Ask for a donut and then the special, the person goes into the more expansive option ... buy a dozen get another dozen for a couple bucks more, and then pauses. Saying nothing, making you almost afraid to say "no, I want one donut not 24" (or 26) but whether you say yes or no, then they get to the real donut day special that's a little more reasonable. Unfortunately we made the mistake of going through the drive through for donuts on Sunday the 26th. First mistake was coming here, the second was DRIVE Through, the donuts we got had little or no jelly in them, the chocolate covered custard ones were tiny and we did not see them till we arrived home. They were 1/3 the size of the Jelly donuts with little or no jelly in them!!! When I called Grace " The Manager" she volunteered she did make those! This place is being run by young people who have no idea what they are doing.....we were told on Monday the owner or whoever has this location is seldom at the place....thus the horrible donuts.....first time we ever had such a bad experience with a Krispy Kreme product and it was our first time visiting this place. We were offered two more dozen donuts, I want my money back as I do not trust this place AT ALL! Go to Walmart in Laurel, they got some fantastic Custard Donuts. Please to all who read this, avoid this Krispy Kreme location. My feelings is this is a normal occurence when the owners or whoever has this franchise is not present to run the place! Drive thru order. 2 donuts and an Americano with a splash of cream and 2 splendas. Got 2 donuts, both wrong and an Americano with nothing in it. Burned my lip. Came back thru drive in, got 2 donuts, right this time, handed me a drink, took a sip, black coffee, no sugar no cream, burnt my mouth again. Third time, back in drive in, he says oh yeah, that's a black coffee, sorry, I said this was supposed to be an Americano with cream and Splenda. I wait again, he hands me one, I said what IS it, he tells me white sugar, I say no. he comes back tells me Splenda, cream Americano. I said great thanks. I get around the corner for the 3rd time, open it, it is ICE cold. I said oh, gosh! They probably spit in it too. I gave up and went without. You can see how lacking the doughnuts were and you would think the lack of attention to the doughnuts would allow time to clean the business. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! Not only is the wait exceptionally long but the drive from the Heights for a poorly advertised product makes this entire endeavor a slap in the face. My friend drove 45 minutes round trip, waited in line for only God knows how long and spent $60 on Valentine's Day donuts for her daughter's class only to arrive to her class with donuts that she couldn't have made WORSE if she'd tried to do them on her own. She could have gotten a way better at any grocery store but what makes it worse is little mom and pop shops, who take PRIDE in their product, have to work 10x harder to even stay in business when big business like Krispy Kreme come to town. On top of that this mogul decides it is acceptable to waste peoples time, effort and money by sending out a product like this in the HOPE that no one reviews it or posts their subpar performance for others to see. This is unacceptable and frankly it's insulting, I highly doubt she's the only one to receive such crummy treatment. All the lights were on as well as the "open" sign, and granted it was 9:01pm, but as soon as we pulled up to order, employees turned off all the light, inside n out. So we left and as we did, they turned the lights back on. I mean really. Before work one day, I decided to stop by Krispy Kreme to pick up some donuts because our team has been working super hard, almost non-stop doing our jobs and providing an outstanding customer experience. The team member taking my order was friendly and answered my questions. Upon pulling up to the window to pay, I was greeted by another team member who answered more of my questions and gave me my order. Four stars because the boxes of both dozens of donuts we're covered with the glaze from donuts which then got all over my hands and then all over my seats. We are from the Seattle area and have had Krispy Kreme Donuts before. They taste just as good as they did in Seattle. Really fresh and do all kinds of different donuts and flavors. Our Visit this time was a little rough as it was only the second day of being open and I think the staff is still trying to figure it all out. They didn't have many flavors . . . Not a clean table to sit at in sight...floors had napkins and trash while several employees stood around chatting. I had a little OCD panic attack this weekend taking my boys in for a fresh doughnut. First of all the worker in the back with the frosting & mix was wearing gloves but I literally watched him touch so many things while wearing the gloves, like a broom, pick something up off the floor, take a drink of his coffee then again touch the frosting and mix! Yuck. A gentleman who served us our doughnuts had a completely wet shirt, like he was washing dished then served us our doughnuts! Yuck. The lady at the cash register was wearing gloves but touching doughnuts, money, the cash register and her own coffee cup. Yuck. What is the point of wearing gloves!.
