then followed the lady and managed to grab a few items. I had hoped for some cupcakes or donuts but saw neither. I did however get a cheese danish, a couple of cookies and a couple of breads. The items I got were pretty good and the bread was fairly soft. I certainly wasn't disappointed in any of the items I grabbed, I only wished there were a few other sweet items and a better system to better understand how best to navigate the store. But all things considered, the baked goods were good enough that I may very well be back to sample other items.

You can tell the dishes are made with authentic ingredients. The portions were generous too, so come hungry. The service was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Food was amazing. The second time I did a DoorDash. I ordered oxtails and beef suya. The oxtails and Suya were tough. I couldn't eat it. Today, I decided to go in again and give it another try. EPIC Fail. I ordered beef suya with jolly rice and cabbage and tomato stew. The suya was so tough almost like jerky!! I immediately got in my car to take the food back. The tomato soup was half soup/half oil. The cabbage was super bland almost like they just steamed it in water and that's it. The ladies inside Choba were accommodating and understanding although they tried to tell me the suya wasn't overcooked or old. I ended up just swapping the Suya for stewed beef. Have look at what they gave me! lol.. I'll add the suya costs more than the stewed beef. There is barely any beef in the stew. In short, I've had two experiences where the food was either clearly old or overcooked and the food is too expensive for the small portions they give. I have a whole pan full of rice and cabbage and 5 pieces of meet in oils and soup. Check your food before you leave the establishment. Check everything. I liked this place the first time but after two more failed attempts.. it's a NO.
