Chicken Thighs - Marinade Sauce Fries - White Cheddar
    Ross C.

This restaurant is a unique option in Fort Wayne that you have to try. The food is wonderful, the prices are cheap, and the staff is very friendly. Everything was made to order, we waited around 8 minutes for our food. We got the small thigh order with the marinade sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was incredible. The portion was plentiful especially for the $8.99 price. The fries were a great addition to the meal as well. This cute establishment is a try!

Soy garlic. This is medium after eating 2 pieces. So much yumminess!!

Omgomgomg. What a gem you have Fort Wayne!! The food was piping hot, wonderfully crispy and perfectly seasoned! I ordered 2 medium boneless thighs since I wanted to try 2 flavors - soy garlic and yellow cheese snow - and I got soooo much food, I couldn't even eat half! I can eat, so that means it's alot! Lol. The soy garlic was sweet, savory and garlicky, which I loved, and yellow cheese snow was soooo good! The staff was super friendly, and the outdoor eating area was pretty cute - they only have few outdoor eating area. I would have eaten there if it wasn't so hot today. Well, next time!

I have to say this is one of my favorite places to go to in Fort Wayne. The chicken is cooked perfectly along with the taste reminding me of the Korean Fried Chicken from California. The prices are very cheap for what you get. I eat a lot and can eat the medium all in one sitting, but I am satisfied after indulging. The counter lady is very nice and can answer any questions you have on the food. The place is nice, it's not big, but it's the perfect shack for a grab and go meal. I ate outside and it feels like a very summer vibe eatery. I will definitely come again because the food was absolutely delicious. I just wish they had pickled carrots and radish and garlic fries.

YUM YUM YUM!!! These wings were out of this world. I got the spicy marinade; they were hot and crispy. I also ordered the infamous snow cheese fries. They were very addicting! The family that runs it is super sweet. I'll definitely miss being so close to this place.

Sorry ate the food . Went to Franke park by the duck n geese pond. The food was really good !!

Small drive up window to order. They give you a beeper to tell you when your food is done. About 15-20 minutes. We waited in the parking lot though. Have a few picnic tables outside to eat. Beeper goes off , drive back to pick up window or the carry-out window in front. Drive to Franke Park to eat. Oh my goodness !! Those hot large and sooo crunchy delicious onion rings !!! Will get 2 orders next time. Husband tore them up !!! As hot as they were too !! It's a huge order, but yeah 2 next time. The fries were very good. Will get them a bit crisper next time, but very tasty. The Soy Fried Dumplings we're good too. But they weren't hot. Just warmed up. Now for that awesome chicken !!! I got the wings. The sauce was delicious and you pay extra for it, so you know now. Don't get mad when you see it on your bill. IT IS EXTRA !! Husband ordered the boneless thighs, Soy Garlic sauce. That was tasty. They were large pieces !! Tender, moist and kinda crispy. The sauce affects the crispness of all the chicken. It is really good, however I will next time not have the sauce on the chicken. Hopefully can get it on the side and dip it. All in all we had plenty of leftovers for a nice snack that evening watching a movie at home. That is saying a lot cause Husband is a big eater. No, no awesome Onion Rings or White Cheese Fries !! GONE!!! LOL The Chicken and the Soy Dumplings heated up very well in the oven. A bit pricey, but would definitely go again. Very nice owners. Looks like a small wood cabin on Goshen road. Might miss it, kinda hidden.

Korean fried chicken - I ordered mine with my sauce on the side. My wings were nice and crispy with the kinda crunch I like when I take a bite. My sauces of choice were marinade kinda sweet and soy garlic both were delicious - but I think I like the soy garlic the best. I definitely will be back!

After the ownership change, Uniq (now with lowercase letters!) is actually... okay now, I guess?…read moreStill nothing impressive, but it's a solid C+ and the new owners (heard they are the same guys behind Haru) actually seem to know what they're doing. My favorite things in the new Uniq are easily the chinmi (fishcake) tempura and the mixed drink (I got Green Apple, which came in a nice blue liquid like the chemical cocktail it is) which is... honestly kinda sad, but they got actual KBBQ now and are a lot more professional about the whole thing. Seriously though, for an AYCE appetizer, the chinmi tempura was quite excellent, though the shrimp tempura on the other hand was sad and soggy and raw and all-around depressing. Dae Gee still has much better appetizer options, that's for sure (nothing can beat a good Midwestern cheese corn yummmm). I still don't get what's supposed to be so uniq about this place though? Perhaps it's the tiny amount of broth and banchan they give you? Both have unlimited refills if you just ask, but something about it still strikes me as being particularly stingy. None of the meats are particularly special either even though they have more choices now. Most of the cuts are fatty (the galbi in particular is what we'd call a "trash cut" due to how fatty it is) and the different flavor profiles that they have like bulgogi, spicy honey or umakara ("sweet-and-spicy") just kind of blend together. The beef tongue also struck me as being way tougher than it had any business being, perhaps it was cut a little too thick. Much of the seafood is still obviously from Rang Dong. Though they got rid of the syrupy "bingsu" and just offer buffet ice cream now, which is actually a nice change of pace. It's about Paradise Buffet level in terms of cream quality, which I guess isn't so bad. Perhaps the one GOOD and uniq thing I can talk about is that they were playing RELATIVELY obscure K-Pop songs like Nekkoya when we visited, rather than the ultra-popular stuff that you hear everywhere in Chinatowns, with some Persona 5 OST and Ado thrown in. I respect. Should've turned the volume up further, though. If you're gonna weeb out, do it correctly. TL;DR I still like Dae Gee better tbh, but they have some competition now.

First of all, they take reservations, which is great because we had a larger group for a holiday family gathering. We came to do the KBBQ with some family members who had never gotten it before. We ordered the premium plate, and got plenty of food for the group, including the bachan dishes. We got pork belly, chicken, and the ribeye (which was our favorite!). And as others mentioned, they gave us onion and pineapple to season the grill, which was delicious! The bachan were fun--they even had a potato salad which my Midwestern family members really loved (along with the corn appetizer!). The service was great--the workers checked in on us and were always ready to bring more bachan or help changing the grill for us! They even had some tasty mocktails for my family members who don't drink. Such a great time and delicious food at Dae Gee! So glad people will get to try their hand at Korean BBQ!

On this occasion we occupied the large group room. The room was cozy and allowed our party to have an intimate room to ourselves. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of help to serve our larger group. They were a bit slow...but allowed us to pace ourselves and enjoy the fellowship. I was impressed that they hustled a child's order ahead of the adults food to keep them satisfied. I didn't see the waiters come back through much after the food was served. On this trip I ordered the steak teriyaki bento box. The box is a bit expensive compared to Other places. However the sinking atmosphere, location, quality and volume...justify the price in my mind. The box came with a cup of miso soup. The soup was tasty and a lot like you would expect for a Japanese restaurant. It did not come with a salad as many other places might. The box was stuffed with food! The steak es piled high and excellent! It was very tender and moist. It had a nice teriyaki flavor marinated in the meat. There were two crab Rangoon pieces and two egg rolls. Normally you would only expect one of each. The crab Rangoon wrapper was cooked so that it was a bit oily and the wrapper was mushy. The filling was plentiful. However I felt like the filling was lacking on crab taste and overpowering on cream cheese. The egg Roll wrappers were a bit more crispy without being too crispy. The wrapper was a bit greasy to taste. I found the filling...while fresh...to be a little mushy as well. There were five pieces of a California roll included. That was a lot of sushi to eat as well. The roll was tasty. It was put together nicely and gave you a good taste of each ingredient.

All of them were delicious and stayed crispy even after fifteen minutes in the car. My only criticism is that they do not let you split sauces when you order the twelve piece wings. You have to order multiple six piece servings if you want to try each sauce, which feels unnecessary. I would like to come back, but it seems the owner does not listen to customer feedback at all. Because of that, I probably will not bother again. No matter how good the food is, bad customer service overshadows it. Good luck to them. Also, you should really offer customers napkins instead of making them walk over to the ice cream area to grab their own. Overall, it feels like amateur hour here. It is a shame because the place has so much potential.
