I got a haircut with Maria and had a really great experience. This haircut was loooong overdue, but Maria was exactly on point with what I wanted, and my hair feels immensely better now. She was also such a pleasant person and was very kind and helped me feel a lot more confidence in my hair. I would recommend her and the salon without any hesitation. read more

Highly recommend! I've been going here since they opened and even before that with Maria and Ana at their past place of business. You can trust your precious locks with these two or any one of the stylists who work at Kosa! read more

I was visiting my daughters and was in need of a haircut. This place was close to my daughters' house and I saw that the salon received good reviews so I decided to try it out. I was very pleased with my haircut. Maria was excellent, very friendly and nice. I just love the haircut and like it probably more than the place I've been going to for over 35 years back home in Michigan. I will definitely be back for a cut when I'm in the area visiting my daughters. read more

When I went in, my hair was a mess. When I came out, it looked marvelous. I had a new cut and a full set of highlights. Although I had trouble explaining the look I wanted, they figured it out and executed it beautifully. The staff are pleasant, professional, and worked smoothly together. All in all, a wonderful team. And they're friendly, too. I will be back! read more

Kosa is a very convenient salon, they truly accommodate scheduling appointments and always put the customer's needs first. You will never feel like you are being rushed in or out. The service is top-tier every single time! Anna is truly a fantastic colorist. Maria and Amy are some of the best stylists I have had. Just complete rockstars! The salon is very clean and well-kept too. There is always available parking on the street, and they always maintain reasonably priced services. What else can I say? Just an overall pleasant experience from the moment you walk through the door until the moment you walk out of the door to leave! I highly recommend this salon it is one of the best! read more

Amy is amazing and I can't recommend her enough. This was our first visit to Kosa, we went for my daughter's (12) hair cut. She has thick curly hair and Amy did an excellent job with the cut and also recommended products. My daughter was thrilled and we are going back again in 2 months. read more

Update....I had a photo shoot for some marketing and social media content I needed to make. I messaged Amy to see if she could accommodate the schedule and she made sure she was available. She nailed it!! Photos and video came out amazing and we even included her and Kosa in some of our content. She will 100% be my go to for whenever I need a blowout. read more

Kosa Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Bianca did my hair and she did an ahhh-mazing job! She gave me a trim, glazed, and styled it so beautifully! The length is perfect, all I wanted was to cut off the dead hair and she styled it just to my liking with the layers. I already loved the color I had when I walked in and she just enhanced it by glazing it. If ever you have a hair vision Bianca can fulfill that vision way and beyond. The hospitality is there, the moment I walked in through the door they asked what I would like to drink and conversations with the other stylists are good too. It's conveniently located by the brown line stop too and parking is easy and plenty, I went midday. read more

Absolutely Adore this place!!! The ladies and gents are amazing- very friendly, funny and get my hair right every time, I don't really like when people play with my hair but if I do this is the place to go- it's like they have magic hidden somewhere in the back, the cut and blow dry are to die for and the location is awesome, they're never too busy and unlike other salons they take they're time on you and make sure that they do there best regardless if they're in a rush !!! I definitely record this place to anyone especially those that aren't happy with their current salon- Amy cuts my hair and I can vouche she has the touch my hair is healthy and growing supper long I haven't been in love with my hair for years until she came along!! Amazing team kosa keep up the amazing work! read more

Maria gives the best cuts and is very creative. She's helped me through all the awkward phases of growing out my hair following chemo and showed me ways to work with an annoying cowlick. I appreciate her willingness to trim my bangs between cuts. Very reasonably priced and so fun to chat with. Ana is the absolute best with color. I get so many compliments on how shiny and rich my hair looks. Ana did a miraculous rescue job on my sister after she decided to color her hair with henna during the COVID lockdown. She's an absolute artist and magician. I recommend both highly. Such a cute salon. Easy access off the brown line stop. read more

Love Kosa and stylist Maria! She does a great job of understanding what you want and advising on what would look best for you. I've had many haircuts in the city and they weren't half as good as Maria (despite being the same cost or more). read more

Maria is the best! I've loved every cut I've gotten here and always enjoy catching up with her. A great salon in an ideal location - near the L, with plenty of street parking available also. So happy I've found a five-star salon in the neighborhood. read more

I have been coming here since they opened (almost 10 years) and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have such amazing services and the most amazing people. I not only look forward to coming because my hair looks great when I walk out but also because I get to see the 3 lovely ladies running the business. Don't walk, run to Kosa salon. You will not be dissapointed. read more

I've been going to Kosa for several years, and will continue to do so. Ana does a great job with my single process color, and listens to what you're trying to accomplish. I was having trouble finding a stylist that was really good at technically cutting my hair, and I found the perfect person in Amy. She really knows what to do with my textured hair whether I want to grow it out or cut it in a cute pixie. For the River North neighborhood, their prices are quite reasonable. If you're looking for a salon, I would definitely give this small, homey, friendly salon a try! read more

Best experience ever!!! Maria is such a PROFESSIONAL and also a beautiful, positive, kind and just an AMAZING woman I did Keratin treatment and was EXTREMELY satisfied. Also, Kosa salon has the BEST price among all others in Chicago! Definitely would do every kind of hair care in Kosa‍ read more

I recently moved to Chicago and after all the great reviews about Ana I tried to give this place a chance. I'm honestly surprised at all the glowing reviews. Don't get me wrong they are great people, but I go to a salon to get what I pay for, and I didn't get what I paid for. I just got home from the salon and when I saw my hair--I burst into tears and have been crying since. I had a full blown ombré before (which I didn't really care for) I wanted it a little more subtle and gradual and sliiiiightly darken it for the fall, but still have the hair go lighter top-down. So basically the end result should have been balayage style highlights/sombré (:sombré = subtle ombré). So I said I just wanted to "break up the blonde a little." Key here - a little. Anyway, I even brought in a picture of what I wanted and somehow I walked out with dark brown hair (darker & warmer than my natural hair-which is more of a lighter ashy brown-think "hazelnut") with some random blonde highlights (in some sections streaks) left here and there. She left the bottom untouched entirely so now I've got sections of my old hair/blonde peaking through unevenly at random-it seriously looks like I made a wig of multiple people's hair. The right side is lighter than the left too. Basically it's all uneven, there is NO rhyme or reason here. Instead of weaving through my hair so it's well-blended, she just colored entire sections so now I've got 2003 skunk hair. I've posted a picture of my hair before, the example pic I brought in with me, and what I walked out with so you can see for yourself. To me it's not even in the same ballpark. I'm sure she's fine for simple, straight-forward processes like all-over color-but for anything more complicated please don't go here. Most concerningly (I know that's not a real world), the brown was pre-mixed before I even got there, which I guess should have been enough of a red flag to me, that someone wouldn't bother matching the color to your actual hair, but rather a colorist who apparently thinks that all Browns are created equal. The search continues. tl;dr: I came in for a slight change, and walked out with a $130 nervous breakdown. read more

See all

I went here with a Gilt City deal for two blowouts, and wasn't sure what to expect. After having my hair done with Phillip, I was very impressed! The salon is on the smaller side but nice and clean and the staff is friendly. Phillip made sure to go over with me exactly how I imagined my blowouts and to be honest, they came out even better than I imagined. He really knows what he is doing and does great styles both straight and curly. The blowouts are a bit pricey ($50), so if they had another deal I would certainly come back for another :) One note about actually getting to the salon: you enter through a big black door on Hubbard and take the elevator up to the second floor, where you then walk down the hall to the right until you see the salon. It was a bit confusing to find my first time so hopefully this will help out new customers. read more

I have been going to Kosa Salon for the past year, seeing Maria. She does an excellent job cutting and styling my long, heavy hair! You can't beat the location. The salon itself is well maintained and the staff is wonderful - plus they use and carry Moroccan Oil and Living Proof products! Love their easy online booking system! read more

I have been going to Kosa Salon since the Hubbard location. All three stylist do a fabulous and meticulous job. I have extremely thick, coarse hair and all stylist are able to blowout my hair and make it look silky smooth. The new location is bigger and easier to find parking nearby. I am always greeted nicely and offered a beverage. Kosa Salon also will offer Gilt City vouchers, so look out for those. Enjoy! read more

I couldn't be happier with the color and the cut... Ana, Emina, and Maria will listen to you and give you exactly what you want. I usually know what I want but this last time, I was completely undecided. I wanted change but I couldn't decide what kind of change. After a lengthy consultation, I went with their recommendation and couldn't be happier! They know me better than I know myself. I live in the western suburbs so it's not a quick drive but it's certainly worth it every single time. read more

Kosa Salon is amazing. I had the pleasure of working with Amy. I went in as a first timer with little expectation and walked out feeling 100% satisfied. Amy took the time to understand exactly what I wanted out of my cut and even suggested we review a couple pictures. When my cut was all said and done she taught me what products to use/how to style my hair at home to get that "salon look". I recommend Kosa to anyone looking for a new permanent stylist. read more

After getting a realy bad haircut at Mario Tricocci at Woodfield Mall location I was in need for a good hairstylist to save my hair. The girl at Tricocci chopped about 4 inches of my hair , but there was no style whatsoever. Being so disapointed and unhapy with my haircut, I was shopping around for a reputable place. I heard about this new salon Kosa and made an appointment with recommended hairstylist Amy. She was a sweetheart from the get-go. Made an appointment, suuuuch a professionalist . Made me feel comfortable, told me not to worry and after a consultation she explained what she will do with my new haircut. All I got to say is I loved the results!!! I have the layers that I wanted, she did much better than I expected. 2 weeks later I took my daughter for a haircut and she is rocking her bangs.
