So, I've been curious about "Hot Pot" restaurants ever since I came across them on Yelp. Seafood and beef? Yes, I'm in! Sadly due to time allotment and plans for the day, I was unable to eat inside the restaurant and enjoy the act of communal cooking and eating. Alas, I decided takeout would suffice both my curiosity and appetite for the day. I had a friend joining me as well and trust me, the order was more than plenty for two. I opted for the "KPOT Everything Hot Pot" which includes both seafood and beef. They also have other "Hot Pot's" which are just strictly meat options, seafood options, and others as well. Please refer to KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot menu for those. First, you get your choice of base. Either white rice or a choice of noodles: - Vermicelli - Udon - Ramen - Sweet Potatoes Next is the soup base with choices of: - Thai Tom Yum - Szechuan Spicy - Tomato - Healthy Herbs - Miso - Korean Seafood - Mushroom Two choices of meat: - Sliced Chicken - Prime Brisket - Sliced Ribeye - Sliced Beef Belly We went with a ramen noodle base, szechuan spicy soup, and sliced ribeye with sliced brisket. This particular entree also comes with two unpeeled shrimp (head-off), two green mussels, and two calamari (all of which are in raw form). The soup base of Szechuan Spicy was by far my favorite! Found out that they sell that just as a soup alone, so I'll definitely be back just for that. Perfect amount of spice. Not tear jerking (my preference) but definitely enough you could feel it on your tongue and your companions that may like spice but not overly so, will not be disappointed. The ramen was typical of that type of noodle but cooked well. The one thing that was a little off-putting, was there really was no taste or texture difference in the sliced ribeye and prime brisket. Once the soup base was added though, it definitely at least gave both some much needed flavor. The seafood was typical of any seafood boil and definitely not a disappointment. There were a few random vegetables thrown in as well, but nothing noteworthy that I can actually write a statement about. Overall I was very pleased with this visit and definitely would order takeout again, though my real goal is to make it in there in person to enjoy all the many other offerings that they have listed on their menu (plus the act of actually cooking it;+) Yes, I absolutely recommend KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Layton and I suggest you give them a try too! read more

Love Kpot! I was excited for this location to open since it's closer to me. It has pretty much everything that the Taylorsville location does except for a few things. Wish they had the swai fish but there are lots of other options. The salad bar is set up a bit differently but mostly the same things. My kids love the ice cream options for dessert. I've been to this location a couple times now and Chris is by far our favorite server. He is super on top of refills, gets our dirty or unused dishes cleared quickly, and anything we need. First time we have gone to Kpot for my daughter's birthday and it was way better than I expected. The kitchen was sending out fresh food constantly for the buffet and the other stuff like the meat was fast to get also. Everything way extra clean and you can see into the kitchen area.
