    happy staff!! thanks DC KBBQ!!
    Nneka M.

Great food for a great cause!! Special shout out to these guys for giving us free food during this pandemic! In addition to the graciousness of their donation, the food was so delicious. They provided both meat and vegetarian options: each rice box came with a protein (chicken, pork, or tofu), white rice, cabbage slaw, and a potsticker. Each container was clearly labeled and packaged neatly. The food amount was just enough to feel full....perfect for lunch at work. Thanks again to korean bbq taco box and supporting local hospitals in this time of need :)

Enjoyed the spicy pork tacos! Fried cheese rolls and dumplings. The tacos had a great tang!

Tonkotsu (pork belly) and Honey Glazed Spiced Jumbo Wings

I had the chance to visit KBBQ Box. I preordered online and was able to pick up my order on time. The staff was friendly when I received my order. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and the Honey Glazed Spiced Chicken Wings. Tonkotsu Ramen- mild flavored broth with two different types of finely sliced fish cakes, slivers of seaweed, hard boiled egg, bamboo shoots, Shanghai bok toy, corn and scallions. Enjoyable but felt something was missing... Honey Glazed Spiced Chicken Wings- My first impression was the to-go box was larger than I anticipated. Made complete sense when I opened the box and found 8 jumbo sized wings smothered with a glistening red syrupy sauce, side salad w/ wasabi dressing and a side of rice drizzled with teriyaki sauce. The first bite into the wing was crispy and tender. There was a slight sweetness and heat that heeded another bite. After enjoying a few more wings, the addictive sauce created a slow burn that radiates from the inside out and sweetness that had me going back for more. Admittedly, I inhaled one full order.... so I ordered another set to enjoy the next day. I am definitely looking forward to the next visit!

My absolute favorite Korean Fusion truck! There is another that comes close (hint...AZN), but KBTB (Korean BBQ Taco Box) offers a more fulfilling and consistent experience. For those who have not tried, a Taco from KBTB is fit for giants. You don't get a few tiny tacos that fit in your hand. You get one massive two handed soft taco that is filled with freshly and expertly prepared ingredients...Bulgogi being my favorite choice. Each is also available as a bowl, and in both cases, are accompanied by one "KFC" or Korean (hot & spicy) Fried Chicken wing, a couple of slices of fried cheese roll (a tortilla stuffed with rice and then fried, sliced and drizzled with cheesy mayo sauce), and a small, simple salad. The uniquely Korean icing on the cake? A tiny bottle of "Biofeel" which is a sweet yogurt drink that you will find at some more traditional Korean restaurants as an after meal treat. What some people don't know is it is a probiotic drink (L. Casei specifically - http://www.probiotic.org/lactobacillus-casei.htm) that aids in digestion of the delicious meal that you just ate :-) So give KBTB a try. They always welcome you with a smile and take pride in providing friendly service and tasty food.

Bulgogi taco box with 2 KFC wings instead of one and cheese roll pieces.

I waited in a looooooong line during Truckeroo to get me my Korean taco fix. I ordered a bulgogi taco box, which came with: - One (only one? T^T) bulgogi taco - Ginger dressing salad - Spicy Korean fried chicken wing - 2 pieces of fried cheese rolls (that I subbed out for another chicken wing) I really liked the bulgogi taco, and seriously lamented that there was only one. It was HOT, though, fresh off the grill. i slightly burned my mouth rushing to devour this whoops. It was bigger than the tacos I usually get, but I wished there were still more. :( The spicy KFC was good and I felt a bit of a tingle from the spiciness after having a second one. Not the best Korean fried chicken I've had but it's good with this box but it was definitely quite tasty. However, I'm kind of sad because I did read about getting those little yogurt drinks in the reviews and I saw a box, but I didn't get one. So sad. Really good bulgogi tacos though. I'm sure the bulgogi rice boxes would also be good.

3.5*. In past few years, shows like the Great Food Truck Race inspired a new generation of food entrepreneurs to venture into Euro-Asian fusion cuisine, one of which still seems to have kept it's popularity since the show: the Korean Taco. While the Korean BBQ Taco box does not have the fame of its predecessors, it is one of the most highly rated ethnic food serving trucks in the DMV area and it's the most highly rated (or tied) Korean food truck (as of March 2014). Their menu is divided into 3 categories: a) KBBQ rice box- standard fare (meat) dishes including KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), Bulgogi-marinated sliced beef, spicy pork (sliced porked marinated in hot spices), and chicken teriyaki (Japanese) b) Taco- iterations of all the kbbq rice box meat in a taco c) Special Box (fried cheese rolls)-I don't recommend this; spicy chicken wings (I don't recommend this because all the rice boxes come with 1 free wing anyway) After sampling the entire menu, my overall impression is that there is nothing extraordinary about the food truck. Standard marinade recipes are used for the meat, the quality of ingredients are what I would expect from standard suppliers for restaurants. As for their "special" sauce that goes into their taco, it's mayonnaise mixed in with a bit of sriracha/ketchup. Nothing special there either. Quantity-wise, they are extremely generous. Their lunch boxes come with salad, a few slices of egg roll, and a chicken wing (glazed similarly to Korean Bonchon chicken wings but far inferior). Does this make it an overall 4.5* rating? I'd say not. While I commend Korean BBQ Taco Box for not pouring bags of MSG into my meal and allowing me to stay awake after finishing, the better "taco" themed food trucks outside of the DMV area has spoiled my food palate. That being said, KBBQ taco box will continue to get my support due to my frequent Korean food cravings combined with the lack of Korean food options in my work area.

#1 - Korean Fried Chicken over rice, halves of cheese rolls, ginger salad, and spicy chicken wing
    Lucas B.

When I walked up to the KBBQ truck I was pretty sure I had never had it before. When I got back to my desk at work and opened my box of food I realized I was wrong. The first time I had this food truck it was a couple months ago and I was not pleased. I believe I got the Fried Cheese Rolls. There is a kind of cheese sauce that comes over top of the food that I was just not a fan of with the cheese rolls themselves. Thank goodness I didn't remember the truck... THIS time, I got the #1 KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) with Rice. It was accompanied with 2 half cheese rolls, a ginger salad, and a spicy chicken wing. When I mixed the KFC with the cheese sauce and rice it went together really nicely. I'm not sure I've ever had flavors like that together but I was a fan. The ginger salad was nothing mind blowing, but it did what it was supposed to - gave you a little refreshing taste in between super flavorful bites. I went after the chicken wing last and it. was. freakin. delicious. I think next time I'll just get the wing entree! It was that good. Balancing out the meal I had today with the poor first experience I had a few months ago, I'm happy to give KBBQ box a 3 star review. I'll be back!

    Spicy pork combo
    James S.

I've been here a few times and am impressed with quality, quantity, and variety at KBBQ. Every meal provides a combo with a delightful selection of treats to delight and inspire your taste buds. My favorite dish so far is the Spicy Pork and I'm glad that they don't tone down the spice to appeal to wimps. It is spicy enough to clear your sinuses. The addition of a small salad with ginger dressing helps to cool things down. The combo items are a really nice touch. The chicken wing is enticing enough that I may have to order a full wing meal on my next visit. The "Cheese Eggroll" is a bit bizarre, but quite tasty with an artful squeeze of "yum yum" sauce. Finally the Korean Maeil's BIOFEEL is a great frozen treat at the end... if you haven't had it - it tastes a lot like an orange cream-cicle and contains Lactobacillus which is supposed to be good for digestion. My only complaint is that the past two times I have been I didn't get my "1 Piece Korean dish (varies)" item included. However, for 9-10 dollars I was provided with a huge amount of food and my waistline is probably better off without any more extras.

    Chicken BBQ!

I was amazed when I saw how many food trucks were outside! Korean BBQ stood out the most and decided to give them a try! I got the chicken BBQ and to my surprise it was really good! I'm so used to taco trucks and this gave a different view of food trucks. The food came out excellent with a short wait time. So far I don't have anything negative for this crew. Keep up the good work! Till next time!

    Bulgogi Taco combo
    Chance N.

Wasn't sure which Korean taco truck to choose (there's so many) so I gave this one a chance. Taco Box is entirely run by a family of Koreans so that gave me hopes of some really authentic stuff. I ordered the bulgogi taco combo (consists of a giant taco with a side of salad, fried rice cutlets, and a chicken wing). I started with the rice cutlets; still don't know what to really call them. They taste like sticky rice that's been fried which was neat. The bulgogi combined with the sauce they use was very delicious. Although, the cheap and flimsy tortilla along with the excessive amount of lettuce really upset me. It made it really hard to enjoy the taco. The wing and salad weren't really memorable so I'm not sure why they were included. They did include a complimentary mini yogurt drink which was really nice! Honestly the meat and the sauce combined is a real winner; they just need to work on the tortilla and add some flare to their side dishes.

    KFC Box (fried boneless chicken)

I was walking down 20th and L with no particular lunch goal in mind when I came across KBBQ Box; I didn't recognize it and didn't remember seeing its little icon on the Food Truck Fiesta website, so I frantically yelped it to no avail. Then I found out through Google that they are apparently a Big Deal in Orlando, and so I quickly turned around and sidled up to the truck at around 1:30 PM. They serve the typical bulgogi, Korean tacos, and chicken teriyaki found at the other Korean fusion food trucks. What caught my eye was the "KFC Box," with the description "fried boneless chicken." Really, when you have that succint of a description, how can you resist? There were no lines, friendly staff and speedy service; I waited 4-5 minutes for my meal while chatting with the owner, who apparently started the first food truck in Orlando and has since expanded to Miami and now here, his hometown. At $9.99, this is one of the more expensive food truck offerings, but you get so much food that it's so, so worth it. The sign in front of the food truck has small text describing the sides that come with it, so it's easy to miss, but they really don't skimp. I had a sweet and sour chicken wing, a piece of rolled egg omelette with dried seaweed, a small salad with ginger dressing, two fried cheese rolls, rice, AND their fried chicken. You will finish your food full and happy, I promise. The salad with ginger dressing had a nice crisp flavor that provided some lightness against a very savory and heavy cheese roll and omelette. Not to mention, the sweet and sour chicken wing was not too sweet or chemical-laden, but provided just the right amount of oil and crispiness. The fried chicken in sauce was the real winner, though; I've never had bonchon chicken or any similar dishes, but I know good fried chicken when I eat it, and this is GOOD. Compare this to GBD, where for $8 you get two tiny pieces of chicken and a miniature biscuit, and sometimes it can be dry and lacking seasoning. KBBQ Box fried chicken is amazing. It was tender, crispy, the sauce was delicious. It was all I could ask for in Korean fried chicken. As if it couldn't get better, they do NOT skimp on the rice; you seriously have enough of that soft white rice to last you through all of the succulent chicken and side dishes that comes with it. I can't wait to try out some of their tacos and galbi! KBBQ Box, I hope you stick around the DC area!!

Chicken teriyaki with rice, fried cheese rolls with spicy mayo, chicken wing, ginger salad and some yogurt type drink.

I've seen this truck around Rosslyn quite a few times but never got around to trying it until yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. At first glance, it's a little pricey and on the high end as far as food trucks typically go. The boxes range from about $10-$13 and, even though they include quite a lot of food, I still think one could be just fine with a little less food and a little lower prices. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with rice. The chicken is marinated in their homemade sauce and I LOVED it. The vegetables are also marinated with it and it actually made me want to eat them all, which is not too common for me. With the box there was also a chicken wing, fried cheese rolls with a spicy mayo on top (OMG so good), a ginger salad, and a yogurt type drink. The service was quick and they were really friendly. Would definitely go back to this place when I see it next time.

    KFC- Korean fried chicken

Let me tell you how much I wanted some KFC (korean fried chicken)...I waited almost 90 minutes at Truckeroo. Crazy, I know but damn it was worth it. I got extremely lucky because nothing I wanted was sold out before I got up to the front. My favorite entree to get is the KFC, korean fried chicken box. The box comes with fried cheese rolls, a salad and a hot wing, which are all equally good. The fried chicken is so juicy, perfectly crisp and seasoned to perfection!!! The cheese rolls are my other favorite because..I mean its fried..and its cheese, the tangy sauce on top is also delicious and wish I could get more. For about $10 you get the whole package and it will definitely get you full. I hope they are back next Truckeroo so I can try some more.

We went in right as they opened, on a Friday at 5 pm, and there was already a line! The reservations were full, but we were offered a seat either at the bar or outside. Luckily it was a beautiful day so we took a seat outside. They started us off with a sweet hibiscus flavored juice as a palate cleanser which was super refreshing. The left side of the menu had appetizers and shareables, while the right side had entrees. We ordered the short rib tacos, pork belly, wagyu empanadas, and seafood enchiladas. Everything had a beautiful bright orange sauce on it and made it look like it would be spicy but it wasn't! I think it's their signature guajillo sauce and it was VERY good, super creamy. Seafood enchiladas: This was my fav. Might have been because it was extremely hungry and it was my first bite. Definitely best when eaten warm, as the cheese is gooiest and the seafood inside is hot. I wasn't sure how the salad was going to be but it added a perfect refreshing and acidity to balance out the creamy sauce. Wagyu empanadas: Much gooey-er and cheesier than expected, but also a hit! Came with a decent amount of beef inside. Comes with the orange sauce and a chimichurri, which I think was a good idea because given how cheesy and creamy the filling already was, the chimichurri was a nice balance as well. Pork belly: Melts as soon as you cut into it. The Asian in me low key wanted a giant bowl of rice with this so that I could soak up all the sauce and veggies. Pretty fatty so if you're not a fan of that you might not like this. Short rib tacos: These were loaded, not with meat but with tons of crunchy topping (maybe fried carrots?) Could have done with slightly less crunch but overall still good. The orange sauce on the bottom had a peanuty flavor which I thought added a unique kick. Also, we were surprised at how quickly the food came out. We were in and out in under an hour. Our server Rebecca was also extremely nice. Will def be back if in the area. Highly recommend all around!

The service was ok, we had to tell our server we weren't seeing him enough, there's a 2 hour limit and we weren't getting a chance to order more drinks. After that he kept the drinks coming. WARNING! You DO NOT get to choose what items you want from the ayce brunch menu, they bring every single dish out and they do it at a pace that you barely get a chance to enjoy anything. Every dish is loaded with fillers and barely any meat. Every dish has a similar flavor of chilli, lime and cilantro. I say this with the upmost respect to this restaurant, the only good thing about the brunch were the churros and they don't give you that until you're ready to leave. The chicken and waffles were almost good but the sauce on the chicken with the waffle just ruins it. The steak and eggs were ok and you only get a 1oz piece of steak. Birria tacos were just ok and the fish taco was ok. Everything else was not worth it. A lot of items went to waste. If we could've chose exactly what we wanted, it might have been better. This would also add to why the service did not start off well because our server gave us our first drink and left. After that, every item from the brunch menu were just getting dropped off by food runners. It became overwhelming. We didn't even have room on the table for all of that. Then we also had to ask for new plates because we did not want to mix the flavors of every dish. The drinks were also not good, I had margaritas for my drink of choice and they are so sour and filled with cheap tequila... respectfully for 70$ a person you're better off ordering à la carte. The restaurant is beautiful though, great for pictures and the food is colorful as well but the flavors are just not that good and you're ultimately paying for a bunch of food that you don't really even want nor enjoy. I really hope they adjust this because I heard it was 10x better in the past.

I got the nachos, my husband got tacos, and we got a chicken quesadilla for our toddler. The nachos were PILED with toppings and so colorful - even in a take out container is looked beautiful. They were SO tasty, very full of flavor and spice. My husband said the tacos were delicious and our toddler actually ate a lot of the quesadilla. Win all around. Highly recommend!

Fair sized joint with a smallish patio out front. Having perused the menu on the way, I was looking to try something just beyond "staple of cheap Mexican." Sadly, we were presented with brunch menus, so it was a breakfast burrito for me and the breakfast tacos for her. I was remarkably hungry, so the burrito was eaten (and quickly). But truth be told, it's standard Mexican fare made with breakfast ingredients. No more description necessary - you've had this before and you'll have it again. The service was marginally lackluster- if you're not in a big party, you might get shuffled down in prioritization (or at least I thought we were...once ready to leave I did the 'fidget with credit card' trick to get the staff to close us out. It took frustratingly long. All in all, if I lived in the neighborhood, this would be my cheap Mexican place and more out of convenience than culinary merit.

There is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. The restaurant has a nice patio and a decent-sized dining area. The staff was friendly enough, but I had a hard time understanding them. This place serves basic Mexican food, including tacos, burritos, bowls, nachos, chips, and salsa. You just pick your protein and toppings. They have asada, chicken, asado, carnitas, and potatoes. Some toppings include shredded cheese, guacamole, salsa, corn, onions, and lettuce. You also have to choose between brown rice, Mexican rice, black beans, and pinto beans. I ordered a chorizo burrito. It took them about 5 minutes to prepare. The burrito was huge. I must say that it was very good. Very tasty and flavorful. It could have been a bit warmer, though. After I ate my burrito, I was full. I really enjoyed my meal here, and I highly recommend checking this place out. They serve some good, fast Mexican food.

This is the only place where I can get crushed chips in my bowl too. In terms of the price point, it's similarly priced as other texmex places. I can also appreciate how I won't run out of options here. Service/atmosphere - the employees are also speedy when preparing my food. They're also generous with their scoops, which I can always appreciate. The place indoors is always clean too. I would skip Chipotle and other Texmex places and go here instead!
