My family and I have been coming here for years and have always been loyal to Katrina's and chosen them over other local delis. Unfortunately this morning I ordered food and on my way there my tire popped and I was unable to get my food. Katrina's reached out a couple times and we returned their call a bit late, unfortunately I had other priorities (my tire) at the time and didn't immediately call them. The owner had absolutely no empathy for loyal customers who have given good business in the past and our situation, he asked what he should do with the food when we said we wouldn't be able to make it, and told us when we return he will charge us for the total of our order (2 platters - probably $45+). Between this and their outrageously high prices that we usually settle for over convenience and decent food, we will not be coming back here. They charged me $17 for a sloppy roast beef sandwich with 1/4 pound of meat on it. When I messaged their Facebook page, the owner affirmed that it looked like a good sandwich for $17. I had to stop and get another sandwich on the way to work because this wasn't enough food for the day. First let me start by saying that I was very surprised by the 2 1/2 star rating. I am a local and work at the beach. The staff at Katrinkas are very friendly, and the delivery to the beach is just awesome I have ordered 2xs already. The first time I ordered the bomb, which is an egg sandwich with double meat, egg etc and hash brown on top. Itv was amazing and hot when delivered. Today I ordered the Italian sub with the works, oil and vinegar, mayo etc. It is a beautiful sub, full of flavor. My mouth is watering as I write this. I found this spot after my partner and I were in fire Island and as we left we wanted a quick breakfast. Even though when we entered the place was pretty crowded for Sunday afternoon the food was how can I put this lightly horrible! The potatoes tasted like slop my eggs were burnt (who burns eggs!) and the whole meal pretty much was a thumbs down. The only highlight is that I was able to use their clean bathroom on the way back to the city. If I were you I would skip this spot if you're in the fire island area. read more

I rarely write any reviews but I was compelled to write one on the outrageous price increases at this deli. I had just recently ordered a ham, turkey & Swiss on rye. I was charge 18 plus dollars !! I questioned the girl behind the counter and I said that's a little excessive no? She just rolled her eyes and said "that's the price.... I know! I'm sorry". I've been patronizing this deli on a weekly basis for over 35 years but I don't like my intelligence being insulted with such outrageous pricing. I'm aware of food costs and inflation but this deli is way beyond reasonable increases. I no longer will patronize this deli and buy my sandwiches at KK for almost half the price and are just as good all made with Boar's Head meats. read more

I see why there's 1 star reviews about the staff. I called at 2:40, asking politely if they were still doing paninis. The woman on the phone, agitated, "If you hurry up!!!" I go "Excuse me?" and she hangs up the phone on me. I literally couldn't believe it. I call back and a man picks up. He says the kitchen closes in 15 minutes if I wanted the panini. I said that the customer service from her wasn't acceptable, and I didn't want the panini. I picked up from here a couple days ago too... Same woman. Terrible attitude. I have been a customer of Katrinka's deli for years now. Overall, I do think that this is the best deli for many miles. But today I ordered 2 "specials" sandwiches off the daily special menu. WOW! I had the "Montauk Fisherman" and it was probably the best Tuna salad sandwich I've ever had!! NOT an exaggeration! I bought my employee a " fresh mozzerella club" ... she absolutely RAVED about it... Mind you, this is during the corona virus scare, and the people working there were all kind and courteous. Food is mediocre. The lady Jaime? Jamie? Is an absolute beast. She is not pleasant at all. How she is allowed to represent the company is beyond me. What really killed me though, on my last visit the woman who normally makes the deliveries was straightening up the place and I saw her open the case for the drinks and literally take a napkin, wet it on her tongue and clean a spot on the shelf. HOLY CRAP. If you can see these things in plain sight, lord knows what goes on in the back. They are also very inconsistent in their food prep. If you get an egg platter one day you will get a huge portion of the home fries and the next day you will get a minuscule amount and they will be flavorless and crunchy.
