Stopped by and tried the seasonal flavor Chocolate malted potato chip cupcake. Pretty sweet but really good if you're craving a sweet treat. Staff was nice and helpful with our samples thank you!

You can't walk past a Salt & Straw without smelling the sweet flavors wafting out. I decided to try the strawberry balsamic and black pepper and my husband ordered his usual, salted caramel. I only wanted a small portion so I ordered a kids size while he got a double scoop; price came to $14. So definitely on the pricier end when it comes to ice cream but it is delicious and they hand out free samples. Lots of employees working, friendly.

I love Salt & Straw. We are fortunate enough to have a few locations back home in Arizona. I stumbled upon this location while driving through Culver City. Salt & Straw is a Portland based ice cream company that has really made a name for itself since its inception in 2011. Salt & Straw is known for their exotic ice cream flavors like Pear & Blue Cheese, Arbequina Olive Oil and Strawberry Honey Balsamic w/ Black Pepper. They are partially owned by film star and wrestler The Rock. Salt & Straw has their regular menu flavors, but also feature rotating ones throughout the year. I enjoyed coming here because Salt & Straw has flavors that are found only on the West Coast. I got to sample a couple new flavors while here. One thing that I have always enjoyed about Salt & Straw is that their stores are always clean and the customer service is great. They let you sample flavors if you can't decide on what to get. You can also grab a pint to go if you want to enjoy an evening on the couch with some Salt & Straw ice cream. I have tried a number of flavors now and have enjoyed each one of them. You can't go wrong with their signature Sea Salt w/ Caramel Ribbons. I grabbed a drink over at Philz Coffee next door to this store. Their coffee and my Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie Salt & Straw ice cream were the perfect combo.

First time at Salt & Straw. Not the last time at Salt & Straw! Was having drinks after dinner and saw someone walking down the street with a cone. Decided that was the next stop in the night. I loved that S&S was open until 11p. Having a sweet treat spot that you can go to that late was awesome. Usually when I see this place the one is always long and now I know that's because the product is so good. Admittedly I didn't know the wide range of flavor options because I am pretty much a four flavor ice cream guy. I loved being able to sample all of the ice cream. The workers were very helpful and patient making suggestions based on what I usually like. I needed up going with the double vanilla and salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough double scoop in a cup. DELICIOUS. What a cool spot that I will be coming back to when it is actually hot outside next time.

I love visiting salt and straw at this location because the employees are always so accommodating with providing samples and they are so patient while I make up my mind about what I want. This location is very clean and the service is very quick. The ice cream is always delicious at salt and straw. Some of the flavors sound wild and out of the ordinary, but I'm never disappointed by my ice cream flavor choices. They know how to meld the flavors well to make delicious and unique flavors. The single scoop is generous and very filling, but my favorite is a split scoop because you get a generous portion of two flavors if you can't decide on just one.

The service here is excellent. Interesting flavors and you can try as many as you want. I got a split scoop of Cinnamon Snickerdoodle and Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie dough. It was so good! Can't wait to come back.

Split flavored Cinnamon Snickerdoodle Apple and Cheddar Cinnamon Rolls really good!!

Thanks to Giovanni at salt and straw for recommending. Tried the Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle and Apples & Cheddar Cinnamon Roll flavors--both were incredibly creamy and full of fall flavor. The Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle had warm spice notes and chewy cookie bits that balanced perfectly with the rich ice cream base. The Apples & Cheddar Cinnamon Roll was surprisingly delicious--sweet, savory, and buttery with real chunks of cinnamon roll and a hint of sharp cheddar that actually worked! Salt & Straw always nails those creative combos. Definitely a must-try for the season!

Salt & Straw is a popular ice cream chain that offers unique and seasonal ice cream flavors. I have visited other locations in the past, but this was my first time visiting the downtown Culver City one. Came here on a Friday evening with a friend and there were people but no line. We were not greeted upon entering, but a staff member helped us pretty quickly. We were able to sample several flavors (mostly the seasonal ones) before we ordered. I ordered a small split scoop in a cup with Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin Bread and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. The Pumpkin Bread had a good pumpkin flavor with chunks of pumpkin bread it in. It is a good choice if looking for a fall flavor. The Cinnamon Snickerdoodle tasted like the cookie in ice cream form. It was pretty sweet, but there was a good cinnamon flavor. Texture of both ice creams were smooth and creamy. Overall, giving Salt & Straw a 4/5. It's a good spot for getting some unique ice cream flavors, but it is on the pricey side. There aren't any tables inside, so it is a grab-and-go situation. However, it is located in a plaza with several seating options. Would come back to try other flavors in the future.

Pickled cucumber sorbet

Nice staff and no line Wednesday night. I really like how unique their seasonal menu is and supposedly it'll be apple themed in September. Pickled cucumber was my favorite where it was a perfect balance of pickle juice but fresh cucumbers too. The tomato gelato was a little too mild as the olive brittle overpowered. Chocolate chip zucchini bread was exactly what it sounds like. Melon & Prosciutto was solid and well balanced as well. Sweet and salty. No seating inside but plenty of outdoor seating on the steps.

Love the variety of ice cream flavors that they have. I sampled a few before the server that we had got annoyed and started assuming the next flavor we asked the sample was the one we wanted to buy scoops of. The other server was so much nicer when interacting with customers so I guess we got someone who didn't like their job or customers. The olive oil ice cream with tomato brittle was a unique flavor that I didn't think would work but it does! 5 stars for the ice cream 3 stars for the service

I love coming to this Salt and Straw in downtown Culver for a sweet treat. I usually always get their: Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (5/5) which is their house-made cookie dough with thick malted fudge that tastes like fudgy brownies imo in a salted ice cream base. I love the saltiness of the ice cream with the malt flavor and their cookie dough is the best since it's freshly made and not out of a frozen package. My favorite monthly menu series item is their: Oishii Strawberry Pretzel Salad (5/5): This comes with a cream cheese ice cream base with crunchy, salty pretzel crumble mixed inside with swirls of strawberry jam that has strawberry chunks inside. I loved this combo since it tasted like a strawberry cheesecake ice cream but with pretzels instead that worked very well as it gave it texture. The strawberry jam with Oishii strawberries was to die for. It tasted so fresh and sweet, with the perfect jam consistency.

As an ice cream lover, I have pretty high standards, and while Salt & Straw wouldn't be my number one or two, it definitely earns a solid third place for me. The flavors are creative and well balanced, not just sweet for the sake of it, and you can tell the ingredients are quality. The texture was smooth, portions were satisfying, and the staff was friendly and patient despite the crowd. It's a great stop when you want something a little different from classic ice cream. Would I come back? Yes, especially when I'm in the mood to try new flavors.

Did this place close down ?v Culver City spot closed on a Friday at 7pm, looked pretty empty inside

They should still be open. It could be a temporary adjustment for store hours. I just visited last week

I have been to all the Handels in So Cal. The service I…read morereceived at this Culver City location was great. I ordered ice cream for my three daughters and one of them tried a new flavor without first asking to sample it. She ended up not happy and not eating her ice cream. So I went in and spoke with one of the employee"s whom I did not get his name. He was empathetic to my situation and he kindly replaced it with her favorite flavor, black cherry. I'm grateful for the kind, understanding and prompt service I received. Customer forever. Handels is hands down the best Ice Cream in town.

At least when I visited, all of the employees were very young and it seemed like they didn't really want to be there. I noticed it because they were getting distracted and it was taking them a long time to get to each order. When our turn came, the employee who assisted us turned around and made a face because we asked for samples. This location definitely needs a responsible adult manager to supervise these younger employees. Perhaps with a better management system and structure, service will be faster and friendlier. Again, there's plenty to choose from when it comes to ice cream flavors. The ice cream is very sweet, so a small size will do. There's plenty of parking on the side, which is convenient.

I really like ice cream shops that have unique flavors and high quality flavors and this place delivered on both fronts. I sampled a bunch of flavors and the coffee and nuts flavor was pretty good, but ended up getting the strawberry with black pepper and the chocolate brownie on a waffle cone. Both of those flavors were pretty solid, I liked the chocolate brownie a lot more than the strawberry, the strawberry had portions where it tasted straight like strawberry syrup that was a bit too sweet for my liking (even though I have a sweet tooth) The worker was nice even though we had like 4-5 samples before deciding what to buy without any pressure so that was nice. I like that they give napkins and a spoon as well if you ask. The only negatives were the price and I wish the waffle cone was made fresh right on the spot. But otherwise, would come back again!

I got my go-to flavor, the Espresso Delux Hokey Pokey. Personally, I find this flavor to be more rich in flavor, but less sweet than the original Hokey Pokey. Plus, as a coffee-lover, how can I say no to coffee?!?! The ice cream was smooth and creamy, while the coffee flavor was noted with each bite without being too strong or overpowering. There was also a slight note of tanginess to it. It was topped off with crushed bits of chocolate covered almonds and toffee/honey comb flakes. In my opinion, this was the highlight as the toppings complimented the ice cream. You get the smooth and creaminess from the ice cream, yet the crunchy, chocolatey and nuttiness from the infused toppings. Now that's a heavenly bite. Highly recommend checking this place out whenever you're at Century City mall. It's located on the 2nd floor, right outside of Macy's. This garbage should be free, I should be paid to get rid of it. The mere concept that they also host baking classes in here is what I would call culinary terrorism. An affront to desserts as an artform as much as the desserts are an affront to taste as a sense.
