Shave ice cream was relay good I got the vanilla ice cream with pineapple ice.wife got the mango li hing Mui Cole was really nice and patient it was our first time here
Hawaiian-style shave ice is one of the only things I can't get in NYC, and I was excited to try this spot on a recent LA trip. A few friends and I shared a Rainbow with dole whip, and the Sunset beach with macadamia nut ice cream. I actually liked the dole whip and the ice cream more than the ice (flavors were a little artificial tasting), but overall this spot was good. Service was friendly. Get the dole whip soft serve!!
What We Ordered: -Rainbow Kiddie $5.50 -Sunset Beach Regular $6.75 My son wanted the Rainbow Shave Ice. I got him the Kiddie size, which was more than enough for a 5 yo. They offered to put condensed milk on top, which I said okay, but only a little because I didn't want it to be too sweet for him. After speaking with the staff, I was recomended the Sunset Beach and I got it in the regular size which was a good size for me. It was very delicious! It was good pick! I shared a bit with the wife as she doesn't normally like cold and sweet things, but she liked what she tried. The only problem is how fast the ice melts and it quickly turned to soup. It wasn't even that hot outside. I will have to circle back in the winter time when it's cooler outside and see how it is. We were told to wait a bit and let the syrup sink to the bottom before eating. We didn't wait too long and it tasted just fine. We waited maybe 1 minute or so. We would definitely come back here again!
Came back on my birthday, 2/11/26 and everything is still delicious! Service was friendly and the ambiance was filled with aloha. We love shave ice and Brian's brings us back home every time!
Came here specifically for the dole whip soft serve and it did not disappoint!! It was so so good! I can't wait to come back and try the shave ice. Small store with cute decor, I missed it the first time I passed by. Parking is kinda difficult since it is sawtelle and super busy. But there are lots and street parking. You just have to hover around a bit to find a spot. Service was friendly and fast!
This shave ice brings back memories of vacations in Hawaii. My wife found this place and we drove from Riverside 2 hours. Definitely worth it! Staff is friendly and service was quick! The atmosphere is mellow and all the Hawaiian chill vibes are here!
We love Brian's Shave Ice! They have an amazing selection of flavors, and the Dole Whip was a delicious too! The staff at the counter were super friendly and helpful. The store is clean and has fun, welcoming decor. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!
Brian's shave ice needs to get WAAAAY MORE recognition. Pulling up to this spot, we saw a line but it was actually for a spot next door and tbh, this place should've had that line. Entering, it gives the vibe of a small takeout dessert spot but with Hawaii vibes, like a little shack. The employees were super helpful, and nice. Where they kill it is in their quality. The shaved ice was so good and had many different options to choose from. I got the sunset beach with dole whip inside as my base, and it was fireeee!!! This is going to be something that I'm willing to share here but probably gonna gatekeep forever. Sorry in advance Brian's shave ice! Much love!

Came here with high hopes, but left disappointed. Can't compare with the good stuff in hawaii. Portions are huge, but taste is off. Mochi isn't as good, flavor and ice cream is okay. Didn't blow me away like the ones in Hawaii. Those hit different. Probably wouldn't come here again, but might be a good option if you're a hawaiian shaved ice virgin.

Some of, if not the best, shave ice that I have ever had. Honestly, after I was three bites into it I was already planning when I would be visiting Brian's again next which should be later this week. They have a ton of flavor and filling options on the board so it's easy to get a new thing each time you visit. The whole staff was really polite and everything was made within a few minutes, so it was a very quick stop for us. It's attached to a small shopping center so the best place to park is in the underground or you can park on the street if there are any space available. This part of town gets very busy at night so the underground parking may be the easiest. Make sure to validate your ticket! Otherwise it will be $5. I chose Cherry and Red Velvet as my flavor combination and decided to fill it with popping pearls. The popping pearls have a sweet sugary center so it was a tremendous addition to the shave ice. I also got the condensed milk topper and would recommend that to anyone. We also got a scoop of a Dole Whip, which is always refreshing and a great pallet cleanser. I was honestly really impressed and will be back again very soon. I am lucky that I live and work close by so I will be a frequent customer and would strongly recommend to anyone.

So I looked closer to home and found Brian's and it looked as if it were just as good. Upon receiving it, it looked very appetizing but as soon as I tasted it, there was just about no flavor. The service was good and they were friendly but for how slow they were, I would've expected some more flavor. I got POG, Banana, and Bkue Hawaii and I didn't taste just about any banana or blue Hawaii. The middle and bottom half of it was all plain ice and at one point I was just eating colored ice or even plain white ice so I threw it away. Definitely not worth the money and wont be going back here again. I'll definitely take the 2 hour drive to riverside for the other spot whenever I am craving shaved ice again.
Stopped by here after work due to the heat! I've been countless times and have always enjoyed their shaved ice, today was no different. Customer service is good and the pictures of customers enjoying their treats are plastered around the place, definitely making it lively. Food: I got a large size shaved ice($8.25), the flavors chosen were lemon, lime and green apple with sour spray. It was a delicious experience (not too sour but enough to give it a nice tang) and I look forward to my next visit. read more

The only shaved ice I am willing take the drive to! Last summer I went three days straight and they new me by name which was epic - my favorite flavours are tiger blood and cherry - the mango is yummy too but I stick to my red colors that give a delicious mix. read more
Ordered the Bottom Feeder, a combo of haupia and taro shave ice with a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream. It looked authentic and was a good size, but the texture wasn't creamy until the bottom when the small amount of ice cream began to make its contributions known, and the flavors were both very light and not distinct enough from one another. There may be other combinations that are more satisfying but the Bottom Feeder, especially at its higher price point, could use a few tweaks. read more

I really wanted a Hawaiian shaved ice that looked authentic, but I didn't want to drive 30 minutes across town (7 miles) haha so I picked a highly rated one nearby. This is on the corner of 2 major streets and the parking lot is tiny until you realize there's an underground parking lot for 30 minutes are free with a validation for this place. I did the li Hing, tigers blood and pog with a snow cap. To be honest, I couldn't really taste the flavors. I got a small one because they were huge, but there was a lot of liquid and I think they kind of blended together. I couldn't distinguish flavors but for what I wanted, which was something cold on a hot day and nearby for a fair price, this did it for me. No indoor seating, but benches outside. Not super busy. Steady rotation of ppl coming in and turn around for receiving your shaved ice and out the door. read more

One of my favorite places to get shaved ice. They have so many flavors to the point where it's so hard to choose which combination you want (not complaining!)!! You can also get a lot of drizzles (i.e. condensed milk, my go-to) and sour spray (never had it but want to try it)!! After lunch at one of the many Japanese restaurants in Sawtelle, I felt the need for dessert. Brian's Shave Ice hit the spot. I had their shave ice combo called Sunset Beach. It had hawaiian punch, passion fruit, and mango syrup. A Hawaiian shave ice should be very finely shaved, light, and airy (no ice chucks). It was definitely authentic Hawaiian shave ice. The syrups were tasty. In addition to their pre-set combinations, you can pick your own combination of flavors (1 to 3). I think there were 25 syrup choices when we went. You can add a filling on the bottom of the shave ice (Fosselman's ice cream, Dole Pineapple Whip, mochi, lychee jelly, popping pearls, or red bean are filling options at an additional cost). They also offer ice cream or Dole whip by itself without the shave ice. They also serve hot or cold kona coffee when you think it is too cold for a cold dessert (I can eat shave ice in any weather). Brian's Shave Ice is a perfect place to end a meal after finishing at one of the many nearby restaurants. Next time in Sawtelle, I will definitely go back especially if it is a warm/hot day. read more

First time ordering from here on Postmates. I love shaved ice and had no idea about this place! Until I saw it online. On the Westside, and easy to order! Average price is about $9 which is Westside pricey. But the flavors are amazing! Refreshing and perfect for a hot day or if you just like shaved ice like me! Much healthier than 7-Eleven slurpees which is my go to usually and budget friendly but thought to try this instead and will be back! You can request no snow cap if you don't do dairy like me which I appreciated. Also they have flavor pearls! I got passion fruit! So good! And decent size tool just which they had sustainable packaging if instead of styrofoam. That's would be my big suggestion. read more
Very few shaved ice places on the west side, so I'm glad there's at least one place that's decent. Brian's never disappoints, so much so that if they had a rewards program I'd probably be somewhere near gold/platinum level. Can't go wrong with any toppings or ice flavors. Only thing that would be "icing on the cake" would be not to hide the mochi at the bottom of the cup. I'm being happily forced to eat all the ice before reaching the good stuff. read more
Heard lotsa good things about this place, so even though I just ate dessert less than 20 minutes ago, I still managed to squeeze in shave ice. Lotsa options on their menu, but since it was a hot day and I was feeling dehydrated, I went for a more refreshing option. I think their green apple syrup was my fav flavor (the pink lemonade and lemon was very good too). Loved the ice consistency. It was soft and on par with I expected of Hawaiian shave ice. super great shaved ice! reminded me of korean patbingsu but instead of the typical red bean, it had these amazing fruity syrups that weren't overly sweet and had a nice flavor. I especially liked the hawaiian punch and mango. highly recommend getting the snow cap for added creaminess. it was so good! and the staff was really nice. when i mentioned they forgot the snowcap, they gave it to me immediately and apologized! read more

Amazing hawaiian style shave ice!! They have so many flavors and fillings and toppings. I opted for the POG, blue raspberry, and passion fruit. The blue raspberry was so good! They have 3 sizes but even the smallest is very generous. Will def be back! read more

Hubby was craving shaved ice but as good as the one from Hawaii and he found this spot....It was a bit overwhelming with all the countless flavors and add ons they have and when we finally decided all the flavors we chose were so rich and delicious! Taken as it was a bit busy we got both our items quick. My husband got regular size with coconut pineapple ice cream as base for toppings he got blue Hawaii, piña colada and another flavor I can't quite remember but it was so delicious! I got the kiddie size with cotton candy, lychee and POG with coconut pineapple ice cream it was just perfect for me. The place is small but so cute. Definitely going back again ! read more

Tried ube shaved ice with ice cream, the purple was very pale and could bearly taste flavor but the ice-cream make it not as bad. There were also big chunks of ice. read more
Have been obsessed with Dole Pineapple Whip. Yay! They have excellent whip. $4.25 for a small, was plenty for me. It's a tiny little shop on Sawtelle with a few benches outside. All good. Friendly staff. The kids near me seemed to be seriously into the shaved ice. I was very happy. read more
I was very impressed with this place. I can eat this stuff all day. At first I got blue Hawaii and haupia together, but it tasted of way too much vanilla. The flavors weren't bold and were too similar. So on my next try I got fruitier flavors and enjoyed those a lot more. I got lime, blue raspberry, and passion fruit with sour spray. I love all the different options they have and I'll definitely come again. read more
