I've been going to this place for 40 years, and while there's less hair to cut now, I get nothing but really nice compliments every time I get my hair cut by Kim. She is friendly, personable and very talented. She'll even throw in a beard trim if you ask nicely. That trip up to the second floor will be well worth it! read more

Madison Hair Styling - What a great place to go for all your grooming needs - Hair Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I live in the Gold Coast area and have been to many so called "high end" salons for haircuts. Grew tired of high end prices, with, more often than not, mediocre results. I just started working around the corner from Madison Hair Styling, so took a leap of faith and booked an appointment with Lupe after work yesterday. I think my only directive to her was "choppy pixie cut." Long story short, Lupe was very intuitive about what I wanted and I walked out with one of the best cuts I've gotten in recent memory at a very reasonable price. My leap of faith paid off for once, and I can't recommend Lupe (or the salon) highly enough. read more

Got in this week to clean up for return to my office, and trim down to let me head breathe in the humid summer. Lupe is skilled, quick, and friendly! read more

Lupe was amazing! She squeezed me in her schedule so I could come by on my lunch and I was a little worried going to a new place but she gave me exactly what I was looking for! Definitely would recommend and for sure coming back! read more

A wonderful place! Kim and her staff are excellent. My hair looks amazing every time I leave and stays that way until shortly before I need to go back :) Thanks Kim! I will always be your customer unless I am forced to leave Chicago for some odd reason! read more

I went here based completely off online reviews as I'm temping in the area and I am beyond pleased with my cut by Tanya. She was detailed, patient and her 21 years of cutting hair showed in her speedy meticulous skill and attention to detail, all scissor cut mind you. On my thin blond hair. I'm definitely coming back even from Uptown. Affordable too. See for yourself! read more

Always a great experience! The ladies here do an amazing job and the courtesy is unmatchable!

While my stylist got me in and out in under an hour I am giving her a two because when I arrived I asked for a trim and to thin out the bottom because my hair is very thick.... she offered layers and I said no but she claimed it would fall nicer than thinning it out with sheers. I said fine but was hesitant. Sure enough it's two weeks later and I'm looking for a place to cut my hair again bc the bottom is too thick and looks awful. Please remember the customer is right 90% of the time. She also tried to upsell me a hair straightener. Sadly won't be going back.... read more

I absolutely adore Victoria. I have never received such an excellent series of haircuts. No reason for me to go elsewhere, and she's a sweet person. Otherwise...it's a very professional place, with a friendly atmosphere and many things to offer. Only drawback are the hours, but that's not that big of a deal. read more

I have been coming here once a week or so for 15 years now - just to see Gina. I will not get my nails done anywhere else; if she is out of town, I will just wait! Gina gives high-quality, long lasting manis & pedis. She has a wide selection of colors, all from the top brands. Lately, I have been going the no-chip route, which means my manis last two weeks and my pedis about a month! Saves me a lot of time. Aside from that, Gina is an extremely nice person and I consider her a good friend after all these years of working together! She even travels to my home if family or friends are in town (many of them request Gina when they come to town) and has done nails for my daughter's birthday parties as well. Location is extremely convenient and prices are very reasonable. I cannot recommend Gina highly enough! Gina is a gem! read more

I've been getting my nails done for years with Gina. I started out with just regular nail polish but now always get the no chip. My nails always look fabulous and I receive many compliments. Sometimes the nail polish lasts three weeks. She has a wide selection of colors and always has the most recent trendy color. It's fun. Gina is always accommodating and also does my lip wax and dyes my eyebrows when necessary. She is a professional. I highly recommend Gina. read more

I saw Tanya today. I am fearful of going to get my haircut, but I am so happy I came here and will definitely come back to see her. She cut it exactly how I wanted, gave me real advice, and was very nice. I feel so much better about my hair!! read more

Great service, great price, great cuts. Kim does an awesome job. Very consistent. You can even get your shoes shined while you are at it! read more

Tanya is seriously awesome with her hands. I have long hair and every time I wanted a trim other stylists usually cut off several inches and leave me upset. I told her ONCE i want to trim off the dead and leave my length I have never been happier with anyone about my hair I even went to her the day before my wedding because I was confident in her work. Seriously high recommendations for Tanya. read more

Kim and her staff are great, no nonsense pros who both are nice and do a great job for a professional downtown on a schedule.

Went in for a no chip manicure and I was not pleased! The lady who does nails (only one person who does nails) was a hot mess, so unorganized and didn't seem to know what she was doing. My nails looked horrible and sloppy. My nail polish chipped within 2 days and I can literally strip the polish off my nails. That should not happen with a no chip manicure. I've gotten many of these manicures done and have lasted me for 3-4 weeks with no chips or looking dull! Never again!!! read more

So pleased with this salon! Tanya is absolutely wonderful. I tell her what I want and she makes it happen. She is extremely accommodating and available on Mondays. Will definitely be going back to her! read more

Terri is amazing! I went in there for my first time today. I've been concerned about my thinning hair and she restored my faith in growing it back with product recommendations, styling techniques and hair care routines. So personable and easy to get along with. She felt like a friend who has been doing my hair forever. Definitely found my hair lady! read more

I've recently started coming to this place after I moved downtown and I'm pleased to say it's the best haircut I've ever got! Vicki cuts my hair and does an excellent job every time. Her consistency is the reason I come back because I have not once been disappointed. Not only does she give great haircuts, she is also a very sweet and likable person. I highly recommend Vicki if you're looking for someone who actually cares about giving you the best possible haircut! read more

I got a wash and haircut from Trish last week and I gotta say, this is one of the better haircuts that I can remember getting. Just about every haircut looks good when you walk out of the shop, but over a week later and it's still in great shape. Friendly place and I'll be back. read more

When I worked downtown, I would see Kim regularly. I had never received so many compliments on my haircuts until I went here. Though I live in the western burbs now, I still come back here for my quality cut! She is amazing. read more

I have been with Vickie for several years and I would never use anyone else. Great personality and consistently outstanding haircuts.

By the time I got back for a 2nd visit, my hair was overgrown and scraggly again and I mostly wore it back or up in a bun. I anticipated the same great results but this time, instead of following the same instructions "I am growing out all these old layers to one length, please trim as little as needed to keep it professional looking and I don't really have time or skill for a fussy cut". This time I heard her making tiny tiny cuts and snippets which I didn't recall from last time (was turned away from mirror). Instead of trimming across, she had cut my hair vertically to merge the layers. Sounds good right? wrong. First, it sets me back months and months - the layers were 3-4 inches apart; on my goal of growing them out. I Second, it did nothing for my fine but frizzy hair - my hair now pops out where she did the "blending" and its impossible to blend this middle layer into the rest so my hair looks shapeless and I have to spend way too much time fussing with barrettes, products, etc. Third, this makes the hair look unkempt and untended....After I stressed I wanted an easy care look. I am still running around with a granny bun - I should have kept the money and saved the time and not bothered. Not saying she doesn't have skill in cutting, after all the first cut was great - but communication (what I asked for, telling me what she was doing before hand) needs work. read more

I just moved to Chicago and was looking for a decent salon that I could afford. I got the choppiest layers I've seen in years. I have to pay another $70 at another salon to get it fixed. When I was looking for nice but affordable, I was not expecting less-than-okay service or to spend over $120 on my hair. Ladies, don't waste your time or money. It advertises both men and women's cuts but I walked into an all men's barber shop. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. read more
