The old way

Used to be our favorite pizza in town, until today. Photos show the difference between a couple years ago and today. I have many photos of their pizzas which I would use to brag to my friends; until today. We usually get a half mushroom, half pepperoni and they have been divine. Until today. They switched from using thick pepperoni to skinny sticks, and only are using about 25% of what they used to. And the price is higher (which I would not care about if they didn't go so miserly on the pepperoni.) Probably will stop going there, after being a regular customer for about 2 decades. Extremely disappointed

Calamari

This place was recommended by a friend as a local place with home cooked - esque meals. I have to say that it did have a very comfort food vibe to it. The food is overall very gluttonous in a greasy way but on a freezing day, it hits the spot! Food: we ordered the white pizza, rice balls, calamari, and pasta. The white pizza was delicious and filled with ricotta which I love. The rice balls had beef in them, which was not specified in the menu. The pasta was very oily and could have used more salt but still good. Service: honestly not the best. They had confirmed the order and then told us they didn't have something we ordered. We did delivery and it took over an hour to get our food. Also they have us the wrong receipt and we're deceptive about prices

Half of an Italian Hero
Danielle P.

Ordered an Italian hero to-go and could not believe how huge this thing was. It legit took me three days to finish, it was that stacked with cold cuts, cheese, hot peppers and oil and vinegar. Scotto's itself is a small shop with a variety of sandwich, pizza and prepared food options. There's seating here if you'd rather stay and enjoy your food, but the bulk of their business seems to be to-go orders. I stopped in right before they were closing and was able to get my sandwich quickly made. Their freezer options of premade meals were also tempting - they have any kind of pasta you could possibly want along with Italian staples like chicken and eggplant parm ready to go -- all you have to do is stick them in the oven. The salad options (macaroni, potato, marinated mushrooms, etc.) were a little lacking in my opinion, but this could also be because I went at the end of the day. If you're ordering a sandwich from here, don't let the sticker shock deter you. Yes, this sandwich was $20 but again, it could feed three reasonably sized people.

Mozzarella custom sandwich

Stopped here for sandwiches shortly after arriving in Hampton Bays on the train. Only one block away from the train station, this deli was the most convenient lunch option on our way to the house we rented. I ordered three custom vegetarian sandwiches for about $16 per sandwich, each of which were large sandwiches. Service was friendly and quick. I noticed in their refrigerated section they had some ready to bake Italian dishes, which would be a very easy dinner if you were doing a house rental like I was.

My husbands breakfast sandwich was bland to say the least and you could see the bread they use is just Natures own. I thought I had read they had gluten free bagels but all they had was white bread. They did have a really good gluten free slice of crumb cake but it was $7 which is a bit insane. If you're coming for the attraction of Schmidt's I'd suggest not making the trip but if you're close by just use it as a grocery store stop but don't go out of your way.

They have a wide variety of pizza that I have never heard a bad thing about. Buy it bathe slice or whole. On the "deli" side--it seems to be an understatement because of the quality of the food--you will find traditional Hispanic dishes, great Italian cuisine and just about any sandwich you want. The sauce was actually quite tasty and cheese was fine. However, as a whole, I would consider their pizza just average. On the other hand, their chicken roll was not bad. I also ordered some Latino food to go from the deli side of the shop. The beef soup I heated up the next day was delicious. I would totally get it again. The kielbasa was thick cut and decent, but rice and beans were just okay. There are a few tables and seats in the shop, so large groups don't really work. All the staff members were relatively friendly.
