It was early, around 4:00 p.m., and there were only two people dining inside. They agreed and eventually placed two tables together indoors. My thought was, why was this not offered from the beginning, especially given the heat and how empty the restaurant was? The ambiance was great, but unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was very skimpy, with only two thin slices of apple, two small orange slices, very little feta, and mostly lettuce. The chicken portion was extremely small and was served separately on a plate rather than sliced and placed on the salad as ordered. The other dishes were also small and underwhelming. The burger and fries were nothing special, and the spaghetti was plain and lacked flavor. If you are looking for great ambiance, this may be a nice place to visit. But if you are looking for great food, you may want to consider other options. For a great burger, I would recommend Buckhorn instead. It costs less and is much better.

Everyone was so helpful directing us, answering our questions and sharing about meal items and baked goods. The food was beat described as your favorite mom and pop spot with all scratch made foods, everything was a hearty portion and delicious. We had a double stack of huge pancakes, nothing special here but still good, a delicious egg scramble with fresh avocado, bacon, jack cheese, eggs, potatoes and toast 10/10. We will be back again to try other options including the baked goods.

My girlfriend and I came to Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters to celebrate our anniversary, and…read moreoverall we had a really nice experience! I ordered the prime rib, and WOW it was amazing! It was definitely on the thinner side compared to the prime rib I've had at other steakhouses, but the flavor absolutely made up for it. It was seasoned really well, flavorful, tender, and honestly one of the best-tasting prime ribs I've had in a while. My girlfriend ordered the rack of ribs, and she loved them! She said they had great flavor, were tender, and were cooked really well. We also shared a side of mushrooms, and those were SO yummy definitely a side I'd recommend adding to your meal. The restaurant is definitely on the expensive side, especially for a steakhouse, but for a special occasion like an anniversary, I'd say it's worth the splurge in the long run. Our waiter was also incredibly sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they even gave us a free dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch! As for the ambience, it's okay. It has that classic steakhouse/western feel, with deer and elk heads mounted on the walls basically staring you down while you eat . It definitely gives the restaurant a unique atmosphere, although it's not necessarily the type of ambience I'd come here for. Overall, we enjoyed our anniversary dinner and would definitely come back. The food, service, and special-occasion experience made it a memorable night!

Sorry I wish I had taken pictures of our food. Their Cubano sandwich was amazing. This was our first visit to Park Winters with friends and it was such a treat for us. We had just moved to Winters last year from Hawai'i and have heard so much about this location. When our friends suggested we go there I got so excited about it. The best part of the visit was a personal tour of the grounds at Park Winters from Rafael who is one of the owners. He has got to be one of the most humble and nicest people I have ever met since moving to California. There is so much to see and do if you decide to walk the grounds on your own. I love how they have repurposed some of their buildings with old doors, wooden fruit crates, window frames for picture frames, just so much creativity in this hidden gem of Winters. The owners really put a lot of thought into every detail of their gorgeous venue. Thank you Rafael for taking us on a tour of your beautiful property. You're an amazing host. I can't wait to return with my daughter.

Our kids had an amazing time and even got a special tour from the staff. Food was pretty good, the menu for brunch is rotational and overall we enjoyed the meal but it was not the high point of the visit. Several of us got the fried chicken and biscuit and it was good with honey but was hoping the fried chicken would have been more crispy. Fries were yummy and salad option was delightful. We sat near misters, which we would probably ask not to for our next visit - little too strong for our eating setup. Overall a beautiful spot and wonderful way to spend a weekend with the family. As far as our meal, we ate at the Italian restaurant. We started with the Blue Cheese Bruschetta, which was amazing! My entree was the country fried steak, with mashed potatoes and a house salad. The steak was so tender, no knife needed, and it and the potatoes were covered in delicious gravy! That being said though, the menu does not say that the gravy is full of mushrooms, so if you're not a mushroom fan, you may want to skip this dish. Service was decent but they were decidedly busier than they've been in the past. Ambiance felt like we were at...Cattlemen's. More of a sit down and enjoy yourself thing than Buckhorn with an older wooden feel to it. For kicks I started off with a Howdy Beer. Not sure who makes it, how epic it is or is not, nor any subtle notes of anything. It's a $4 can and it came with a nice cold glass. Potato skins, filled with the usual not-healthy-but-delicious goodness of bacon, cheese and green onions were perfect to start out. My Rodeo Burger was just as you'd expect from a steakhouse- wonderful beefy flavor with a rougher (larger?) texture than usual. So not like your average burger. Came with fried onions and sautéed mushrooms but we ordered a different burger (classic) so I put those onions on as well. Swiss cheese and peppercorn sauce made a great bite. Came with a load of fries and we subbed a salad for one of the orders. Didn't have any of the Raspberry Lemon Drop but heard no complaints about it either. They provided us with a supplementary gluten free menu so that was helpful. It's the place right off the freeway when heading to Sac/Tahoe from the bay and it's worth a stop. Have to be sure to use it in the next 11 months) Left full with TONS of food to take home for a grand total of $49.93. They let it slide so a decent tip was left for our server.
