Kosher Bagel Hole is simply the best bagel store in the Midwood / Flatbush area. Their breakfast specials are really good and the best part is that they are not cheap. They have always given me a very good amount of food whether I order from the specials menu or not. The food is always fresh, the workers are fast and always remember what I order. Not that I expect any store I walk into to remember anything about me but It really is a plus since I actually do eat by them every day I go to work. This shows that the workers do make an effort to remember people's orders and which customer doesn't like that? The store has many more things besides bagels such as salads, wraps, blintzes etc and of course they do not let you down on the coffee. They have different options to choose from like French vanilla, hazelnut, decaf and also dairy and non dairy creamers.

Local neighborhood bodega or Modega as it's called is always reliable and a community staple. The…read morefamily who works here are always so so friendly too. I will get the occasional breakfast sandwich (like an egg and cheese or bec), or a turkey/cheese sandwich for lunch or dinner. Otherwise, they have a pretty good menu of other types of sandwiches. Depending on who is making the sandwich, it will vary. Definitely a safe bet either way. They also have your usual snacks like potato chips, sodas, beers, and what not. I've been here a number of times because I'll be in the neighborhood. This is definitely one of my favorite bodegas around. My favorite part being how personable and friendly the family who runs it. They've now become a familiar face. Overall, a recommend for if you happen to be passing by. It's conveniently located by the F/G subway stop, so it's hard to miss.

Was in the area and looking for a quick sandwich option…read more Came into Albemarle and they seemed like they had a variety of options (breakfast sandwiches, rolls/hero's etc). I chose to go with the JJ Sandwich (breaded chicken, mozzarella, jalapeños etc). I get to the cash register and a woman rings me up and mumbles something in another language to the man who's preparing the food she then proceeds to add a dollar onto my order and doesn't tell me why. Upon opening the sandwich, the chicken cutlet is soggy and seems like it was made days ago. Not sure if there other sandwiches are better but this sandwich for $13.50 was extremely underwhelming. I could've gotten a lunch special at a Thai restaurant down the street for cheaper and better food.

I finally made it here for lunch and wow I was impressed!…read more They have a Mediterranean influenced menu and we ordered a few items which we loved. I ordered the chicken schwarma plate and falafel salad which were excellent - the fries were terrific and the overall atmosphere was to die for - it's a nice cozy space and the service was excellent The owner cares deeply about serving quality food at a reasonable price - they make challah bread over the weekends which sells out fast Definitely try this place you won't be disappointed

I was craving falafel and this is one of the few places that popped up in the neighborhood…read more I ordered a falafel sandwich and it was fresh and flavorful. I would definitely order again. Israeli style with pickles, which I love. The chickpea soup was a standout. So flavorful and nourishing; definitely a nod to the sopa de garbanzos that I grew up with. The generous portion of labane is rich and complimented by herbs and an excellent olive oil. But it only comes with one pita! Personally, I'd prefer a smaller portion with more bread. Ok, first, let's be accurate about a few things. Etymologically, "batata" comes from the Spanish for "potato." This is a nod to "Sephardic" Jews, from the Hebrew word for the Iberian Peninsula (by definition, Spain and Portugal; after "expulsion," this came to include a diaspora more broadly northern African. In order words, western and southern European, not Eastern like Ashkenazi Jews.)

I really thought I had reviewed Ba Xuyen before. I first ate here pre-pandy and it never occurred…read moreto me that I hadn't chimed in about this awesome spot. Well, let's clear that up now. The aunties are mentioned often in other reviews, and that's because they're amazing. They'll gladly explain what you need, especially when it comes to the super tasty (and extremely inexpensive) deserts that populate racks and the drink fridges here. Some are sweet, some are sour (the deserts, that is), they'll let you know. Honesty since a cake here is $5, you can afford to try everything! How on to the main reason that you came, the Banh Mi. You literally can't go wrong with any of the eight main sandwiches here. I've tried them all so you don't have to, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. The bread is crispy, the ingredients are super fresh, and the tastes combine perfectly. The decor is perfect for this kind of spot. No frills. There are three tables and a bunch of chairs. It's exactly what I want in a takeout type place. They concentrate on the food. So, to wrap this one up. Go. I'd say that I'll be back, but I've been coming here for years. If you haven't, it's time to start.
