The donuts are creative and visually appealing, with a variety of flavors that make it easy to want to try more than one. That said, they do lean pretty sweet, so it can feel like a lot, especially if you are ordering a full box. The donuts we had were good, but they did not taste as fresh as I would have expected, which took away a bit from the experience. They boast that their donuts are made fresh everyday, and they are run by 3 born and raised Montanans The interior is nice and bright, a little small, but the donuts and coffee are prepared to-go. The display case has beautifully decorated donuts, and it's honestly hard to choose which one you want (I got two) The person working was efficient. It was early and they weren't particularly friendly, but they were professional. Each donut was placed in a to-go plastic protective case, my coffee was made to-go, and I was offered a carrier and/or bag The coffee (latte) was mid at best, especially for other options in the area. And the donuts were a little too sweet for me. I also wanted the Homer donut to be strawberry, and it was cherry... an artificial taste I wouldn't usually gravitate towards. The employees seem indifferent and that doing such a labor intensive task, like taking your order, is an inconvenience. They get a bit 'extra' with the donuts.. "chef Chet has created a masterpiece and added Brussels sprout sprinkles, lemon frosting and a fish sauce glaze." They call it the Kuzu Krispy. Proof Donuts and Coffee is a new spot for morning munchies of the donut kind. Proof has self-proclaimed gourmet donuts, and if price is a factor in that assessment, then yes, they are. However, I will say that Proof does have uncommon flavor selections, with some that are more pastry than traditional donut and all a decent size. Once you pick one up, I think you'll find that it's the size of two ordinary donuts, but that's subjective because who knows the standard for normal, unless comparing it with the pre-boxed donuts in a grocery store. Proof donuts is in the same shop as Kal's Chicken Coop but is open in the morning before Kal's starts serving lunch and stays open until the donuts are gone. My guess, based on what I saw, is the donuts will sell out long before lunch. When you walk in, there's a menu board showing the prices for the donuts and the sizes of coffee. Right be the register where you order and pay, is a display case showing the available flavor choices that day. It's a rotating selection. I bought a half-dozen donuts to share with a group of friends, and after cutting them in half, was able to sample two. That's where the "meh" came in for me. The first was an ordinary donut with the glaze, and it was the hardened translucent sugar glaze that made that otherwise ordinary, unusual. Although it was good, I didn't think it was worth the price because nothing else made it stand out from any other frosted/glazed donut. The other choice I sampled was more a pastry. It had a sweet cream filling and blueberry topping that both just spilled out with every bite. The flavors exploded. That one was worth the price. To me these donuts were rich but not overly sweet. Proof is a splurge place, not a regular rotation spot. There's just something about paying that much for a donut and a small coffee that feels too decadent, at least to me. Oh, and I can't forget the coffee -- it wasn't ordinary coffee, and I'd probably come back here regularly just for that, but the temptation to get a side donut might be more than I would want to battle. Enjoyed breakfast at Proof Donuts this morning. My husband & I are visiting my parents so this was my first time eating here. We came for the beignets since I don't find many places that have them near me in Fl. Dad ordered a breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes & cinnamon toast, which he enjoyed. The rest of us each had a bowl of beignet, which came with six pillowy, soft, fried pieces sprinkled with lemon powdered sugar. We all enjoyed them & two people could share one order / bowl.
