The Dan Dan noodles here are slurping legit. I'm talking eat every spoonful of the broth and be sure to order extra noodles. Yes, do not disobey me. If you love sesame and peanut flavors you have come to the right spot. Service was efficient like you'd expect from a class ramen noodle bar.

Japanese take on Chinese dan dan noodles. I've heard really good things about Killer Noodle and it didn't disappoint. Although you need to come with an open mind on what to expect as the best thing on the menu here is not the traditional tonkotsu ramen but rather the dan dan noodles. Make sure you read through the ingredient list and pick what toppings you like. I'm personally not a very big fan of bean sprouts and honestly wish I had ordered my noodles without it. That said, it did add a nice crunchy texture to every bite. If you come during lunch hours, they have a lunch special which gives you a selection of two noodles, two toppings, and a drink for the same price as one ramen on the regular menu, which I thought was a pretty good deal. We came on a Monday and the restaurant was fairly busy although there was no line. It did take a while for our food to arrive so definitely be patient!

I went twice in a week! So the review is for the $17.95 lunch special & when I went to dinner previously. Either time it was hot outside but they blast their ac and the decor is so cool inside with their chandelier and decorated walls. First the lunch specials, it's decently priced for a bowl of dan dan dry or when I got was OG tokyo dan dan. It doesn't come with the seasoned egg but every thing else that comes with the regular price item. I added corn and my friend added bamboo (menma) and since it came on the side, we got to add it to our bowls. We got spice level 3, regular and it had some heat but it was perfect to add some chili oil on top. The chili they use is ghost pepper after level 4 (confirm) so the heat and numbness really will kick in faster. I got the matcha iced and because it wasn't sweet. Our waiter brought as a shot of simple syrup. I went early for lunch so we found street parking right away. For dinner a previous time I had to try the special in the collab they had with Bleach. I had the Stripe Green curry ramen. You can't choose the spice level but love the unique taste! This should be a regular Menu item. It had a good little heat and the spinach noodles were a nice touch. It was well balanced! The fries were good, too and a good portion. I can't wait to come back and bring more friends.

Service is slow but because of the satisfying food and cool vibes, I'd give Killer Noodle another try. We were surprised by the trendy interior, red walls and black accents, red chandelier and neon sign. Prices are good and the menu is not overwhelming. You can get many noodle dishes dry or with soup. White Mabo noodles, spice level 3 - it came almost mixed with a white gravy. Mildly flavored but this supposed average spice level wasn't at all spicy. Didn't care as the dish tasted good and the dry noodles were chewy as described on the menu. It came with an overcooked poached egg, the yolk was jammy. I didn't bother sending it back because service was slow. Our server gave minimal effort. They seemed understaffed. I politely approached our server about when my food would come out and she pointed to a tray with it as she handled a take out order. Vegetable Ramen - My friend would not come back. Big bowl, she added chicken and got a perfectly poached egg. Maybe next time I'll sit in the spacious patio to people watch in case service again is slow. Would be good to have their lunch combo special.

Saw the try guys episode doing a spicy noodle challenge here, so I really wanted to try it! While you can adjust the spice and numbing spice levels at levels 1-6, I tried the Dan Dan ramen at level 6 and the Dan Dan noodles at level 4 which tbh weren't too spicy but still tasted pretty good. The peanut and nutty flavors are strong in both dishes which dilutes the spice, but vinegar balanced out the flavors. Also, ordered the Karage and takoyaki which were yummy but not stand out. The service was friendly and quick. The restaurant has a moderate amount of casual seating with fun and vibrant wall art with projected lights.

Fun place, and was actually my last bowl of ramen while still in town. Had the Dandan Ramen with side of Chashu Pork for toppings. Loved the broth here, rich and flavorful, with a nice amount of spice.

Spicy ramen in Sawtelle! I tried the dry ramen version of the white mabo, the ramen had a nice texture and the sauce was tasty. As someone who can't handle spice, the level 2 was good enough for me, as long as you don't mix in the chilis that they give you on the side! I made the mistake of doing so, and it ended up being way too spicy for my taste. The interior is aesthetic and modern, and set it was quick. Overall this spot was good, especially if you're trying to avoid long lines, but sawtelle definitely had better spots.

I tried their dan dan noodles dry without peanut butter and I thought it was very good. The taste was very vinegary and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. My only complaint is compared to the other dishes such as the mapo tofu noodles or the white mapo, the portion was significantly smaller for the same price since it didn't contain anything other than noodles. Service was 10/10, servers were attentive. There is a valet lot right next to the restaurant but is only free for one hour. $10 after that.

I had always passed by this place but had never had the chance to try it until yesterday. We arrived at the restaurant at about 5-5:30ish and it was fairly empty. We sat in the corner and looked through the menu. I saw mala ramen and decided to get that, while my girlfriend got the Dandan ramen. We also got the spicy edamame. I had asked for the dashi cucumber but I think the server mistook my order and literally just gave me some sliced cucumbers. The edamame was pretty spicy but the flavor was a bit lacking. The ramen was actually really good! I liked the tiny pieces of chilis and the chunks of doubianjiang with meat. My girlfriend also enjoyed the dandan ramen and believes she can get a spicier level, as she opted to get both the spice and numbness levels at 1. The restaurnt became fairly packed after we finished eating, and I was happy that we got there when we did. The restaurant is fairly large and inviting, but to see all those seats taken when we finished eating... this place definitely is one of the more popular restaurants on Sawtelle. Would definitely come back and get the dry ramen next time!

Spontaneously decided to try out Killer Noodle! Fun naruto theme! Two of us ordered: downtown ramen (level 1) $17.95 tokyo dry (level 1) $17.95 +$2 for a large Quite a bit of seating inside. I think probably worth to just bump to a larger bowl. Fun flavors. Street parking only.

Everything was excellent. The atmosphere and service by John were exactly what we were looking for. The Dan Dan Ramen was packed with flavor, and the spice level 3 had the perfect amount of heat. We ordered the spicy edamame, which was a great starter. Our server John gave excellent recommendations and was attentive throughout our meal. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back.

Best ramen in la! I loved the Dan Dan ramen with the peanut butter! Sooo delicious! I of course removed all pork and still it was the best ramen I've had in la! Valet parking in the back = $10 after first hour Wait time was kinda annoying = 1 hour - as they don't take resies.

    Tokyo Dry Style
    Winnie K.

Killer Noodle Tsujita is known for Dan Dan Noodles where you can choose the flavor of Ma-La (numbness and spiciness) from 0-6. The high heat levels are spiced with ghost peppers, so beware... it is no joke. For the food: There are ramen and dry style versions of noodles. My go-to is the Tokyo DanDan Dry Style. I love the creaminess that the peanut butter gives to the dish. The standard is 3/3. If it's your first time, I'd recommend trying that. I've lost my spice tolerance, so I stick with level 2/1. Split the Karaage with the table.

Ask the Community - Killer Noodle

Can I bring a cake in for a bday with candles?

What's the difference between tokyo and downtown?

Hi! The Tokyo flavor is more creamy and peanut/sesame based. The Downtown flavor is tangy and vinegar/chili based. You can read the ingredients on their website if that helps!

Can I sit outside if I bring a dog with me?

There is seating outside, I don't know if you can have your dog with you but I would assume so.

So do they offer vegan noodles or not?

They do have a vegan option available. 🖤

Do they cook with MSG please?

Are all the ramen broths dairy-free?

Do they have a gluten free noodle option?

    They do not.

Do you have Tokyo or downtown style broth that's vegetarian?

    They don't.

    Do they have vegan noodles?

    They do not

Do they still offer a Yelp Waitlist?

No you have to go in person and sign into a paper waitlist then wait outside for them to call your name

If I have a nut allergy, is it possible to order the Tokyo style ramen without peanut butter or cashews?

    Yes

    Is Killer Noodle open today?

    Yes!

Do all the ramen dishes contain some form of nuts? I am deathly allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts.

I can't say that for certain that ALL of their dishes contain nuts, but I can tell you that sesame and cashew is a major player in their menu. Plus, there's the possibility of interaction in the kitchen. Better to err on the side of caution when…

Can you order it without the peanut butter and cashews?

Yes of course we can do that .

    Do they take reservations?

They do not. Only walk ins

I know one of the other Tsujita locations uses dried shrimp in their broth. I'm allergic to shelfish. Can I eat the soup here?

I went with a friend who doesn't eat meat and she was able to get a vegetarian broth instead of the one made with pork...but I would still double check with them before ordering so there's no issue!

Do they open on July 4th?

    Yes

Are the noodles made from wheat flour or rice flour?

Rice noodles are typically of ramen noodles.

Do they have a vegetarian / Vegan / non pork options?

Yes I was just there , the DO HAVE VEGETARIAN broth. I don't eat meat. I am sure of this.

Chicken Karaage was very good. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen and Chicken Karaage. The Chiasu was tender and cut thick. I really enjoyed having lunch here. While I was there, people were coming in and out, and the place fills up. The manager/owner was Japanese and was very friendly.

That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. It's the kind of detail that softens an otherwise middling meal. So, Little Tokyo ramen crawl: two down, verdict still out. The people have been great. The noodles? I'm still waiting to be impressed. On to the next bowl.
