Firstly, scheduling with her is super easy - I DM'd her on Instagram (where she often posts pictures of her work) and we were able to figure out a time that worked for both of us, esp during the holidays when we were both extremely busy. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she was upfront about the plausibility of it. Since my hair hasn't been dyed in over 2 years, it's pretty dark and I wasn't going to be able to get it to the ashy color I wanted. That said, she still tried to do something similar style and I love it all the same! She even gave me options once we saw what the lifted color (after foil and all) looked like and made adjustments accordingly, which ended up taking more time. However, she was still happy to spend the time to make it how I wanted it, so I really appreciate that. Lastly, I gave her really little direction on how I wanted my hair cut, but I did know I wanted to shed a fair amount of inches. With such little direction, she did what she thought would look great and it's the best haircut I've gotten in a while. I keep getting compliments on it! I live in LA, but go to Chicago frequently, so all in all, I'm willing to wait for the times I visit to get my hair done by Jackie!

My natural hair color is dark so getting my freshly bleached roots toned to match the rest of my hair is hard and Jackie DID THAT! Unfortunately I moved out of Chicago so I don't see her anymore, and it's honestly one of the things I miss most about living there!

I stumbled upon Reflektion on Yelp and decided to give it a try, as it was remotely close to home, easily accessible via transit options, and had a lot of good shops I like close by! Booking at the salon as a first time client was super easy. I filled out a form and was contact via text. The scheduling staff was very helpful. Since then, I've booked appointments at the front desk when I'm in the salon on my way out -- also seamless! The salon itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. All of the products they use smell great and are good for you. The bathroom is especially cute, as pictured in the photos I have quickly snapped after a my last two cuts. I got matched with Reyna who is a gem. She really takes the time to listen to what I want out of my hair cuts and maintenance in between. Reyna is so fun to talk to and I have greatly appreciated her recommendations (K18, in particular) to help improve my hair health. She was not pushy at all when it came to purchasing the product at the salon, which I also appreciated! My hair has been exactly what I wanted each time I've gotten it cut. I look forward to coming in every few months & will continue to see Reyna, although I'm sure the other stylists are just as talented and kind!

It was an awful experience…read more It started out nice but it took a long time for processing and waiting for Lindsey to juggle another customer. I was on time but waited 20 min or more to start my service. Upon applying the color, Lindsey kept reemphasizing that she had to charge more for length even though she didn't even come close to using all the color in the bowl. She put only 10 strands and I thought it would be more. I showed a picture of what I was trying to achieve and the result was a very warm color. I was hoping for the blond to be cool. When drying my hair, I didn't see much of a difference. She asked how I liked it and I said it was ok. She scoffed at me and said only okay? I know she realized that she said something she shouldn't have because she hustled me out of there and didn't ask for the extra fee for the color. I gave her the cash I had on hand which covered a portion of the fee she was trying to charge. I've never been treated so disrespectful as a customer. I wrote a review on Groupon and looked for it again about a month later and found that it was taken off. I will find other means of feedback and let you know that I was no way disrespectful in sharing my experience. Thanks!

She is an absolute joy to work with and she truly listened to my concerns and gave me an outstanding cut. I love how it turned out and she was so pleasant to sit in a chair and chat with for an hour. The salon is really clean and bright, and everyone I encountered was friendly. I'll definitely be back to Abby, she was such a gem and I am so pleased with how my hair turned out.

Now I have to go somewhere else to get a proper layered haircut. Honestly, I was never all that impressed with this salon to begin with, and now I understand why. The staff isn't very friendly, especially the front desk receptionist and Pam (the owner) tends to stay in the back, avoiding customers at all costs.
