IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!!WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! SO RUDE AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We used to go to Kreig's for all the birthdays in my family but NEVER AGAIN!!! For my 30th birthday and my dads birthday, my mom ordered two cakes. She ordered me custard which I don't like so I called back to change the order. I started asking the owner (with the accent) what kinds of cakes she had and she said chocolate and vanilla. I asked if she had any other flavors carrot or red velvet etc and she said "just chocolate and vanilla BYE"--she hung up on me. I called my mom to tell her what happened and asked if she was rude to the woman ok the phone at all she she said no not at all and couldn't believe she hung up on me like that and was so rude. So I called back thinking maybe there was a misunderstanding and was unsure if she cancelled both cake orders or what was going on. She wouldn't answer when I kept trying to call back. I eventually called back on restricted and she answered (she clearly wasn't picking up when she say me call back using the number she hung up on me on) and said I just called why did u hang up before? And she said "I'm not interested in your business bye." I called back several times to try and find out why she was so angry and being so mean when I was just trying to change the order and every time she kept saying I don't want your business or I'm not interested in your business and hanging up on me. I have no idea why she was so rude. I did nothing to provoke her reaction like this and I'm disgusted with how nasty she was to me for no reason. Was very upsetting to be treated that way after my family was loyal customers for YEARS. There are many other bakeries in the area that are just as good and will give you a good customer experience. So so disappointing to have been treated so poorly. DO NOT GO TO KREIG'S. And owner with the accent, I would LOVE to know what I did to you for you to treat me so unkindly. I walked in today to inquire about how to order a birthday cake for this weekend. Since there are no signs posted, or tags in the displays (or anywhere in the store). I had the following exchange with the woman behind the counter: me: Hello, if I want to get a birthday a cake for this weekend what are my options... Are these the only cakes I can choose from? ( I saw a 2 remaining cakes on display which were shriveled up and clearly the fruit was badly oxidized and browned) Or do I have to choose what was made? Her (very pissed off shouting): They are only displays!!! you can call ahead.We make by hand! Me: how far in advance do I need to order? Her(rolling her eyes): 24 hours Me: I dont see a list of what kind of cakes you make anywhere, can I see a menu or do you have a website? Her (even more exasperated): you call and tell what you want and how many people!!! Me: can you guide me on what you make? for example is this one with the strawberries a strawberry shortcake and how many people does it serve? Her (now really irritated with me) I dont have time for websites! you ask too many questions and handed me a pamphlet that have NO cakes listed on it just pies, bread, cookies etc.. I noticed her accent and as a fellow Brazilian I said I was Brazilian too (in the hopes to appease her) and said there was no need for her to get upset with me, I simply wanted to plan ahead and know the options of flavors they offer and how to order. she then, screaming at me said in Portuguese, that I was a pain in her ass asking a bunch of questions and that I was annoying.... hunh? a customer asking how to place an order is annoying? that about the worst customer service experience Ive ever had in my life. Shame on you for mistreating customer. I felt like I was an innocent bystander in a drive by shooting by a bi-polar psychotic. The danish, donuts, cookies, and bread in this place are absolutely amazing (as well as everything else). The owners can be extremely volatile (don't ask for boxes, or complain about anything, or touch too many things, or give them business advice, etc.). But they can be extremely nice if you hit the right buttons. I used to work there and they fired me for stealing. All lies. But I did love them while I worked there so Wally and Sonia, if you're reading this, you made a huge mistake. I don't really care anymore, but it was really terrible of you both to spread your lies about me to our customers. I still miss you guys and Mr. Krieg, but I don't miss Jacob, because I live with him ;) But anyway, the products are absolutely mouth-watering and more than make up for their attitude. Try the cheese danish or the German butter cake or pretty much anything in there. It's original stuff, but be careful. It can be addicting. The crumb danish is underestimated. I had a terrible experience. Was threaten by the owners daughter who gas s foul mouth caused a unnecessary problem to my elderly aunt. Nasty rude and scary to say the least. I am not shocked. The owner sends his wife who is nastier than the daughter to run the business. I would not recommend going there but it's going downhill anyway. Not as good as years back. Stale food and they're nasty at the counter. Not good for the community to have a bad reputation for customer service. Beware! There's so many complaints about this girl at counter she's dangerous. Look at all the reviews about her. She's crazy and I'd be nervous to go in there. Plus it's very dirty. She probably is on medication. Her mother seems to be disinterested in customer service. It's a shame such a good location using a nice German name run by a nasty foul mouth crazy ill mannered psycho. Go to another bakery or just boycott till the lose customers and new owners come. read more

NASTY NASTY NASTY OWNER!!! STAY AWAY! I had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience IN MY LIFE as I was attacked by the wife / owner just for wanting to place an order for donuts. She said they don't take orders because "I'm tired of you people placing orders and not picking them up!" (I never placed an order before!) and "I don't have time to take orders! I stand here all-day serving you people and you want me to take orders, too?!!!!" Oh, and then there was "You are very selfish!! Go get donuts somewhere else!" The donuts may not be better at Dunkin' Donuts but you can be sure the customer service is. The absolute WORST EXPERIENCE in my life. So much for trying to support small businesses. Perhaps she got too big for her britches and thinks she can treat everyone this way because they do so well, they don't need our business. Stay away. Stay FAR, FAR away. read more

The place doesn't look very inviting nor clean. Staff not so friendly and just weird. I highly doubt their sanitation compliance. I drove by there recently and saw a mouse scurry out of the establishment's side door. Plus the negative stories from different customers over the years are not worth it to to give them business. The place should just shut down, make room for a better bakery in Hampton Bays. I think you're better off at the local Panera Bread for now, better quality, cleanliness and great customer service. read more

Poor Krieg's bakery is a horrid experience due to his wife who's so rude to new and regular customers it's beyond understanding. Perhaps she's mentally ill (severely) but has no idea it effects the business. If the pastries were undeniable, maybe I'd keep going in but with that nasty attitude and rather mediocre baking, I no longer need to. I refuse to support a business with such b*tch behind the counter. There are better places in the vicinity. read more

The german butter cake is out of this world. Fresh baked bread and pastries. The lady who bakes always has a smile on her face so you know its gonna be good. The staff could be a bit more peppy but besides that this is an amazing bakery. Honestly most authentic delicious pastries and breads you can find on the east end. read more
