I love a good bingsu, but this was not it for me. We ordered the mango sticky ice, and it was overpoweringly sweet even without adding all the condensed milk. The ice was nice and fine, though - I'll give them that. If you want a good frozen ice treat in Sawtelle, go to Brian's just a couple doors down. If you want an excellent bingsu, go to Sul & Beans in K-town. You order at a kiosk and it doesn't take long for your bingsu to be prepared. It's a fairly small shop with limited indoor and official outdoor seating, but there's plenty of unofficial outdoor seating nearby (just avoid the tables that are marked for a different restaurant). Will be interesting to see how long this place lasts - the location seems to be cursed. I feel like other better drink places have not survived here long, but so far Korean Ice Co seems to be drawing a pretty consistent crowd.

We came to Sawtelle Japantown on a quest for bingsu -- a milk-based Korean shaved ice dessert -- and we found it here at Korean Ice Co. This is a small bingsu shop with LA Dodger-themed interior. The menu is smaller than most other bingsu shops we frequent, and prices are higher. The offerings include traditional and other bingsu combinations. Our selections were Mango Sticky Ice (3/5), Cookies N Cream (3/5), and Ingesini Red Bean (4/5) -- a milky, traditional Korean bingsu made with a milk base, roasted soybean powder, and sweet red beans. You order at a kiosk, and you receive a text when your order is ready. Pick up at the counter. There are a half dozen or so indoor tables and a few outdoor ones. Tables are not cleaned between customers.
Came here the day after dining at Mulberry up the street, where they had a strawberry bingsu dessert (which we didn't order) that was in collaboration with Korean Ice Co. It's in the shopping centre on the NW corner of Olympic and Sawtelle, across the street from the 3-story mini-mall. Apparently several businesses occupied this spot in the past. The font on their signage is probably called Dodger Blue. Bingsu is the Korean milk-based shaved ice dessert, like shaved ice cream. The spot is small with some seating indoors and out. You order at a kiosk, then get a text when your order's ready. They also call your name. I got the mango sticky rice flavour. They have about 8 choices, plus options for toppings, mochi, etc. My order came with pieces of mango, half a strawberry, a sprinkling of black sesame seeds and a side container of condensed milk. It looked like all the fruit flavours come with pieces of fruit; the melon one looked delish. As was my mango one. I think I prefer shave ice with some dairy in it! A great sweet treat on this hot and humid day.
Love this bingsu spot! They have fun flavor options and orders come out pretty fast despite how busy it gets. The servings are also big so a regular size can definitely be shared. The injeolmi red bean flavor was great, the ice was a perfect texture, and the sweet condensed milk made the whole thing really come together- it satisfied my sweet tooth and is the perfect thing to have on a hot day!

You order on their screen, which has a several different flavors like Melon Ahh, Mango Sticky Ice and Injeolmi Red Bean. They were out of the mango, so I quickly chose strawberry and waited for my order. The shop is quite small and has a handful of spots to sit inside and a couple of tables outside. My portion of strawberry bingsu was not quite as generous as others and came topped with crushed graham crackers and a half a strawberry with a side of watery condensed milk. Compared to Oakobing or Sul and Beans, this was pretty basic, lacking the more elaborate presentation and layers. Plus at $9.99 for an individually-sized cup, it was pretty pricey. Since all the places to sit were occupied, I ate it on the way back to the car. The shaved milk flakes were light and delicate and I had finished by the time I got to the car. I've seen quite a few businesses try and fail in this spot. There's a lot of competition for desserts and boba on Sawtelle, so it will be interesting to see how Korean Ice Co. fares.
We were looking for some shaved ice after dinner and Korean Ice Co was perfect. It's located in a plaza with parking on the edge of Sawtelle, so that's convenient. Your first half hour is free with validation with each half hour being $5 thereafter. The space was quite busy when we arrived, but we were able to order at the kiosk and find a table outside. Between 5 people, we ordered two regular size bingsoo (~$11 each). We got to try the Mango and Cereal Milk flavors; both of which were topped with a strawberry. The presentation was so nice and the texture was even better. The ice just melted in your mouth and the flavors were on point. The only thing is that the condensed milk they give you is not as creamy and sweet, which almost seemed like an evaporated milk. Such a great treat on a hot day or after a meal. There's a lot of fun flavors to try and the regular size is enough for 2-3 people.

The location is on the smaller side but there is inside stool seating along with a couple tables. There are also a couple outside tables. Overall I would return just to try the watermelon shave ice.
Very solid bingsu. Enjoyed the red bean with condensed milk. I think the best part is that the ice is shaved form actual blocks of snow ice. Not the instant made type served by many bingsu shops. Only complaint is the fee 30 min parking. If there is a line, there is no way you order, eat and split within that time frame.
First time visiting, Korean ice company in Sawtelle and it definitely lived up to the hype! The shave ice was light, fluffy, and refreshing. We enjoyed the toppings and different flavors. The shop was clean, small, inviting and a great place to cool off on a warm day. The watermelon, sticky rice and strawberry flavors were delicious! They have some tables available. Service was good, not too much interactions as you order via a kiosk. Definitely worth the try!
Got the large melona with friends and it was so tasty and perfect size to share. Tasted exactly like the melona icecream! Came out fast as well.
So nice to have bingsu in a prime spot in West LA! I believe it was $10.95 for a small which is a bit on the pricier side given it's $7.50 for a small at Oakobing. The small is a good size for two people to share. Cereal Milk was our choice and there were fruity pebbles in between the ice. Mochi and condensed milk (?) are served on the side. We not confident it is condensed milk since it was quite liquidity.
Good light dessert! Not super sweet but can easily hit any cravings you may have - and with cute presentation. Since the first time I went, they've added more seating which is great since there's not many places on Sawtelle you can just sit and enjoy a treat! Service was a little slow but the employees apologized and ultimately I understood it was a hot and busy day. Overall a good time and worth a visit!

saw this place was openly and got really excited to try it out, but was really sad to find out that they took over the sugarcane juice place. Regardless of the switch up, this place is a great addition to Sawtelle. The shaved ice here is the perfect amount of sweet and very flavorful tried out a small melon, flavored shaved ice added mochi on the side and it was a perfect sweet treat after dinner. The place doesn't have much seating inside one table for two and bar seating along in the window, but they did have a few seats outside which I believe is for the whole plaza. As there are many options on the street for dessert I would say that this is one of the more refreshing choices. I will be back to try other flavors because the quality of their shaved ice is very good. read more
I was excited to try this place and ultimately left disappointed. We got the mango sticky rice flavor and it oddly tasted like melon. The flavor reminded me of this melon popsicle that's popular in Japan, which I do not like. We barely got any mango flavor, which was odd because it's clearly an orange/yellow color of the mango. We also found it to be a little too sweet. And this was without putting on any of the condensed milk. With tax, the small was just over $11. The size is more than enough for 2 people. read more

I've never been a fan of shaved ice but this place has shown me that it's only because I've never had Korean shaved ice. This stuff is fantastic. The key is that they aren't shaving straight ice but in fact a creamy block that gives the whole dish a melt in your mouth, milky texture that is both flavorful and delicate. It's great. I've come a few times here since they're located around the corner from my office and I couldn't tell you which flavor is my favorite. The horchata taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the fruity pebbles tastes like...well...the breakfasts I grew up eating. The strawberry flavor is also perfectly creamy and sweet. I really don't think you can go wrong. You order yourself on a single screen (I think it would be better if they had a 2nd) and the employees do an amazing job of cranking orders out. Even if they're busy you won't have to wait long for your meal to come out. It really only took a couple bites to realize I am an instant fan of Korean Ice Co. I will absolutely be back again and again especially on warm summer days. It's a perfect delicious but not heavy treat to beat the Southern California heat. read more
Whoo hoo they brought back shaved ice @sawtelle! Was sad when blockheads was no more. Their ice is very finely shaven. Flavorwise I much preferred the mango over the melonah. The small is good to share between two. read more
Stopped by for a little sweet treat with my friends right before finals week! The interior was cute with 2 kiosks for ordering, but it's a little small with maybe 2-3 tables and a booth, but there's more seating outside. The staff were also super friendly. We got the Mango Sticky Rice in the smaller size, but there's also a larger size if sharing with more people. Note that they charge an extra $1 for mochi. It was super soft, refreshing, and the fruits were sweet and fresh. Really love how they have unique Korean flavors that you don't find at other places; I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors! read more
Awesome shaved ice place with delicious flavors! The shaved ice is great - it's not just regular shaved ice with syrups and flavors on it that you'd expect from a lot of other bingsu places, they actually have the flavors embedded into the ice and when they shave it down all they do is add a few toppings and that's it! Simple and effective. The melon-ahh is a good remake of the popular Melona bars. If you've had them growing up, you'll definitely feel the nostalgic hit. Service is average - you're ordering off of a menu and then someone calls you to pick up your order. Limited human interaction... that's a bonus for some and a con for others, so take of that what you will. The inside is small. I can't imagine more than two parties fitting inside at a time. But they're working with what they got. Some seats inside and some outside. Overall, good shaved ice, would come again. read more

Was so excited to hear that a bingsu spot opened in Sawtelle! You order at the kiosks and they'll call out your order when it's ready. They offer both single sizes or larger sizes and they have multiple flavors to pick from. They also have cute merch! We tried the mango sticky ice shaved ice which was super refreshing, but I felt like it could have been a bit milker/creamier. It comes with a side of mochi and I liked the addition of black sesame as a topping too! It's a small shop but there's both indoor and outdoor seating. Their spoons change color from white to blue which was actually soo cool! read more
I really wanted to love this place but it just cannot be compared to the golden standard, oakobing. I think the milkier flavors are better than the fruit ones. The horchata was probably the best flavor that I've tried so far. I thought the mango and strawberry ones were slightly icy? Service is very friendly and there are ample seats. I think I will keep trying the different flavors and report back. read more

We are so lucky to have quality bingsoo in Sawtelle now! Try to go during a less busy time as the space can be a bit tight, we managed to find a four-top outside! Our merry group ordered a large Injeolmi Red Bean Bingsoo which was plenty for 4 people. There was a good amount of toppings, which included the nutty injeolmi, sweet Red Bean, and little mochi. I did appreciate that the ice they used seemed to be flavored- one of my pet peeves is when you run out of toppings and all you are left with is bland soft ice. I definitely want to go back and try their mango sticky rice flavor! read more
Loveeee this new shaved ice spot in sawtelle!! The mango one is sooooo refreshing and delicious! Love the mochi in it as well. Also kinda fun with the color changing spoons haha they do have a small area for seatings but the area is always packed on the weekends. read more
Went here for dessert with family! Got the mango sticky rice and cookies n cream, both in single size which was enough for 4 people to share :) We also ordered a side of mochi (highly recommend, it was very soft)! There was also indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Mixed experiences. I've come here twice. The first time, I got the mango, and the second time, strawberry. Mango was much better than strawberry. I liked that they had real mango on the side, and some black sesame -- a wonderful touch! The description says that it comes with a strawberry, but more like a slice of strawberry. The second time, I was really disappointed with the strawberry. The ice was lackluster in flavor, graham cracker adds some crunch and texture, but I think that it needed some fresh strawberries or fruit. It came with a thin sliver of strawberry on top... and tasted moldy!? I still can't get the moldy, musty taste out of my mouth! Yuck!? Ok, I see why the mango is a fan favorite and the strawberry isn't. read more
I'm so glad I got to visit this place!! They're fairly new and in a prime location. Service was quick and easy and it's quite literally the perfect sweet treat. I ordered the mango sticky rice shaved ice with mochi on the side and loved it! It was the perfect amount of sweetness (esp with the condensed milk) and it was overall a super refreshing dessert. The product is simple and tastes great! Although it's more expensive than you might think. But overall a very good experience with fresh tasting ingredients. I love the texture of their shaved ice. Really sets the benchmark! We tried the mango and I really enjoyed it. Though the picture of the product on the ordering screen made it seem a lot bigger than when the product came out. Not a big deal but did make me do a double take at first. The large is more than enough for two people. read more
It's really (n)ICE to finally get a Korean bingsoo spot in West LA, but unfortunately, Korean Ice Co. is a bit of a miss for me. I was so excited to check this spot out after seeing it all over TikTok and passing by whenever I'm in Sawtelle, but initial impressions were a bit of a letdown considering the hype and long lines for this spot. We ordered the sticky rice mango and melon bingsoo, which were each priced at almost $10 for a single portion. While the prices were comparable to other spots I've had in Ktown, the quality was not - both the strawberries and mangoes were NOT fresh, and tasted like they had been frozen, which is unacceptable for the price point. I personally liked the melon flavor a lot more, especially since it tasted like melona popsicles and was very well infused into the ice, while the mango flavor needed a bit of help from the condensed milk. Overall, this spot holds promise for a bit of improvement in their quality control, but until then, I'd probably still choose to drive to Ktown if I'm craving bingsoo. read more
Newest dessert place on Sawtelle. We tried the cereal and mango bingsu and the consistency and flavor was more similar to Chinese shaved ice in that it was icy and not as creamy as other bingu places. Lots of seating inside and outside. read more

Nice staff and nice spot. I do wish they kept the out door seating cleaner. Looks like they haven't been cleaned in months. As for the ice it's pretty nice. It has a different ice layered/sheet texture. As for the flavor, I want the biggest fan of the strawberry, messing just not for me but I did find the addition of the crumbs and mochi to be nice! read more
