I used to buy all of my celebratory cakes from this bakery. However, I stopped after over hearing the owner's brother/son make a racist comment about my 80 year old mother's favorite type of music being go-go. Always enjoy the variety of Cupcakes. They have red velvet is always my favorite. Thank you so much..

I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the 2 cakes I ordered for my mom's 90th birthday party. Everyone there raved about how delicious they were and the freshness of the cake. The cake was decorated beautifully as well. Thanks for making my mom's 90th birthday perfect! read more

We are new to the area and my birthday rolled around. Hubby got cupcakes to celebrate. Lots of bakeries in the area, but my husband happened upon this shop and we were not disappointed. He did not make an appointment, he literally just walked in. To his surprise they had a very nice selection of assorted cupcakes. He chose a few and they were all delicious! The cupcakes were all fresh and stayed moist days after my birthday. He said the staff was friendly and accommodating. Try them out you not be disappointed read more

I'd consider myself a cupcake enthusiast! This spot is one of my favorites I've discovered during the pandemic in Waldorf, Md. Types of cupcakes: Very creative flavors and plenty to choose from!!! There will be something for everyone. My fave is the apple caramel and key lime All of them are delicious though! Location: It's not centrally located in Waldorf, but they are delicious so I will go out of my way for this place. Plenty of parking. Hours: They close at 5pm. I really wish they stayed open later! Other: They make A LOT of wedding cakes so a tried, true and trusted Baker. Will I go back? Absolutely and I do quite often read more

The lady at the front was extremely sweet! She was very helpful. The place is small, cozy, and amazing. The cupcakes are awesome!!

What more can I say?! The pictures speak for itself. I'm so please with the results for both cakes on my son's first birthday. The party hasn't even started yet and I couldn't wait to show off his cakes. He has a smash cake and a regular cake with fondant. Both cakes were Mickey Mouse themed. I haven't tasted them yet, but I'm sure they'll be delicious as I'm a new regular for their cupcakes. I'm in love with their double chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. read more

The cake was amazing. I purchased a pink heart two layer cake for my daughter 17th birthday. It was a big hit. Five star service.

I got 1 key lime cupcake & 2 red velvet. Got to my car bit into the red velvet & it was hard cold & dry & old tasting. Had a white hair in it. Took them bk in asked for a refund. Owner didnt address me at all or ask if there was anything she could do. Sd out loud to the cashier "im not gonna argue about it give her the $9.75". Very rude very nasty no customer svc. Do not patronize this business. Its unclean & unkept inside, svc is terrible, and they obviously dont wear hairnets. read more

Definitely would not buy one again. Cake was dry and full of holes with very little frosting. Texture more like cornbread than cake. The only thing positive I can say is that the piece I bought was big. read more

Another hit! My now 21 year old daughter bought me a birthday cake today and it was fantastic! I'm an Amazon addict so this was the perfect gift. She got a mix of strawberry and vanilla cake, and they were delicious. The flavor is just wonderful; so moist and delicious. I love this bakery. They've never disappointed me. I am pretty sure I'll just keep using them. This latest cake just blew me away with how real it looked. Everyone thought it looked like a real Amazon box. A++ again! read more

I admit it...I have a big sweet tooth and I get weak in the knees for a good cupcake or cake. I was happy to come across this bakery after moving to the area especially my go to place is closed due to covid. The bakery is tucked away in the corner of a shopping center so I almost missed it. Upon entry, I saw a decent array of cupcakes and cakes in display. I ordered 1 lemon, 1 vanilla with chocolate frosting, and 1 almond. Of the three, I enjoyed the lemon which had a fluffy icing and lemon curd inside. I wanted to like the almond because the taste was there but the cake was alittle heavy for my liking. Ditto for the vanilla and the chocolate frosting was too sweet and missed the mark. I think I'll order a small cake in the near future to see if the texture is better (less wet and heavy) than the cupcakes because I'm really looking for a go to local bakery. read more

I ordered lemon, Sweet Potato and carrot cupcakes. The first two were my absolute favorite. So far theeee best bakery in the area.

When you are looking for a bakery for a very special time in your life whether its a wedding cake or for a baby shower, you want that experience to be enjoyable and the bakers you work with to be nice that in fact was NOT the case. I hope the lady we spoke with was not an owner because if so she needs to work on her people skills and let someone else work the front. Also, the front of the bakery was extremely dirty and cluttered the glass that housed the cupcake display was disgusting! And last but not least they acted like we couldn't afford their dry ass cupcakes my little sister could bake better then this. read more

My favorite bakery in my neighborhood! They always nail all the flavors with the perfect amount of add ons. Either a cream middle or a little extra of something on top to compliment the cupcake perfectly. You cannot go wrong! Prices are very reasonable. read more

Over the last few years, I have ordered several times from this bakery. I've ordered large quantities of cupcakes. I've even ordered large quantities through Nicks of Clinton from this bakery. Of course the cupcakes were delicious. However, my last large order was repulsive. Commonsense would inject that this was not done on purpose. So I made contact with the bakery and their professional response was heartbreaking. I was told, "Oh well ya I don't know, we use same recipe all time, sometimes don't get color etc...". How on Gods green earth is that customer service or an appropriate response from a corporation or business to a customer? As a business, you should encourage customer retention not the total opposite, that's business 101 I think? How in the world do you tell a customer not to order color icing, it is your job as a professional to balance out your ingredients. I'm just totally disappointed and I've wasted time and money, supporting a business that refused to even say, we apologize or we will assure that will not happen again or anything positive!!!! I am disgusted that I supported a business like this. I'm not just coming in to buy one or two cupcakes I buy many, bulk amounts and this is the thanks I get as a customer. During these unfortunate, sad times it is heart wrenching that businesses no longer care and don't take customer service or customer retention seriously. read more

Terrible customer service!! Ordered a cake for my father's 70th Birthday. Specifically told the owner, we didn't want fondant on our cake and she agreed to use buttercream icing. Called a week before to increase the cake size and the person on the phone agreed and reiterated that the icing would be buttercream. The cake had a huge bubble on the top of the cake, we were disappointed but we let that pass. Along with the cake not looking like we asked after we gave her a picture of the kind of cake we wanted and told her the colors were black and gold. She decided to make her design. Called the bakery two days after the event to complain about the icing only and the owner says we never specified the icing type and there was nothing she could do. Very rude and unprofessional. Will never purchase from this bakery and encourage others not to as well. read more

I passed by on my way to do a rescue at the animal shelter. I called ahead of time and ordered 4 cupcakes. When I got there I saw 2 people inside, so I waited outside. When I got inside the owner was serving customers and was wearing a mask. I was happy to see that. She had seen me standing outside with my rescue and asked if I was there to get sweet potato cupcakes. I said no, but since she mentioned it, I would take one extra for the pup. I took the living off and he had a little celebration cake to start his freedom ride off on the right foot and to celebrate his rescue. He wolfed it down! I took my time with mine so that I could really savor them. The peanut butter chocolate cupcake is what pulled me in, but the strawberry lemonade and champagne and raspberry were a nice surprise. Delicious and moist, the chocolate wasn't too sweet and the peanut butter was perfect. I also tried the strawberry lemonade and it made me sing hallelujah! I cant wait to try the champagne raspberry one tomorrow. read more

Great local bakery! I first heard of Cakelicious when I purchased individual cake slices from Nicks if Clinton which is in the same shopping center. The cakes are flavorful, moist and undeniably homemade. One day on my way to the car, I noticed that the actual bakery that supplies items to Nicks was right across the way. I stopped in and purchased a variety of cupcakes and was impressed! The person who I believe is the owner happened to be in that day and was very pleasant. We had a short conversation that let me know she was very easygoing and down to earth. The prices for the cupcakes and cakes are great and they are freshly prepared. I would absolutely order a custom cake from here with no reservations. I often stop by for a cupcake or 6 when I have company in town. Stop by and have a look, their variety is awesome! read more

I love this bakery. I have been going here for almost 4 years and have gotten all of my cakes and cupcakes here. Customer service is fantastic, great flavors to choose from. The key lime is great and so is the lemon blueberry

I'm only giving this place 1 star because I have to be able to write a review. They frankly deserve none for both their cakes and their customer service. We ordered my sons 2nd birthday cake from there and it was the worst cake I have ever seen. Not only was it extremely overpriced, but my son and I could have made an even better cake in our kitchen for half the price! I asked for a Monsters Inc. cake with full Sully and Mike displayed all over. He loves the Monsters and that is the entire theme for his party - centering around what we thought would be a beautifully decorated and captivating cake. What we got was a slapped together sheet cake with an edible image (the image we showed them as an idea for what we wanted) slightly painted on and peeling at the sides. If you look at the picture you can see the cut out and how it was pressed on and starting to curl up at the sides. When I called to inform the place how extremely disappointed I was that my sons cake was ruined the OWNER got on the phone and said it was our fault for how we ordered it. When we ordered they asked us if we wanted it edible and of course, not being bakers ourselves, we stated we would like an edible cake with fondant and designs - as have been every cake we've ordered in the past few years. The owner continued to tell me that we ordered it incorrectly and then informed me that she could've done the cake I wanted, but that it cost more - insinuating I couldn't pay?? I mean I shelled out $135 for the below cake - now you tell me. I'm curious, if the cake I really wanted was designed, what it would actually look like. I'm beyond irritated at the situation and am not only embarrassed to serve the cake tomorrow, but to even post the picture! Save yourself the trouble and stick with what you know and that is not Simply Cakelicious! read more

Simply Cakelicious - $135 for a cake I could've made better at home WITH my 2 year old. Thanks for ruining the party Simply Cakelicious - Bakeries Near Me - Waldorf, Maryland

My one and only experience with Simply Cakelicious was absolutely horrible and definitely put a shadow over my daughter's 8th birthday party. I ordered 12 cupcakes, 24 cake pops, and a 4" vanilla "cake" for a bowling party. I brought a picture with me to the shop showing what I wanted the cupcakes to look like. And it gave me a sense of security when Teri took a picture of my picture. What I got, was 12 pink swirly cupcakes that looked NOTHING like what I ordered; 24 vanilla cake pops that were entirely too sweet - even for 8 year olds; and a 4" CHOCOLATE "cake" for the birthday girl (who doesn't eat chocolate) with a droopy bowling pin and stars as decorations, which, AGAIN, looked nothing like what I ordered. Unfortunately, I picked up the order on the day of the party and had to make do with what I got, which was a batch of a combination of ugly, inedible and amateurish. And, to top it all off, I got to pay $85 for it all. Fantastic! I was so excited to go to Simply Cakelicious because of the Cake Wars factor and Teri's reputation as a talented fondant artist. To say that I'm disappointed is a monumental understatement. I won't ever go back. read more
